Sarah Ruhl's splendid meditation on love, death and memory has washed up on Atlanta's landscape like a lost fragment of time. In director Richard Garner's hands, the new twist on the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice is lovely, haunting and hypnotic. I've seen it twice. Through Sunday. Alliance Theatre, Hertz Stage. 404-733-5000, alliancetheatre.org. See user reviews or rate it yourself.
2. "The Little Dog Laughed" / Grade: A-
An irresistibly crisp and campy comedy of manners that mixes the salaciousness of "Queer as Folk" with the satirical edge of "Entourage." Douglas Carter Bean's play exposes the hypocrisy of Hollywood's sexual politics with glee and bite. Be prepared, however, for male nudity, simulated sex and raunchy language. Through April 27. Theatre in the Square, Marietta. 770-422-8369, theatreinthesquare.com. See user reviews or rate it yourself.
3. "When Something Wonderful Ends" / Grade: B-
In an amazingly circuitous autobiographical journey, Sherry Kramer deploys a small army of Barbie dolls to mourn what she sees as the globe's fatal dependence on crude oil. Through Saturday. Actor's Express, King Plow Arts Center. 404-607-7469, actors-express.com. See user reviews or rate it yourself.
