Children have a way of letting their imaginations go wild, allowing them to escape into a world of adventure and excitement. And most any child of the '80s could relate to the swashbuckling escapades of an inventive group of Oregon kids looking for the lost treasure of One-Eyed Willy in Richard Donner's "The Goonies."
As part of its ongoing Art Opening and a Movie series, Midtown's Plaza Theatre offers a special screening of the film that helped establish future stars like Corey Feldman, Sean Astin, Josh Brolin and Martha Plimpton. Preceding this piece of pop culture treasure will be an art opening featuring pirate-themed works from the imaginative minds of local lowbrow artists such as R. Land, Shane Morton, Jim Stacy and Lael Pastore.
