Associated Press
Celebrity chef Paula Deen and Smithfield Foods want to make sure the homeless have food for Thanksgiving.
The Food Network star is set to be on hand to donate and deliver 25,000 pounds of protein to Hosea Feed The Hungry & Homeless in Atlanta at 10 a.m. Monday.
The donation is part of the Smithfield Foods' Helping Hungry Homes initiative, which was established to help ensure that American families in need do not go hungry.
Deen, known for her Southern cuisine, is a celebrity spokeswoman for Smithfield foods.
