Rate T.I.’s First (Official) Single

T.I._Whatever You Like.jpg

No you didn’t misread the headline.

Yes, Atlanta rapper-actor T.I. did release a single back in April titled “No Matter What”. But that was what the label called a “street” single, to generate buzz for his upcoming CD “Paper Trail.”

“Whatever You Like” is what Grand Hustle/Atlantic is touting as the first OFFICIAL single from the Sept. 9 release.

Hear the original version HERE and/or the “clean” version HERE, then tell us, is it what you want to hear from T.I.? On par with other other lead-off singles from his albums, such as “Big Things Poppin’ (Do It)” and the Grammy winner “What You Know”? Better than “No Matter What?”

This single is on and poppin!I also like the gospel-flavored No Matter What. It shows that it’s time for the street life to merge with the holy life….Just My Opinion…

This single sums up his entire career to this point. T.I. makes my top 5 list of current rappers, and top 10 all time.

rap isn’t music. It’s an illiterate nog chanting to a drumbeat. I could fart in a mud puddle and sound better than any (c)rap out there.

This song is powerful, moving and poetic. His voice, his music, his lyrics represent strength, growth and love. T.I. is a genuis. But he is so humble and fresh. I love this song.

cracker jacks? um yea, know we know who listen to this Top 40 music, and no matter what you call it its still top 40. rap, R&b still its bottom line “Make music to who buys it” not make music to express and seek new music avenues. Just because you put a nice hook and dribble cracker jack lyrics doesnt make it a hit..

Why post on here if you do not like rap music. You don’t see anyone protesting outside the CMA’s saying country music is garbage. Or if you played a country music album backwards: You would get your job back, your wife would come home, and your dog would come back to life.

He takes care of all his kids and have way more money than you will ever see in your whole pathetic lifetime. Don’t get mad cause he can buy your wife or girlfriend if you even like women at all! lol

Think about what you are willing to support, ignorance to a beat or creativity by an artist. Most rappers get paid off of the ignorance of the listeners. The real creative rap artist are far and few. T-I means Too - Ignorant! It won’t be long before the death of rap music at this rate!

No, I didn’t come up with it myself and I really like country music. I also like rap and rock music. I think that rap music used to be better. What can you do?

Don’t take the small things in life so seriously. No one gets out alive anyways.

Didn’t come up with that on my own either.

If you dont like rap, so what? I like different genres of music, but i like rap best. Some rap is garbage, but every genre has garbage. some rappers get in trouble, but dont act like its cool for rockers to get high and kill themselves or its cool for all these pop and rock stars to go in and out of rehab every week. Mark instead of finding out who your baby’s mother is, why dont you find out why you sister is also your first cousin? With that said, T.I., this is a great single and everything that i have heard from paper trail so far has led me to believe that this album is going to a problem; maybe one of the best i have ever heard. something like Trap Muzik!!

What ya’ll don’t understand is hip hop won’t die as long as it’s poverty in the world. What they are rapping about are real life things that people go through. I don’t expect for everybody on this blog to be able to relate or understand cause some of you never seen a project or ghetto in your life. The white kids are interested in what goes on outside of there suburb and these rappers give them insight and they love it. It’s the classic rags to riches tale with most of the rappers in the game. America loves a good rags to riches tale.

I love this new joint!!!

To the AL trailer trash that is always snooping around commenting on things that does not concern them. Please advise me on the following:

  1. Why are the cracker jacks killing their pregnant wives and girlfriends when they become pregnant?
  2. Why did the “master” always take his broke down behind in the quarters assaulting and stealing what was not his?
  3. How can your uncle be your daddy as well?
  4. Why do you all like Jerry Springer, jacked up trucks, buttermilk and cornbread and not to mention heavy metal music that have your kids gothic and suicidal?

The only place you all can work is Hot Topic or Pink Pony.

DBOY GOOD POINT! They will never understand what we go thru but i think it does interest Young White Suburbans that is why they are the major purchase of hip-hop. So why you may think that it is us buying TI, Lil Wayne, etc. Guess what Mark it is actually YOUR CHILDREN that are major supporters so you might want to ask your children what it is about Rap music that makes them idolize it so much!

You know what ignorance is……….to express hatred to entire catergory without taking the time to research it. T.I is a rapper with his own artistic style. He is an entertainer and his musik shouldn’t be judge by his actions outside of the studio. I can think of hundreds of musician that have been arrested and still sell out arenas. Check yourself Mark; you have turn this blog into an outlet to promote your own personal hate when it was to promote one single song. I find it very funny that you would take the time to click on this particular article when you hate rap. I wonder what issues in problems you have going on in your life that forced you to spend energy on downgrade an entire race of people. I wonder what people like you are gonna do when a Black man is placed in control of this country.

BTW; why do you have the extra time on a weekday morning to comment on this? are you unemployed? surfing the net for porn? or just updating your gun and anmo subscription?

Preach Peace and silence your hatred….

Tip keeps it real as he always has. I especially respect that he has acknowledged that he is responsible for his actions, as well as the actions of those that really look up to him.

I can remember him in the studio with Toomp, prince bruce, and whitfield. His style changed only slightly and for the better; growing as a rap artist.

We only get stronger!

Mark:

Let me first begin by saying music is an artistic expression and everyone has right to an opinion. For me it varies. I listen to a wide range of musical genres, from blues, to hip-hop, from jazz, to classical, but making a sweeping generalization about any musical genre would be galactically stupid!

Mark, maybe you don’t like rap or hip-hop because you don’t understand it, and if you don’t understand something then you should take time to try. In any event, your comment about rap can be viewed as shortsighted and irrelevant.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Regards,

Atl~fan
