Young Jeezy Tuesday (Wednesday AND Thursday) in Atlanta

“The Recession” is apparently reason to celebrate — and more — for Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy.

Today is the release of the multimillion-selling artist’s third CD, “The Recession”. (See our story in the Living section HERE ).

Tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. Jeezy is scheduled to make an in-store appearance at North Georgia Compact Disc in Norcross (509 Beaver Ruin Rd. 770-416-6575). And later that night there is the concert at the Tabernacle — find tickets HERE — followed by an after-party planned at the Velvet Room (3358 Chamblee Tucker Rd. 404-874-4460).

But it won’t be self-promotion, self-promotion, self-promotion all week for the admitted Barack Obama supporter, as his Atlanta record label CTE is hosting a voter registration drive from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. at Justin’s Restaurant (2200 Peachtree Rd. 404-603-5353) on Thursday.

With a Top 5 single on Billboard’s rap, and R&B/Hip-Hop charts (“Put On”), and high-profile appearances here and in New York, is there any doubt “The Recession” will debut No. 1 in the country next week? What kind of numbers do you think he’ll do? And are you planning to attend any of the Jeezy events here this week?
