Party With Nominee Anthony David Grammy Night- In Atlanta
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
No offense, Grammy Awards — Atlanta nominee Anthony David insists — but he won’t be in Los Angeles this weekend to pick up his first statue, should he win.
“Not that I’m thinking I won’t or anything,” David said with a laugh. “It just started getting to be a little expensive, thinking about flying my mom and everybody out there. So I just decided to stay here and party with the fam[ily]”.
And you — if you RSVP to muddywatermgmt@gmail.com in time. Then you can join the R&B singer-songwriter up for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals (for the ballad “Words” with fellow Atlantan India Arie) at Cafe Circa, 464 Edgewood Ave. S.E . His Grammy viewing party starts with a red carpet - of course - at 6, with the show airing at 8 p.m. . And Salah Ananse is scheduled to be on the turntables afterwards. (For more information call 404-477-0008).
Planning to go? And since we’re soliciting Grammy picks this week, think he’ll win against Boyz II Men (“Ribbon In The Sky”); Al Green featuring John Legend (“Stay With Me - By The Sea”); Jennifer Hudson featuring Fantasia (“I’m His Only Woman”); and Raphael Saadiq featuring Stevie Wonder and CJ Hilton (“Never Give You Up”)? Ever even heard the other singles nominated?
Well, to hear David’s “Words,” see the YouTube clip BELOW:
