MCCRAY’S TAVERN ON THE SQUARE in downtown LAWRENCEVILLE. Their outdoor dining is ON TOP of the building. Nothing like a panoramic view of a historic downtown square while enjoying your meal. They have both a shaded and sunny seating area. Downtown Lawrenceville is absolutely beautiful.

Einstein’s (Although that highrise they are building across the street is ruining the view). FPN Midtown(I’ve never had their food but the patio is cool. I wish they could move the band out there) Rio Grande on Roswell (For the atmosphere and the drinks. You’re likely to run into anyone you know under 30 on any given night of the week). No Mas (but it’s a bit out of the way).

Bahama Breeze on Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw/ Marietta. A big breezy patio with a happy atmosphere, live music and the best Mojitos. The menu is not huge, but the Caribbean-inspired food, plus excellent pastas and the best Spicy Shrimp anywhere make it easy to be satisfied. Service is always pleasant. And smoking is permitted, a major plus for me and many others.

Porch dining in Atlanta is fabulous and our plentiful options beat virtually all other cities. However, too many face busy streets or unsightly parking lots. If you desire more atmosphere and less fumes, the best choices are Anis, a hidded Buckhead spot for affordable French food, and The Treehouse, which is unsurpassed for a neighborhood feel.
