The most romantic and cozy place to have a wedding in any season is the lovely stone Log Cabin church in Vinings. Complete with a wishing well in front to insure a life time of happiness, this church is not too big and not too little but just the right size and room for close friends and family. It truly has a lovely ambiance.

Best Package Deal? Pristine Chapel in Morrow. The grounds are beautiful, everything is carefully organized and the staff is really helpful. We got married on 06-07-08 and it only took 3.5 months of planning thanks to the wonderful Pristine Chapel staff.

Lake Arrowhead near Waleska in Cherokee County—my son and daughter-in-law just got married there—lake is beautiful, lodge is rustic but big and spacious, food service is great! The place is a little run-down, but with beautiful bones. Good vibes.

Primrose Cottage in Roswell. My wife and I were married there in 2006. We had a beautiful ceremony at this historic house. The House is beautiful, the staff are top notch, and the cost is affordable through their various package deals.

I thought this was about proposals… What about the sundial resturant overlooking downtown or a nice jazz club like django or sambucca. My personal choice would be the patio at Georgian Terrace with a quick walk across Peachtree while dressed to the nines for a musical at the Fox to show off the ring on my lovely lady’s hand.

Am I missing something? I thought this blgo was about best place to propose and people are talking about where to get married? Get with it, people!

Best place would probably be at Stone Mountain. 2nd place would be on the JumboTron at the next Monster Truck rally. Just kidding.

Best and most romantic place to get engaged is the Chattahoochee River. Got engaged at the river in Roswell, celebrated our engagement that nite at Ray’s On The River, got married at Jones Bridge Park “on the river” and celebrated our first anniversary a year later at Canoe restaurant in Vinings “on the river”.

Okay… my joke choices would be…

The caboose at the Old Spaghetti Factory… choo choo My first dinner with a certain special young lady was there…

Or, the Boat at Dante’s… tug tug… My first “date” with that same lady was there… Both special places to us because of our history even though we never sat in the boat or the caboose.

I saw someone get proposed to on the ice at a Thrashers game once. They did a mock promo where the lady thought she was in a contest adn they blindfolded her. That seemed to go pretty well. She was definately surprised.

This is confusing—- its about proposing, but typically when someone says “Will you marry me?” you don’t respond with “I do”

By Paul

August 4, 2008 1:38 PM | Link to this

Hmmm…where to propose…it’s a tougher question than one might think. First and foremost, if anyone recommends a place to do it, DON’T DO IT THERE!!! How impersonal does a proposal become when 20 other couples are doing the exact same thing all around you? Someone mentioned the Sundial which is a GREAT romantic restaurant but not unique at all as far as proposals are concerned. Your future wife will want something memorable, something that makes her heart melt and brings her girlfriends to tears when they hear about it.
So, where did I propose to my wife? In a parking lot…and it was the most romantic thing ever. You see, we had our first kiss in the parking lot out side of the Corner Bakery in Buckhead. On our year and a half anniversary of being together, I suggested we go to Maggiano’s in Buckhead for dinner(same building with a shared parking lot). After dinner we walked back to our car. Before opening the door for her, I told her I wanted another parking lot kiss. We kissed and then I got down on my knee (yes you absolutely must get down on your knee) and proposed to her. So, my advice to those working on their proposal, pick something personal. Think of the top 5 moments in your relationship to date. Recreate one or two or all five of those moments in some fashion and top it off with the proposal. You’ll never regret it and your new fiance will treasure the memory for a lifetime.

Yep! Leave it to a guy to get things mixed up. The headline of this piece does not match the editorial. Not being hard on you, Phil. :o)

I do!” is said at WEDDINGS.

Yes (or no)!” is said at PROPOSALS.

So, are you looking for the best place to wed OR to propose?

My wife and I were married at 15,000 feet above skydive atlanta in thomaston, you can check the website for experienced jumpers. We had our minister jump with us along with 4 camera men, my best man and her maid of honor. We jumped out and did our I do’s and kiss at around 8,000, then did another ceremony on the ground.

My husband and I got married in 2004 in the ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel in midtown. This hotel is the “secret jewel” of Atlanta. The place is gorgeous, the food was outstanding and the level of service was beyond compare. There’s no question that a beautiful photo of the wedding couple can easily be taken on their grand staircase. I was truly made to feel like a Princess during the entire weekend event!

Unfortunately, I know one couple that got engaged at Chattahoochee River and another couple that got married at that Log Cabin in Vinings, and their both divorced. Not saying those places are bad choices, but I think you get my point.

We got married at the Georgian Ballroom of the restored Biltmore downtown. The ceremony and reception were LOVELY -the photographs incredible! Around 7 pm in the summer the sun shines through the enormous windows and turns the whole place into a golden room (the ceiling is very ornate and painted in gold and pale green tones). It’s big and we had a great reception there too -also a lovely courtyard for photographs and balcony with rocking chairs. Their other ballroom is pretty as well.

Changed the article while I was busy at work… Best place to get married, any Catholic church. First marriage wasn’t in a Catholic church and lasted 2.5 terrible years. Biggest mistake of my life. Current husband and I married at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Dallas. We will celebrate 10 wonderfull years of marriage in September.

I got married and had our reception at Rhodes Hall right on Peachtree St. in midtown Atlanta. The home was built in 1904 and looks like a castle. The interior is amazing (not a lot of flowers/decor required) and features a beautiful staircase and stained glass windows.

Yanamom, you just married the wrong guy the first time, don’t blame it on the place - that’s one day, more like a few hours out of your life - it is up to YOU and your SPOUSE to make a marriage work………or not.

I know LOTS of Catholics who got married IN church, only to be divorced later.

The BEST place in Atlanta is Druid Hills Golf Club! They recently renovated their ballroom, very elegant, lots of crystal chandeliers and a lovely Bride’s Room just for the Queen for a Day! You can also hold the ceremony on the Terrace overlooking the rolling green golf course and party afterward by the pool! Convenient in-town location. Great food and staff and lots of free parking. The club’s been around since 1912 so you know you’ll be able to celebrate your anniversary there as well! Just make sure you are a member or have a friend who is a member to sponsor you!

A beautiful historic home in Adairsville,Ga. it is called Rosabelle Manor. We had been to a wedding there before and between the house/facility and the food and the owner of Rosabelle we made our decision to get married there! We were not disappointed, everything that we loved the 1st time we were there, was the same for our wedding. For the price I would sugggest it to everyone!!!

If I HAD to get married in Georgia it would be between the Hazlehurst House in Mcdonough because it is simply beautiful! You can get married outside or inside and have the party inside or outside. The 2nd place where I would get married is in Tyrone at a place called Glendalough Manor It’s simply wonderful too. But since I am a water girl I am getting married at the beach if I can ever find someone…. :)

Top of Stone Mountain (where I wed in 1996 right before the Olympic remodel)

If you are LDS, the Atlanta Temple on Barfield Road which is beautiful inside and out. Then your marriage is solemnized to last eternally and until “death do us part”.

I got married at Flint Hill in Norcross. It’s a big old white mansion with a beautiful garden and gazebo in which to get married. There’s a great, large ballroom that is very tastefully decorated. Tellus - the new science museum just off 75 and right behind a Holiday Inn (for out of town guests) is the best place to get married. You can have a tent outside, use the theatre for the ceremony, or get married under the dinosaur in the great hall. They also have banquet halls. I can’t wait to have my wedding there. It is so cool!!!
