For an upscale brunch, The Ritz Carlton (Buckhead) and The Four Season have, hands down, the best brunch in the city.
For a more casual/relaxed environment, however, you can’t go wrong with Murphy’s in VA-HI.

107.5 Jazz Brunch is the best in any city, and quite possibly the best in the Southeast. Flying Biscuit is very good but Jazz Brunch is a spectacular event with phenomenal food and great music.

The Old Mill Restaurant in downtown Acworth have the absolutely BEST brunch on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. We try to get there when the doors open, because many times there is a line waiting. This place is upscale, top-notch, the food is AWESOME, and the prices are very reasonable. If you are looking for excellent quality food. Go to the Old Mill in Acworth. And no, I do not work there!

It’s not even close- Horseradish Grill is by far the best brunch in town. Every time a friend comes in from out of town, if it’s their first time I take them there, if it isn’t their first time they ask to go there.

One of the best kept brunch secrets in Atlanta is, surpisingly, Fado in Buckhead. They have a fabulous Irish breakfast and a yummy make-your-own Bloody Mary bar. And it’s NEVER crowded for brunch. Fabulous!

Casual brunch is a bit of a toss up to me. I think the gingerbread waffle at Java Jive is DIVINE, while the eggs benedict sing at Horseradish Grill. Nursing a hangover, or have a case of the munchies? Waffle House, no doubt. Nobody does hash browns, scattered, smothered, and covered better!

There is this place near w. paces fairy called the steak n’ snake and it is the very best of the brunch. they have a cheese fry to die for and burgers made out of real steak. you can get your milk shake with two different kinds of the milkshake and it is the same price but it’s not as big as two milkshakes but still it is the flavors of both milkshakes and they work together in perfect harmony.

Not so many places in South Cherokee or North Cobb for brunch…so one that sticks out is Old Mill in Acworth. Seated in the heart of downtown, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is phenomenal and the service has always been top notch when I have been there. I recommend calling for a reservation—have never had a hard time getting seated by doing that. Otherwise, it could be a long wait for a table. Everything has always been top notch there.

Golden Corrale is the best on Sat/Sun hands down for the money. Get there at about 10:30am and you can start off with Breakfast, then at 11:00am they start putting out the Lunch buffet. I guarantee they will have to roll you out. $10 bucks well spent.

Y’all are missing something here: Flying Biscuit is the MOST OVERRATED restaurant in ATL. Bleh, Bleh, Bleh. YUCK. The best place for Brunch is different than the best, or in the case of the flying biscuit, the most popular breakfast place. For brunch, Ray’s on the River and the Ritz Carlton Buckhead can’t be beat. For a regular breakfast type place, Thumbs Up! and Silver Skillet make Flying Biscuit seem like McDonald’s. Oh, and the OHOP(Original House) is pretty great too.

The Flying Biscuit? No, no, no! I agree with the readers on that the whole idea that brunch should be a relaxing and slow-paced experience if desired. You will certainly not receive that at The Flying Biscuit. You wait forever to get into the restaurant; you’re slammed so tightly in establishment that you could literally reach over to the next table for salt & pepper (without having to leave your seat); you’re given “the look” that it’s time for you to hit the door once the waiter brings the check; and the food is not desirable in my opinion. Even their claim-to-fame biscuits are not that great.
For a down-home, deliciously satisfying breakfast dining experience, head over to Thumbs Up Diner. You will not be disappointed. Well, only if you wait too late in the day to go and they’ve run out of Challah bread for their scrumptious French toast. Everything is great there, but I highly recommend the fresh blueberry and pecan pancakes when in season. Talk about lip-smacking good! :-)

I’m not a fan of chain restaurants, or paying too much $$$ for brunch. I also agree that Flying Biscuit sucks and isn’t even brunch! The BEST brunch in town is Osteria 832 in Vi-Hi. The french toast and gratins are to-die-for. An extra bonus is you get a five star brunch for $10 or less! I hear the same brunch menu (with more organics and locally-grown) is served at their new sister restaurant in Grant Park - Stella. Maybe I’ll go try Stella’s brunch this weekend! : )

I agree with johnny t-bone flying biscuit is OVERRATED. If you want a good brunch Gato Bizco Cafe in Candler Park, you can laugh at the people across the street waiting in line to grab a seat at the flying Biscuit also Einstein’s in midtown and The Southern Skillet in Chamblee.

I am particularily fond of Sweet Melissa’s in Decatur on the Square. The omelets are delicious and overfilled with all sorts of goodies, the bacons is crisp and peppery and the biscuits are overwhelming at times. The prices are also just right. A great place for breakfast or brunch anytime!

Canoe is gorgeous and the scones are the best I’ve ever had. I love the cheese grits at Three Bears in Marietta. However, for a brunch you can drink to, Cafe at East Andrews with the make your own bloody mary bar, plus the food is pretty good too.

Please. I know they have great quiche and strawberries Romanoff but it is the basics that matter every time. Le Madeleine’s near Perimeter Mall makes the best scrambled eggs. Light, fluffy, not too dry, not too moist, not too rubbery, but just right. The atmosphere is not bad and the desserts are perfect.

Anyone who says the Flying Biscuit is their favorite place to have brunch and that they have the “best tofu” is in dire need of an ass whipping. Two of my favorite places are in Decatur: the Wahoo Grill and Sweet Melissa’s. The Wahoo’s grits, herbed scrambled eggs, and cinnamon puffs are killer. And Sweet Melissa has a big, fat, delicious veggie omelette. I would also put in votes for Rays on the River and for Chequers.

The Flying Biscuit is awful, with their phony bacon and sausage, and home fries right out of a Stouffers box. About the only thing good there is the coffee. I’ll go with Pastries-A-Go-Go in Decatur for the great eggs benedict on weekends.

Am I the only one in Atlanta who doesn’t like the Flying Biscuit? The biscuits are not southern - they are tall, heavy and sweet, not fluffy and buttermilk-y and salty like a true southern biscuit. The Southern Skillet in Roswell has the best biscuits, hands down. Best brunch chain is probably J Christophers.

I surprisingly haven’t seen anyone mention Agnes and Muriel’s in Midtown! It’s SO good. The atmosphere is really neat, as it’s in an old craftsman house full of retro decor (like Barbie dolls on the wall) and the food is unbelievable. Their Bloody Marys are the best I’ve ever had. But I think they only do brunch on the weekends.

Fortunately, all tastes are NOT alike. I do enjoy the comments above. Good stuff ! Two good spots for those who don’t want to drop a fortune on the Ritz Carlton , etc. are 1. Pappadeaux’s, 10795 Davis Drive, Alpharetta & 2. Village Tavern, 11555 Rainwater Drive, Alpharetta. Both offer good quality & variety at a “reasonable” price. VT is excellent for dinner also. I have a list of new places to try after reading the blogs.

I love the Social House. Their blueberry pancakes, Shrimp n Grits Platter and the Whole Farms Sandwich are to die for. Unfortunately I had a horrible experience at the Flying Biscuit, everyone rave bout the place so I took my mother there on saturday morning and we both fell ill after eating there to the point we had to take my mother to the ER. We both had food poisoning. Needless to say, I will never eat there again.

Corner Cafe - On the corner of East Paces Ferry and Piedmont Rd, Corner Cafe has the combination of excellent food, Wonderful staff and a great atmosphere. Not only is the entire staff friendly but they all know your name and the manager makes a point of walking around and talking to each table to make sure that they are enjoying their meal. They ahve a great menu with traditional items and some unique ones but what sets them apart is that they will make whatever you ask them to make as long sa they ahve the ingredients in restaurant. They make the meal stress free with no rush to turn the tables and get the next customer through the door. Thats how Brunch is supposed to be.
