You are always wondering what they will do next, or when the next time is that Kevin will stick his foot in his mouth. Most morning shows are into pranks, talking about things that most people don’t really want to hear about in real life much less on the radio, or full of useless chatting. The Morning Mess on 94.1 is Atlanta’s best morning radio show. After Fred Toucher left 99X, and then after Sean Dememry, Jenners, and Leslie are gone that only leaves The Morning Mess.

The three that I could think of on my presets are:

92.9 100.5 94.1

There is no BEST a.m. morning show.

They all dip when the long commercial breaks come on and when the conversations weave in and out of boring or stalled topics. 94.1 gets dull when they replay old prank calls.

The idea is to have a variety of presets to jump around.

Commercial driven radio is dead. Sirius Satellite Radio is far superior.
I want to hear music, not some lame DJ or morning show failing in their pathetic attempts at being witty in between even lamer commercials. Regular radio is boring and predictable. Take 1 jock/fratboy + 1 cute female + 1 large everyday joe + boring attempts at humor and stupid contest = ATL’s excuse for a morning show. I’ll pass.

I recently started a new position, in a VERY quiet office. As a result I find myself wearing headphones and listening to Kevin and Taylor in the Morning on 104.7 The Fish. They are the BEST blend of good music and engaging conversation I have found. They help me to get going at work. Their conversations with each other, and with their audience are always appropriate, humorous, and topical. Was never much of a morning show listener till I found them - now I’m hooked.

Am I right, Fish fans? It’s fine to do it that way. In fact, we encourage the morning shows to say something to their listeners about this blog.

First of all I want to know what preacher encouraged his congregation in yesterday’s sermon to vote for the Fish??? I personally still miss 99X. While Leslie & Sean might have been past their prime Jenners & Producer Mark were hilarious. I wish they were still on Atlanta radio. While I was reluctant to listen to the Bert Show they are growing on me. I’m not sure if that’s for a late of choices although I do like them better than Dave FM’s current morning show.

THIS IS WHY THESE “FEEDBACKS / COMMENTS” ARE SO WORTHLESS!

• It’s not a VOTE … so Kevin & Taylor can relax a little! You and your listeners aren’t helping your cause by “stuffing the ballot box,” so to speak! Just makes you look desperate and amateurish! BUT I’M A FAN, and it’s an excellent show! … just relax a little!

• Why do these “comments” sections always bring out the worst in people? AJC.com seems to be populated with hateful, nasty people who can’t afford a subscription! I’d be happy if these “comments” sections just disappeared!

• THE BEST MORNING RADIO SHOW seems to be Steve & Vikki on B98.5 because they are the perfect combination of current, upbeat music … positive energy … fun personalities (without being cheesy) … and always “appropriate” content and humor!

• PHIL, please tell your clueless editors that these “surveys” always backfire because of the low quality of intellect and surly attitude of most of the online readers. The “surveys” damage what’s left of the credibility of the AJC and AJC.COM

• FINALLY … since we’re voting for the BEST radio show (Steve & Vikki), we have to allow a vote for the WORST morning show, which is hands-down the Morning Mess on the formerly-great Star 94. I’ve heard high school radio with more quality, professionalism and maturity! Ugh!

I have to be honest… in my teens and 20s, morning radio seemed so important… but now in my 30s, I have had a Sirius satellite radio for a few years, and to be honest, it is WORLDS better than local radio! Probably for a variety of reasons, mainly that Atlanta stations feature WAY too many commercials and most of the ads are VERY annoying. Couple that with little music/too much banter, and I have just outgrown it. Back in my middle school and high school days, I loved Steve McCoy on Z-93 and later Power 99 (anybody remember that?) and he was GREAT. Made you feel like he was an old friend every day on the air. Now, with junk like “morning mess” and the crude, sophomoric regular guys (bathroom humor), I think good clean shows like Steve & Vikki and the Fish 104.7 folks are even more important. For me, I am a big Sirius fan and listen to very little local radio anymore… but (Atlanta station managers, PAY ATTENTION NOW) I would be MORE inclined if you had more local talent, local-oriented programming and less corporate crap (don’t EVER import an out-of-town show in Atlanta again! morning mess should have stayed in Indiana or wherever they’re from). Atlanta radio has gone downhill for about 15-20 years now, but I hope it makes a comeback soon.

I only listen to sports radio in Atlanta since they took my favorite morning show of Rhubarb and Dallas away. I am pretty much an XM music guy now. Anyway, I like the 790 the zone guys, but from time to time listen to the Rude Awakening as well. So I would like to nominate both of our sports talk morning shows.

I think 104.7 The Fish should be the best morning show simply because they are! They bring a positive message to everyone that listens. Their is no bad language and no bad topics that could lead to anything bad. They are spreading the message of Jesus Christ over the Air waves and reaching the hearts of their listeners with great topics and funny healthy conversations. The Bert Show on Q100 (99.7) is the best. Even when I am on vacation and don’t have to ride into work I wake up just to listen to them. They are awsome and deserve to be ranked #1 in Atlanta!!! Keep up the good work!!

Favorite show…? I would have to say the Rick & Bubba Show, played on the weekends on WSB AM 750. I only wish it was on during the week as well. GREAT SHOW!!

The Bert Show is definitely the best locally-produced morning show. The cast has great chemistry, and they are not afraid to act like real people—flaws and all. That charm is a big part of the reason why they’re so universally appealing.

I am nominating Steve and Vicki. I am 41, and have been a loyal fan for-ever! I and all my friends were devastated when they were booted off 94. 94.1 is moving more towards younger audiences, and that is fine, as long as they have my favorites back on the air. That was a long 8 months. Thank you 98.5 for being smart and bringing them back on the air. Star 94 made a big mistake!

Of course the best show on the radio is the steve and vicki show. when they were on 94.1,I did not miss a show, and when they left it broke my heart. what is there now is garbage! when I heard steve/vicki joining the 98.5 family, I was more than excited, I almost cried.They are real,they are sweet and they know how to relate to their listeners. My vote is for them all the way!!

I felt so bad when I heard they were leaving b/c of illness, when I found out that was not all the real reason, I was actually disgusted and disappointed by their previous employer. I never thought them to be so shallow. I have listened to Steve and Vicki for many years and was ecstatic when I heard of their return. I get my morning fix and have a great ride to work. Could not ask for anything more!!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Kevin and Taylor’s Morning show is the only talk host my son and I listen to on the way to school. He feels like they are part of our family. We were driving in the car this morning (summer) and were listening to them and he said that he misses them. Of course he sleeps in most summer mornings so he misses their show. We really feel connected to them and enjoy hearing their personal stories. It’s much better than reality TV.

Hrmmm…

“The Morning Mess” is just that…mess. “The Bert Show” makes me want to jerk the wheel into a bridge embankment. Until them, I thought “Rick and Bubba Show” was bad…but they are worse. “Steve and Vikki” do not conjur as many images of razorblade surfing as “The Bert Show”…but that is not saying much. “The Regular Guys” - m3h…loved them for years…but I guess I have grown out of them. Plus - no Rich S…so…shrug “Kevin and Taylor” = TMJ. Enough said.

I normally listen to CDs if I want music…and talk radio if I want talk.

Kevin & Taylor on 104.7 The Fish are the BEST! I look forward to tuning in on my way to work each morning and listening on line from work. They are so funny! They are so transparent, I feel like I know them personally. They always have interesting topics that the listeners can weigh in on. The Fish has even been good for my health-and wallet!! I lost 30 lbs. because of “Get Fit With The Fish”. My Employer has a Wellness Program where we can weigh in. I was one of the top losers for this past year! I won a $200.00 gas card! WOO HOO! THANKS KEVIN & TAYLOR! You are the BEST-Even though you get up too stinkin early!

V-103’s “Frank (Ski) & Wanda (Smith) in the morning” is my favorite radio morning show. I like them because they’re funny, entertaining, informative, very much involved and knowledgeable of things in the community; they’re serious and the compassion they show towards different things, people and events. They really connect with their audience - - - - young, middle age and older. Along with them, I also love and enjoy the laughter and humor Miss Sophia adds to the show. I listen to them every weekday morning I work from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. I thank them for helping to get my day started.

104.7 the Fish is my favorite Georgia radio station. I love it because Kevin and Taylor are so funny, and I also love Heidi Rew and Dan Racliffe. (I almost wrote Dan RATcliffe!) The music gets a little monotonous after two hours a day of listening to it. my favorite artists are Jump5, Stacie Orrico, Barlow Girl, Zogirl, (when they’re younger) Michelle Tumes, Natalie Grant, and FFH. Thanks for having a great radio station!

I would like to nominate “Kevin & Taylor, in the morning” at The Fish, 104.7 for favorite morning radio show. Their show gets me up and going in the morning. The chemistry between them is amazing, they balance each other to make the morning commute a completely fun time. They make almost anything bearable while driving to work and listening to them. Their guests are equally informative and entertining. The stations commercial about being “safe for the whole family” says it all. I don’t have young childern riding in the car with me anymore but it is still nice to know that I don’t have to worry about hearing offensive comments.

Safe for the whole family and funny without resorting to vulgar and crass extremes like others! We found them and The Fish about 5 years ago and don’t listen to anything else, except a little local sports radio from Athens. Star 94 made a big mistake in losing Steve & Vikki. They need to rethink the Morning Mess.

Ok, I’m not trying to be negative, but considering the odd prevalence of votes for Kevin & Taylor for the Fish (which simply does not have the market shares of the main stream radio channels) and considering all the comments are remarkably similar I’m calling fraud. Some comments may be legit but it seems like the majority are fakes.

I listen to 104.7 The Fish, with Kevin and Taylor, every morning. It is so uplifting while I get ready for work, and I love their humor and the fact that there is no bad language or uncomfortable innuendo.

I love Steve and Vickie on B98.5. I have listened to them since they were on 93.3, 99.7, 94.1 and now. I grew up listening to them and it doesn’t seem right to start your morning off with anyone else. Kevin and Taylor are a close second. They are clean and fun for Christian music. Thanks, guys!

I think that the Kevin and Taylor show in the morning is the best by far for several reasons. First, anyone can listen to them. There is no taraget audience that has to avoid their show. Second, they keep you up to date on news and traffic while driving, and third, they play good music with a message that needs to be heard. Anyone who has not listened to them has lost out!

I love Kevin & Taylor @ 104.7 The Fish. They are just down to earth people who you can relate to and just laugh with. I can’t image not starting my day off by listening to them. They can get you laughing, crying and they also make you appreciate your family. Who wouldn’t want to listen to something like that?

The Bert Show on Q100 (99.7). They are hilarious!!! They make you feel like you are a part of a morning show family. They talk about things that the average person can relate to. If you are uncomfortable talking about a subject, they have this cool voice disguiser. They all have different personalities that you can relate to. Usually, people want to hear music, but you get so caught up in the shenanigans, who cares about music!! Then there’s Bert Show on the go, which gives you updates on your cell phone. There’s watercooler talk, I could on and on…….

I listen to V-103 out of habit. I have been listening since Mike Roberts was on in the morning. But honestly, sometimes I turn to 107.9 because I think they are more lively. Wanda and Frank are a mismatch for each other. They are good people but their personalities don’t complement each other…and the idea of adding Ms Sophia plunged the show into a whole arena of new depths and lows. I love the things V-103 does for the community but the morning show needs some kick.

“Steve & Vickki” ……. and I’d like to add have always had the hottest celebrity interviews & interesting newsworthy interviews than any other DJ’s. Plus must have some really great connections or be highly thought of enough to even get the caliber of people on their show. Their guests relate well to S& V’s “keeping it real” style. IMO: They always added a lot to the a.m. Atlanta drive-time.

Ihave always loved the A-team on 107.9.They know how to play the right music that wakes me up while having informative talks as well.But the sound of Griffs “whining im so perfect voice” i cant take.So i turn to 103.3 who is only good when Ryan fills in for Frank.Frank has become so boring that its possible I would fall asleep at the wheel with his “i know it all mentality”.I have tuned to Steve Harvey who is pretty entertaining.

I really enjoy listening to Kevin & Taylor on 104.7 The Fish’s Morning Show. Their comments bring a smile to my face as I’m facing Atlanta’s nightmareish traffic going from Marietta to College Park. I am going to have to say Frank and Wanda from the peoples station V-103 no there are not playing Jesus music and sometimes they do say bad words but they are sooo funny. Frank does alot for the community with the Frank Ski Kids foundation..Also if there is anytime that someone is in need and they call the station they jump into action like the lady who called in about the hudge rat in her house…it sounds funny but this story was so deep she ended moving here from somewhere else in the process someone stole her money out of her mailbox her son was handicapped and it was just sad to make a long story short they sprung into action found her a job, got her a car, cash in her hand all within 24 hours…Frank even left the station to go catch the rat who in the end had to be shot…That is why I love these guys!

Wow. One would think with all the FISH fan road rage would just drift away in a calgon mist. How is it that so many people listen to the FISH, yet there is so much pushing and shoving on the highways? Anyway… I am a Caddy and Dallas fan. I loved Kristin Gates with Caddy, but she has been banished from Kicks - I still don’t understand that change. Not that I have a problem with Dallas - I love listening to her and enjoyed her when she was with Rhubarb. I miss Jim on Kicks, too. But, when I found Caddy and Kristin, I was a devoted fan and was shocked to learn Kristin, along with other favorites on Kicks, were sent packing. I don’t understand the logic behind these decisions. So, for now, I will ride to work with Caddy and Dallas. Oh, Tug is kinda nice too. He sounds like a lot of fun to be around and has a nice voice for radio.

One more thing… Randy and Spiff will ALWAYS be my favorites. These guys have made me laugh til I cried and were so much fun in the mornings. I wouldn’t care if they played music or not with these two guys on the air. I loved the Bill Hagar (I think that’s how you spell his name) segements they played, especially the one about the man requesting a discount from the nail salon for his lady friend who lost a few fingers in the old country for stealing.

On 104.7 The Fish, you get a good variety in the morning, which keeps it from being boring. Music, weather, news, special informative guests, funny conversations, Battle of the Sexes, Junior Joker, and the regular opportunity for call-ins on various subjects. Some days bring a laugh (or more), while others might evoke a tear. The other stations just don’t quite measure up. Thanks to Kevin & Taylor.

Please cast my vote for Kevin & Taylor in the Morning on 104.7 The Fish. I listen to them every weekday morning as I drive down 400 to the Perimeter Mall area (can take 30-60 minutes). They put a smile on my face daily (and I’m not a morning person :) I know “passers-by” probably wonder why I’m laughing sitting in traffic. These 2 do a fabulous job of representing their love for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit - and of course their families - and they’re funny, too. They are open about many things in their lives, so we feel like we’re their friends as well. “Battle of the Sexes” is great. I hope they win!!

I am one of the lucky people who do not get to enjoy morning or afternoon Atlanta traffic, so I am not (thankfully) familiar with daily “road rage” (per gatigger). I have listened to just about EVERY morning show in Atlanta and will agree that Star 94 “messed” up big time when they lost Steve and Vickie. But I will have to cast my vote for a different morning show. EVERY time I get into my car after having a horrible morning, either the kids are dragging their feet or are agruing over little things, only a few moments listening to Kevin and Taylor and we are all laughing and have forgotten how horrible the day has started. The kids love the man vs. women contest. Kevin & Taylor have such a postive outlook and it is catching! In a society where family and kids are not considered important, they lift us up! I think it mainly comes down to priorities and what you consider important in your life. 104.7 is the best! Try them before you knock them - it could change your life.

Taylor gives it that nice ‘womans’ touch. She is sweet and I adore her laugh! But lets be honest, in today’s world it is so hard to find a channel to listen to for yourself, let alone your kids. Steve and Vikki are a mainstay in Atlanta morning radio. They have been staunch supporters for a wide variety of charities and you know that these two will go out of their way to help any way they can. They have a great working relationship that can only come from love and respect for each other. These are two people anyone would be honored to have as friends. They’ve been a part of my morning for the past 17 years and now anyone within range of 98.5’s signal can enjoy their new show and get reacquainted as they catch up with the morning news and traffic and enjoy those songs that put a smile on your face and take you back to a time when things were much less complicated.

**I am not exaggerating when I say Kevin and Taylor on 104.7 “The FISH” actually make my morning commute FUN! There are several stations in Atlanta that play similar music, but none of them have the combination of craziness helpful topics and guests. They keep me laughing in GA 400 traffic; how great is that?!

Atlanta radio is sad, clear channel has been like a bad virus for atlanta radio. the only thing regular about the guys is their ability to shock listners by being more and more vulgar everyday. Face it they have no talent that is why their show is how it is. Worst part is it sells and what does that say for the people that wanted them back? Thanks clear channel, you made me so glad my truck had XM already when I bought it.

Kevin and Taylor are the best radio people ever. I once saw Kevin walk on the Chatt. River it was amazing. I’d like to see the regular guys do that. And Taylor is so sweet I could only wish that more Atlanta women were as wonderful as she is. Alot of people don’t know this but sometimes Kevin & Taylor visit hospitals and heal people and turn stones into bread. I bet Steve and Vicki could never do that.

The Regular Guys are great. Definitely not the Bert Show. It is the single most manipulative show in Atlanta with a stereotypical Napoleon Complex Bert and Big Boy Jeff at the wheel consistently pulling the strings in their favor of the puppets in Atlanta that call their show. Jen is great but Melissa continues to hyena laugh it up in the background.

The Fish’s “Kevin & Taylor Show” (104.7) is the BEST morning show in Atlanta. Love the music, crazy topics, funny antics, lively conversations, as well as the interesting guest spots…and it’s ALL clean! What a terrific idea. My 7 year old daughter loves it, too. You should tune in; it could put some smiles in the miles each morning!

I like the fish in the morning and the guys on 680 the fan. I can;t get enough of the 2 live stews. Frank and wanda along with Tom Joyner are also greatr morning starters, However for pure entertainment, provactive thought and just good radio i have to go with boortz on WSB. Like him or hate him. He is a thinking man who is unafraid to say what is on his mind. Boortz is funny, thoughful (in his own way) and honest. He gets my vote every year as Atlanta’s best

I have been listening to Kevin and Taylor in the morning for a long, long time. I am a Christian who cringes at the four letter words and discussions on other morning radio stations. 104.7 and Kevin and Taylor are a joy to listen to. I am an older college student, going back to college after 32 years of life as an wife, mother, grandmother, employee and have decided to go back to school to get my nursing degree. This radio station in the morning gets me inspired, feeling God’s presence with me as I enter the doors of the college. It is the best radio station, not only in the morning, but anytime you need a spiritual lift. There is no doubt that God is in this studio with Kevin and Taylor. They are funny, inspiring, their chemistry is perfect for morning radio, and I wish everyone in Atlanta would listen to this station in the morning….God bless all you do to help people from every walk of life. My testimony is on the air for this station..and let me tell you…it pays to listen. I just one $1000 college tuition from attending the college fair 104.7 just had earlier this year. Like manna from heaven, and a strong conviction that God really does honor my being back in college again and finally finishing what I started over 35 years ago. Mayhem in the AM is what I listen to. Very entertaining fellas, even if you don’t like sports. Bert show is unbearable, I don’t care about their listeners dating problems. As far as The Fish, Christian radio is lame, as is Christian rock/pop. Before I get branded as an athiest, I am a Christian believer. Doesn’t mean I have to like the crappy music.

I nominate 790 the Zone’s Mayhem in the A.M., and here’s why: Rarely, if ever, in the history of talk radio has an audience been treated to such a depressing, low level of dysfunction. And while this, at first, may seem like a criticism, it is exactly the opposite. How the three of these individuals have managed to marry not once, but twice (or in the case of Nick Cellini 8 times, if you expand the deinifition of marry to include tricking whatever woman you’re with at the time into sticking around for about 9 months) is almost unexplainable. These 3 are adolescents in perpetuity. These are the 3 guys that hang around at the party with the college girls completely aware that they are now the “creepy old guy” but not caring because that’s “living the dream.” In Chris Dimino, you have the stat book brainiac slacker who is so socially inept, it’s a wonder he has more than an imaginary friend. The man has interviewed every living baseball Hall of Famer, save one or two, (and has quite a track record of being the last person to actually speak with at least a dozen or so old timers who suddenly passed following the interview) but ask him to carry on a conversation about whatever is currently hip in pop culture and he becomes a bitter old man who might as well be yelling “Get of my lawn.” In Steak Shapiro, you have the graveled voiced food nut who “out kicked his coverage” by 42 miles when he finally found his lovely bride. The trouble with Steak is that he is, in some metaphysical sense, completely gay, yet this is apparently lost on him. What other man swoons to see Mama Mia, gets manicures and pedicures, and watches The Closer with his gal pals. He claims to be a Springsteen fan, but this is only because he pines for Clarence, the every happy, clapping sax player. He has good sports knowledge, but it is Steak who came up with 790s tag line “We know what guys want…” He doesn’t have a clue, but wink wink nudge nudge, the rest of us do. And then there’s Nick Cellini, the man who has probably burst more blood vessels in his forehead than Morton Downey Junior during his “quit smoking” phase. Nick is a work out freak, health nut, who probably has male anorexia. Couple that feverish, manic health crazed insanity with his inability to filter anything coming out of his mouth, and you basically have Susan Powter with Turrets Syndrome. Apparently Nick now takes calming medication, a fact frequently mentioned on the show, but man has not concoted a drug yet that can possible hold down that level of insanity, and listeners relish the thought of witnesses a Tony Saragusa rant, just for old time’s sake. Try as she might, Sandra Golden attempts to bring a rational female perspective to the show, but even the best Grind segment can’t even the playing field with this insane bunch of yahoos. All talented, but all talents wasted, Mayhem’s participants succeed for one reason, and one reason only: I defy any listener to tune into this show for five minutes and not IMMEDIATELY feel better about their own life and existance. No matter what your life’s predicament, it can’t hold a candle to the mess on Mayhem.

Kevin and Taylor are by far the best morning show in Atlanta! They are funny, informative, and caring. Not to mention, safe for all audiences! I never have to worry about changing the station- due to graphic or rude content- when my son is listening with me. 98% of all the other morning shows in Atlanta contain offensive material. So, ROCK ON KEVIN AND TAYLOR!!!! LOVE YOU!!!

I love Kevin and Taylor in the Morning on 104.7 The Fish.

Recently, we went on vacation and I could not wait to get back so that I could hear Kevin and Taylor again. They are like a “friend” at work. The day is just not the same without them.

Some may have forgotten “Moby in the Morning.” But he is still out there in Atlanta. He has his own snydicated show and can be heard anywhere in town on 107.1, 106.1 and 92.5 FM. He is funny!! Give a listen.

I only listen to 104.7 the Fish in the mornings. I am not a morning person, but they help me to get going.

I love the FISH 104.7, Kevin and Taylor are AWESOME. I listen while I’m getting ready for work and on the way to work. Their show makes my day go better. The musis is uplifting and Kevin and Taylor are such a joy to listen to, you can tell they care about their listeners.
