This is so shady and embarrassing - Cara Mia Jones, promotions coordinator for Meredith’s last-place WGCL-46-CBS in Atlanta (Market #8), sent this memo to staff:
“Each year, the AJC puts out the ‘Best of the Big A’ where anyone can vote on nominees listed as their Atlanta Favorites. One of the categories, which began on July 21st, was Sexiest Weather Person. “Please go to the link below, and vote for Dagmar (Midcap), Laura (Huckabee), or Jennifer (Valdez). You just put in your email and a user name and enter a comment with the person’s name you are voting for. You are also allowed to add additional comments such as how sexy you think they are, what they wear, etc.
“The more they are nominated, the better their chances for being ranked and getting additional exposure for themselves, as well as the station. There isn’t a category yet for Best Atlanta TV station, but if this category rolls out, I will let everyone know to vote as well.”
I think WGCL’s votes should be thrown out.

Joanne Feldman is THE reason to watch weather. She’s not only drop-dead beautiful, but she either doesn’t know it, or doesn’t hype it (which makes her all the more appealing). One of the other “winners” (who happens to be on the LAST PLACE station in Atlanta thinks she’s the hottest…which makes her all the more LESS ATTRACTIVE.
