The Grey Parrot Gallery at 2300 Peachtree specializes in rare historical documents, maps, prints, etc. They have things for sale that you can usually only find in museums. What better for a tough person to shop for than a one-of-a-kind piece of history (if they like that sort of thing). You can check it out at www.greyparrotgallery.com

Without question the Grey Parrot Gallery in Buckhead would qualify as a place to shop for that person who has just about everything! The unique shop opened its doors in Buckhead a year ago and specializes in rare, signed or first edition literature, as well as historical maps and prints from around the world. The gallery also holds a growing collection of Biedermeir furniture imported directly from Germany and a wide selection of beautiful Audubon prints. There are thousands of pieces in the shop’s inventory with collectibles starting under $100. In visiting, you are also in for a special treat as you’ll get to meet Tiki, an African Grey Parrot and the store’s mascot. Alex Branch, the proprietor, is a longtime collector of many items featured in the store and may provide quite an informative history lesson for those who are interested.

10,000 Villages on St. Charles is a great place for special hand-made gifts at very reasonable prices. It’s feel-good shopping since all the profits go to the artists and producers in 3rd-world countries. It’s almost impossible go walk out without buying something for yourself or others.

Tiffany’s. They’ve put a lot of thought into their stock so you don’t have to. They’re very accommodating. You can be in and out and heroic in 30 minutes. Victory.
