If your comments are any indication, Atlanta has a bumper crop of radio personalities that you love to hate — or in some cases, just downright loathe. There has to be a winner, though, and Neal Boortz was the runaway favorite, beating the second place finisher by more than 400 votes. Frank Ski is the worst DJ in Atlanta. No matter what anybody else says on the radio, he always has to out do them. When someone discusses where they are from, believe it or not he is from that place. Trust me all of Atlanta is really glad your wife is not having anymore babies right now, we don’t want to go that again. I don’t listen to the morning show at all which is why I never listen to v-103.

Frank Ski whole morning show. He always has to put a plug in on what he has. I listened to Hannity for a lot years and at one time agreed on some of his beliefs. Now I cannot stand the sound of his voice….more less anything he may be saying. Ryan and Frank on v-103. They both talk about their kids and wife to much. They talk about what they have and what they did to much. Frank has good advice sometimes but he does over talk people to get his point across and he has to be right all the time. Sometimes he seems uptight. Ryan is goofy. Because of all of the morons you have listed and the rest you did not list, I will stick to Sirius Radio. Not a single one of the politcal talking heads on the radio around here have any idea what they are talking about. The sports talk guys want to talk about Mike Vick every time I turn the radio on. Who cares? The DJ’s on the music stations are horrible. The Bert Show? C’mon…Atlanta hasn’t had a good radio show on a music station in decades and that can be proven. Not a single one of the shows ever makes any hits on the national ratings services. We have become the joke of the nation when it comes to radio and I for one have checked out on the entire mess. Sirius/XM is the only way to go.

I miss the old V103 format where people could call in for 2 hours instead of 30 minutes whenever they had a segment for comments. Frank talks the WHOLE entire time. I went to a private party where Frank Ski was DJing and he sucked. We were hoping that the DJ that was there before him came back. Can’t nobody I know dance to Michael Jackson’s I Want You Back. Yeah, you are right Nina and her facial expressions are horrible on the television show. I looked at it a couple of times and couldn’t take it anymore. She just has long hair and that is it.

Frank is but an outdated character who is likened to a pro athlete that just won’t leave the game. He is the Holyfield of radio, and he could not carry Mike Robert’s jock strap on his best day. His fake stuttering to get a point across and his inability to realize he can’t know every dang thing or everybody is a character flaw suggesting that he may have been breast fed too long or he didn not have a big brother to kick his punk butt around. Wanda needs to stop doing commericials period…because she sounds faker than fake, and can’t fathom a “conversational” tone. V nees to invest in a hooked on phonics cause she murders the English language at least 3 times a day. Nina…not worth the keystrokes. The Sophia thing is so played out that I can’t believe the management still thinks she/he/it is funny. I use the power of my CD player, but occasionally confirm what I have known for a long time. V-103 (except for Ryan) needs a massive overhaul….

Amen. I used to love listening to Ryan and Elle when they broadcast together, but ever since Elle got her own show Ryan has been boooooooring. He did like to joke on Elle alot come to think of it, but now that she’s gone his time slot is so wack. I dig Elle’s midday slot because her personality can let her stand on her own and I think she’s really funny. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ryan got cancelled by the end of the year, he’s too old, let some new talent get their shine on!

Definitely, Bert Weiss of “The Bert Show”. All his start-up conversations to get listener feedback are lame. The show is definitely better when he’s out sick/whining (hell, we had to endure his “crisis” whether the call back from his doctor over his common cold meant bad news, when the doctor was probably calling him to stop Bert from wasting his time. He’s got the classic Napolean Complex,’what I lack in stature, I’ll make up in annoying!’ No wonder his wife’s hooked on pain killers, imagine her anguish knowing her off-spring might grow up short and whiney. Hayden’s already showing signs of gayness, due to Dad’s hammy nature. It all boils down to this - when you’re 40-something, trying to run a Top-40 station morning show, you’re (as Heyden so deftly lisps) “Dooomed”

I think all urban radio needs an overhaul. Ricky Smiley, I won’t listen to, strait foolishness. Neil Bortz is an obvious choice because he’s the most successful at being radio’s biggest ‘whatever it is I’m against it’ agitator.
But Eric Von Heckler is the lamest and most deplorable of all. He exemplifies all that is wrong with the right wing media - substituting all the education he lacks with ignorance, and professing wisdom all the while. At least Larry has an intellect and wit and knows he’s gaming the system. I can’t listen for a minute any more. Eric clearly believes his own drivel and spewage and he assumes his listerners and dumb enough to as well. Maybe they are, I don’t know. Do they have any listeners?

I love the other morning personalities (Wanda and Miss Sophia) because they are so down to earth. I enjoy the show until he begins to speak and then I just turn the station or sometimes turn the radio off all together. It is wonderful to be an educated, intelligent, and well traveled man. V-103 needs a complete makeover. It’s become trash, nothing like the old days —back when it first started. Ryan is just a big silly kid …must be a lot of silly adults that enjoy him; Frank’s the only one with any class and his name droppin’ help him support a lot of good causes. I’ve never liked Wanda and feel she’s even worse on TV …ghetto to the bone. S/He Sophia’s alright, but not easy to take in the morning.
The DJ’s of V-103 are being pimped, they have more commercials than any other station and all the DJs talk too much …not to mention their personal them music which requires at least 15 mins of airtime. Tacky.
I wish radio would go back to free-flow …the DJ’s played music of their choosing and they didn’t’ talk so much. It’s all about ads and making money for the station.

This poll would take a month to finish out as there are a lot of candidates. Since Shapiro and Kincade have been mentioned so much (and deservedly so), I would like to nominate two others. First is David Pollack of 790. Here is a guy who can barely speak and has no or little knowledge about everything. He definitely give UGA a bad name as a student. He could not even get the date or month of Thanksgiving right….man is he just plain dumb. Secondly would be a tie between Buck Belue and Chris Dimino. Buck again like a UGA athlete, has very limited knowledge on anything except UGA sports and is extremely boring while Dimino always OVERANALIZES EVERYTHING while again boring his audience. Do you realize that every time 790 moves him to a certain time slot that the ratings book drops? Thank the Good Lord for XM or I would be the next one out of town….

I don’t listen to Shapiro, so I can’t comment. I will tell you that John Kincaid is by far one of the worst sports broadcasters I’ve heard in years. The fact that ESPN allows him on their nationwide show on Saturday mornings (periodically) is an embarrassment. This buddy “Buck” has no business in radio, period. 680AM could do much better than these two. That’s why I now listen to ESPN on SIRIUS.

Boortz and Hannity. Ms Sophia with rolling the 3. Tommy’s tip segment can be removed on Steve Harvey. Clark Howard talks too much about nothing. Answer the callers questions since you’re supposed to be helping the listeners. I’ve never known anyone like Clark who says he doesn’t sign contracts for anything. There’s no way around contracts. Clark says things but then doesn’t provide the inside information on how to get around it.
Tom Joyner talks over his guest to get his point across. I find this to be rude. Michael Baisden does this too. Callers sit on hold and when they get the opportunity to express their opinion, Michael Baisden jumps in. We know this your show, but if it wasn’t for the listeners, you wouldn’t have a show, so shut up and listen. Once you announce the caller then hear what they have to say.
Lastly, I don’t like when guest appear on the show, they only have 2 minutes, but the station plays 5 minutes of commercials, 2 songs and the guest has no time on air.

What is funny is all of these personalities you mention have very good ratings. Boortz and WSB are king of Atlanta radio, Frank Ski has one of the most listened to morning shows in Atlanta, and the sports talk guys from 790 are raking in the revenue compared to 680 and are beating them in most of the shows ratings particularly in the AM and lunch time hours - you know the ones with Steak Shapiro and the 2 Live Stews. Yeah seems like the entire city hates them. Oh and I this blog pretty much proves my point that liberals are the ones who are intolerant. V-103’s Elle: ever since she got her own show she’s been trying to get her own personality and it sucks and she’s SO boring. She was much better as a dim witted, not quite certain about the genre of radio she works for, sidekick to Ryan Cameron. NOW all of a sudden she’s so urban? Trust me I’ve listened to her transformation from clueless black-white girl being clued in by Ryan to all things black while being to butt of all his lame jokes, to her I’m so down because I host the Hawks games and host hip-hop parties while getting slithered on the radio on the weekends, you know-what-I’m-saying wack persona, it makes me want to slash my wrists. Her mid morning play list is so lame as she struggles to make you believe she actually knows all the music being played. Please get her out of here she makes my stomach hurt!!!! Uuuuuuugh, then there’s I know EVERY thing Frank-Ski. He is so self righteous and swears that he’s so astute about everything he needs to get off Bishop Eddie Longs sack. The inspirational vitamin is a joke and I don’t see how nor why the radio station co-signs people being forced to have it shoved down their throats daily especially since on Saturday nights he’s on the radio drunk as a skunk and you can tell because his words start to slur more and more as the party goes on talking about “Everybody make some nooooise!”, (His voice is so annoying!) then giving out his daily dose of inspiration after he’s been in the face of every woman in the club. He’s very condescending to Wanda and her opinions because his are always correct and he has knowledge of everything. I’m just glad she’s the only one who challenges him unfortunately her lack of vocabulary doesn’t allow her to go toe-to-toe with him the way I want her to. Who told him to actually televise his show so we can see his no neck, fat stomach self at night? It’s good to see though because now his loyal viewers can actually see the “you’re so dumb and I’m not” look on his face when they call into the show and he doesn’t subscribe to what the callers views are. Frank had on Calvin Klein draws this morning yall instead of Hanes. I forgot to mention he said that Tanya shops at Neiman’s. Well she left some change at the store. I have not seen anything that she has worn that wanna make me run and buy it. Her weave could be better. The reason why people listen to V-103 is because they have a strong signal. I can’t get any other signal when I get to work. His wife Tanya did the Holyfield on him by having all of those babies back to back. That is why he has to work so hard. If he leaves she knows that she will get paid. I love Ryan in the morning when he isn’t there. DJ Chip was awesome taking his place. I never heard him say that him/Wanda man get together and do stuff. He ain’t gonna never happen. He also talks about the women in his wife family but never the men such as uncles, etc, etc. He can’t stand being around real men that is why he hang around women because men can see through him.

The one radio personality or show that gets on my nerves is the Frank & Wanda + Miss Sophia…its becoming more and more boring and obsolete to listen to. Like other bloggers, if you have been in ATL for a while you will know that Frank Ski has cheated on his wife multiple times…he’s killing me when he does the inspirational vitamin segment and the next segment he’s talking about Esso’s for Sat night…Club & Church must go hand in hand I guess.
I truly miss Ryan Cameron on Hot 107.9. That was the livest morning show…not forgetting Paula on traffic, she did her thing as well.

Because of a comment made years ago by Wanda Smith on V103 - I stopped listenting. She went on her soap box about a person who is a baby’s mama is a step below a mother. I couldn’t believe she had the audacity to say that when she was a baby’s mother with her oldest son. I guess because she WAS married to Giovanni’s father that made her better. Now that he has divorced her she is once again a baby’s mother. She was worse than Newt pointing the finger at Clinton when he was a bonafide cheater himself. Her self-righteous attitude did it for me and it turned me off from the station. So my vote goes to Wanda Smith. We are the ones listening to the radio from 10-2 usually sitting at our desk at work. My radio is turned off during that time. She knows nothing about the old school songs she plays..shes just lame and needs MORE experience. Maybe it could work for her in about 5 years. Elle - I don’t know what her future will be but i absolutely LOVED her with Frank, I thought she was great. But as one would expect being new to her own show, she still doesn’t have her feet planted on the ground and you can tell when you listen. I loved Elle because she speaks properly which I thought was good for younger girls to look up to, but when she goes into that finger-snappin type talk, it drives me nuts - like it doesn’t even match her, she becomes regular at that point and it’s disappointing. There’s a few i’d like to list for this one: FrankSki - Old, outdated…he needs to find a new niche such as sticking to doing his kids foundation stuff, which he seems to be good at. His voice is just annoying, and he’s always right - no matter he is saying, argh!! Niecy? - Girl on from 12-4, on v-103(i believe)….OMG, that voice just absolutely hurts, i don’t know how she was hired!!! well I can say that I actually stopped listening to Frank Ski in the morning 2 years ago and from the posts on here everyone says the same things about him which is why I turned to another station that I enjoy now. he does NOT act like a married man in the clubs at all, he is too old for that and that os phoney!! Frank dont think we are haters because we all say the same thing. truly you are lame and need to stick to your Frank Ski Youth Foundation. Just dont talk to much to the kids because you think you know it ALL. I hope everyone who nominated Frank Ski has changed radio stations because to complain and still listen to him is pointless. I dont even bother to have my station set to him in the mornings.

The definitive list:
Larry Wachs, Southside Steve and Eric Von Hessler of the Regular Guys. Their show is terrible. Larry and Steve are so bigoted and racist, it’s amazing they’re allowed to stay on the air. At least with obnoxious Larry Wachs he’s so over the top that you can’t tell if its all just an act or not. With Southside Steve, the self-proclaimed Don Juan of Stockbridge, you know its not an act. He really is an idiotic redneck bigot with a ponytail.
Rickey Smiley. Everyone complaining about Frank Ski has obviously never listened to Rickey Smiley. He’s awful. Rarely funny, rarely has anything worth saying or listening to.
Durtty Boys (Hot 107.9). While their music is generally pretty decent, the “You just got let go” nightly segment is the lamest and most contrite bit on Atlanta radio.
Buck Belue. So much hate for Kincaid, but Belue is just as bad, if not worse. His voice is so annoying and he knows jack squat about sports. He and Kincaid are the reason why so many of us get conned into listening to the 2 live stews.
DJ Earl Smith, Album 88. The most obnoxious DJ on amateur college radio. If you’ve ever heard this guy, you know what I’m talking about.

Kincade is one the best, part of his job is to get under our skin and he’s great at it ! A lot of the time he is right. John is the “Roddy Piper” of Sports Talk Radio”. I get mad at him, then he makes me laugh my ass off. He works great with Buck. Buck is awesome also.
Chuck and Chernoff are the best, I could listen to Chuck all day while i’m driving. Chris Dimino is a walking baseball reference guide.

WSB Radio executives who alloted time for the Sean Hannity show to run in Atlanta should cancel the contract. After President Obama was elected, Sean demonstrates pure hatred of our President. He only allows a very few people on the air and most of the allowed are only a repeat of something that has happen in the past. The noise he makes when someone makes a mistake or falls for a fraudulent deal is for the people in the state mental hospital. I was sitting in an upper deck outfield seat at a Braves game in 1996 when Neal Boortz showed up and sat in the row behind me. (I still can not understand why he was in the cheap seats.) I started badgering him in a very low key manner(no foul language) on an intellectual leverl and he got real loud, made a scene, said I was rude and told my group he was “a big time radio personality” (no kidding)and he was going to have security escort me out. The wimp left and never returned. The dude is a gutless little man, he has no sack; and is all talk. How appropriate.

Frank Ski, I give him props for the Kids Foundation. But he at times puts down women and for a man who proclaims to be a christian, he agrees to what the men do to women here in Atlanta and blame women for all the doggy things men do. He asks and then answers his own dam questions…ridiculous!

The Frank and Wanda Show. Wanda curses waaaayyyyy too much and Sophia is just a Tranny! My boys are still trying to figure why a man is trying to be a woman. I can’t even let my kids listen to 103. Now 95.5 is their station. How can you guys preach the betterment of our kids and feed this trash to them. Wanda…cussing doesn’t MAKE the joke funny! And Frank, how do you square introducing a transvestite to our youth as a normal aspect of life? (and don’t try to play it off as a comedy routine) As much as Boortz grates on my nerves I routinely choose him or Steve Harvey for the last couple of years. The Morning Show has degenerated into a Minstrel Show. Unfortunately, y’all paint the “Black’ portrait for others to judge us by.

I admire what V103 does for the community and I do not wish for anyone to lose their job, but Frank Ski is very very boring. I say that because on my way to work, I listen to the Tom Joyner show and I have tears in my eyes and can’t wait until I get to work and all of us are discussing what they discussed. I need to be cheered up on my way to work. I don’t like that Wanda is sooo judgemental when she is shaking with a “fiance”. She is always getting on women about gettin married before you have a baby, but the only difference you are doing is that you are not getting pregnant. You are still fornicating. Everybody is saying Frank brags too much, but Wanda does the same. She brags on her kids, boyfriend and lifestyle like everything is perfect. I am not hating, its just that I live check by check and I know you did once in your life time, but I catch you sometimes saying “oh, I am not having financial problems”. We all know that, but you don’t have to remind us several days in the week.Just remember you can be brought back down. Act like everyday maybe your last day at work.

I think that far more obnoxious than any talk show host are people who post on blogs IN ALL CAPS. Quit yelling at us, please? And learn some grammar and punctuation. Also, some of you include Hannity and Limbaugh though they clearly are syndicated nationally and not Atlanta-based, which I take as the intention of the blog. Some folks don’t understand the whole national-local thing and probably think Oprah works right out of the Channel 2 studio. But regardless, there is a very easy way to avoid the grating voice on the radio: Just turn the dial. They also have these new things out there called “CDs” which play music without a babbling DJ. If that’s too high-tech for you, there are cassette tapes or maybe even 8-tracks. Or just hum softly to yourself as you drive.

Jeff from the Bert show, nothing really to talk about but he talks anyway; just a white Jabba the Hutt, if you want to give some pupose to this guy give him an on air ultimatum: loose the tonnage or get out the door (if he would fit: you may have to lower him out a window).

All hands down is Jeff from the Bert show. He has nothing intelligent to say. Besides it being the worse morning show, Jeff makes, he brings the I.Q of the whole radio show. I know he is head producer, he should just stay behind the scenes. He is the worse! Especially, when he calls other people fat. Pot meet Kettle.
