Are you a “Wire” head?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The fourth season of the critically-acclaimed HBO series “The Wire” is now available on DVD, just in time for a healthy dose of holiday drama and wrongdoing.
The series focuses on the streets, politics and troubled schools of Baltimore.
Are you a “Wire-head”? How would you have rewritten season four? Would you have included a showdown between Marlo and Omar? Reserved a nice flat in the “Vacants” for Snoop and Chris? Let Bodie live? What about Dukie, Randy, Michael, and Namond?
The fifth - and final- season debuts in January and will deal with the media. What loose ends would you like to see tied up in season five? Although the shows creators said there won’t be a sixth season, what are your ideas? Someone once suggested a showdown between the Baltimore crews and crews from Central and South America. (Are you listening HBO? )

I have been a “WIRE” head since its conception. I am totally hooked. Thinking about what really goes on in their world had really made me think about the way I raised my son and daughter. I think Michael is going to rise, and be the one who is the star. Omar is the man, but he will fall. HBO please keep it going.

The writing is why I love The Wire. I don’t think I would change anything. I’m sad to see it go. It seems all the good and gritty shows on HBO have gone.

This show is amazing. The prior season was the best so far. Unfortunately not many people watch it.

My husband got me into the Wire & now I love it - if any HBO exectutives are reading this PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE WIRE OFF THE AIR - I mean let’s be real, HBO doesn’t have much going for it in the way of programming these days anyway.
But then again if HBO does take The Wire off, I can save myself some money cuz I won’t need HBO anymore, all their best shows have been cancelled.
Anyway, although I doubt I would rewrite anything cuz this show is great as is, I wish Stringer Bell had never been killed, nor the nephew. But then again, that’s how it is, some peeps die & some take over. Of course I’d love for Bodie to live but his death made sense to the storyline.
Can’t wait to see how Michael reigns supreme in the next season!

I would rewrite Bodie being killed off. He was my favorite character. I would also change Omar’s sexual orientation. I really hate those gay sex scenes. Other than that, nothing. The show is incredible, and if you don’t watch it, you are completely ignorant.

Great, great series, love it. Wouldn’t change a thing. Omar is one bad dude. It really is too bad that more people don’t “get” it. Over there heads it seems, or too real?

I absolutely “Love” The Wire. It is my favorite show. I often have Wire marathons where I watch the reruns that are available On Demand.
I would love to see Michael and Duquan rise to be the next Avon Barksdale and Stringer Bell.
Marlo is my favorite character and Snoop and Chris add so much grittiness. Whenever you see them on the screen you know someone is about to die.
This is one of the best series that HBO has had. I will hate to see it go.

Take out the stereotypical black lesbian chick, and put a hot white hetero one in the show instead. But I know: Hollywood has to put a gay character in everything these days so they can force the lifestyle down our throats (pun intended).

The Wire is one of the best shows created in my humble opinion. It’s real. It shows a slice of what goes on behind closed doors or eyes. It’s truthful to a realm that many don’t want to see. As stated in previous posts. This show will be truly missed after the last season. My wife and I both look forward to watching the show and it has become a staple program at our house!!
LONG LIVE OMAR!!!! LOL

**THERE IS NOTHING TO REWRITE
It’s the show’s creator, David Simon who decided to end the show after this season; not HBO.**
I’m not suprised by the right-wing Larry Craig wannabes complaining about Omar being gay. But the only gay sex scene I can remember was the scene where Kima was going to town on that other chick’s tatas like an ice cream cone on a hot Summer day. Sure there may be a bit of man kissing, but jeez, you homophobes really need to stop acting like it’s contagious.

I’m disappointed that Michael fell under Snoop and Chris and poor Randy got hung out to dry Marlo needs to get what’s coming to him.

I wouldn’t change a thing about The Wire. I started watching after I was flipping through the channels and caught an episode during Season 4. I was hooked. I went back and watched all of the seasons. I can honestly say that The Wire is the best show on television. No offense to The Sopranos, but it’s a shame more people did not get into this show. I will definitely be watching the last season. It’s a shame that programs on this nature end while we get more and more crap labeled reality television….

Won’t it be great when we find out that Bunk was a crooked cop and in Prop Joe’s pocket all along!!!

Nah, but there will be a showdown between Prop Joe and Marlo. Marlo already doesn’t trust him I guess Avon’s gang is done. Bodie, dead. Stringer, dead. Avon in jail. Slim Charles, working for Marlo now. I don’t see how they can wrap things up in one season but i guess that’s the streets. no clean endings.

I love this series. Starting 12/17 there will be episodes ON DEMAND that will give background information on Prop Joe, Bunk, McNulty and Omar. http://www.hbo.com/apps/hodschedule/hod/search.do?PAGE_INDEX=2 I can not wait until January 6th.

Was in Baltimore two weeks ago and feel they should dig into the towers where the rich professionals live, right over Inner Harbor. The slingers stay away from there and Fells Point across the harbor but that’s where the real money comes from that buys the drugs that finances the street. Other than the season with the Russians in the container, they have managed to bypass Baltimore’s claim to fame — door after door of strip clubs right by City Hall. That is one gritty city. Maybe throw in a gun battle over a bushel of crabs, too.

To whom it may concern:
I am a resident of Rivermont subdivision, and I am deeply concerned about an ongoing deception that has been occuring over the last few years. It concerns a very questionable individual, (the webmaster), and his wife, whom was illegally appointed to a long term board position on the Rivermont HOA without proper election: (a sitting board menmber cannot be appointed to another term in an homeowner elective board).
Their website rivermontnews.com, claims to represent the Rivermont HOA, but in fact is the work product of a twisted, hateful, and bigoted person. He has insulted, made fun of, name called, and targeted with slurs: residence whom are dissenting board members; residence whom are minority’s; residence whom are handicapped; residence whom are jewish, and those who have children. All on the prmise that they are destructive to the community, and (apparently)for political manuevering. This team is in bed with the owner of the Rivermont Country Club, which is privately owned, and its owners whom have recently started cannabalizing the community to build townhouses, in what used to be low density residential zoning. Apparently, his goal is to redevelop the whole (existing) golf course to high density property. This would have a huge negative impact on the existing Rivermont residence home values. The Rivermont Country Club owners have found (and funded) the webmaster and his wife and are using them as a propaganda machine to mislead Rivermont Homeowners, and to quash any resistance to his very destructive (but personally lucrative) development plans.
The “webmaster” poses as other people and has staged internet chats, to make it appear that other people are sharing the opinions of his “team”. The pseuodonym “guest” is actually the owner of the Rivermont CC. The pseudonym “visitor” is actually the webmaster himself, having fake banter about issues with himself. Other pseudonyms he uses are: “Snoop”; “Jerry”, etc. One of the frequent contributors to his website (S.B-K) “Phished” my email, and have baited others with this illegal activity, which I have reported to the G.B.I.
This webmaster was charged with federal mail and wire fraud, not the kind of person I want on my team. He has no visible means of support. He apparently is up all night posting his website, since many posts are midight to 3 am, which no-one with real responsibility can do. With the rash of break-ins and crime in the neighborhood it leads me to believe these people may have some involvement.
In closing, I would like to ask your help in raising the Rivermont homeowners awareness in this odious and deplorable situation by publishing this letter. And to the homeowners that use this horrible site: please stop patronizing these people, and stop using the site.
name witheld for confidentiality.
