I got some gift cards from Lowes so I am going out tomorrow and using them and cash to purchase a 12 inch compound miter saw. The Christmas present I wanted this year.

I’m a lot more into giving than receiving, but this year I received some great stuff! I received some movie gift cards, socks, cologne,a gift card to buy more clothes and 100,000 frequent flyer miles. Someone thinks that I was a good boy this year!

some money. I am not into doing much now for Christmas. We have to live for the next day; Pay our bills.

I had to learn not to be a slave to credit card interest.

I had no clue what I wanted until I found out the silver Tiffany bracelet I liked on everybody else came in 18kt gold. I asked for that and my very special husband got it for me. I don’t wear silver and I really liked those tag bracelets. I love it!!! Merry Christmas!!!!

We got to see the look on our daughter’s face when she saw that she had gotten a car for Christmas - priceless. My husband and I stopped exchanging gifts a couple of years ago and it works for us. We spend the day together and visit with our 90 year old Aunt every Christmas - we give her gifts.

I love to watch others open gifts, but I was rather moved when my daughter gave me ” The Best of the Waitresses”CD. This group was so under rated in the 80’s. I played their music as a college DJ at WRAS and it brought back many great memories.

And a ticket for going too fast. Payback starts next monday. God helps the idiots, I have no mercy.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

I ended up with a few DVDs, and pearls. I got to spend the whole day with my siblings, boyfriend and soon-to-be-3-year-old. It was good, but to be honest, I was secretly hoping for an engagement ring. I guess he’s got a few more months before I start to wonder about it…

I got to spend Christmas eve with my coworkers my roomates Christmas morning and my immediate family in the afternoon. I realized how much I am loved and it did not matter how many presents I received. That to me is a gift and I must be doing something right in my life to receive it back

I had a lot more fun giving. It’s always more enjoyable for me to watch others open up their gifts. I drove my husband crazy because when he asked what I wanted I said I have everything I need. There’s nothing really out there that I wanted, or had to have. Why fill my shelves with needless junk.

I actually got a box of rocks. I was sort of dumbfounded but I had been sort of mischievious this year (but in a good way). But then I realized underneath the rocks was a gift certificate to my favorite store. My mom put the rocks in the box to keep me from guessing what was in the box since I have a tendency to shake my presents.

We had a wonderful Christmas; low key, good food and drink, and family all together. I received an amazon Kindle electronic reader, which is awesome and I love it, love it, love it!!! However, my favorite gifts were the happy faces of those I gave random surprise gifts to in the weeks before Christmas. And the more I gave the more I received back! Happy New Year Y’all!!

My son came home from his second deployment in Iraq just in time for Christmas. It is the first time I’ve been able to celebrate with my entire family since 1999, when he first joined the Army. It may have been a quiet Christmas, with just the immediate family, but I couldn’t have asked for better than waking up to see my son sitting by the Christmas tree, the same way he did when he was six.

I got some nice things: cash, gift cards; but the best thing I received was time spent with my baby niece, and her playing with the new toys I gave her for Christmas.

We also had a credit free Christmas…

My parents gave my husband, son, and I $600 so we put that towards a 50” plasma. Now…I feel funny owning something like that. The TV it replaced was a 15 year old Toshiba in good working order. Only its sound technology was out of date and the darn thing was either blowing our roof off or impossible to hear. But, since we watch a lot of movies (but not TV) we think we will really enjoy it.

I bought my husband a 5 day weather forecaster from Brookstone because he likes those things a lot.

And he was very thoughtful and bought me a really great pair of hiking shoes. I do a LOT of walking and I think it’s romantic that he knew enough about me and what I like to base his gift off of it.

For our son who is 6 we bought him some new camo pants, a skateboard, a new video game for his V.smile, and some books.

And we bought a few things from a local art store for relatives.

All paid for by our Savings Account and not a dime on credit! That’s probably the best of all.

We didn’t get ot be with family this year which was the only drawback. We did the next best thing and invited all the “strays” to our house for a Christmas Eve bash. So, no one was lonely!

Happy New Year, All!!!!

Christmas just ain’t Christmas without the ones you love! Made a list of what I wanted and asked for 86 items ranging from DVDs to an iphone. Got 59 of them including the iphone! My own shopping list had 24 people on it, ended up buying for 16 of them. God is good, God is great, I can’t wait for Christmas 2008!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with the family ~ my grandfather is in his late 80’s and we worry/wonder that his Christmas’s are winding down (he is my special special guy). However, my feelings were very hurt on Christmas Day when my husband didn’t get me any gifts ~ not even a “For My Wife” card from Wal-Mart… made me sad. After 18-years of wonderful holidays, he totally dropped the ball this year….

I got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my kids and granddaughter. It was wonderful! They gave me the vacuum I wanted for so long, and my son gave me a “massage/heat” chair pad for my computer chair. I may never leave the computer again! LOL My 4 1/2 y.o. granddaughter had the best time of all, playing with her new toys and eating grandma’s cooking.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 EVERYONE!!! May it be safe, happy and properous for you all.

Dawn, I know how you feel! Last year my husband couldn’t think of anything to get me so he didn’t do anything at all, not even a card. My feelings were hurt that he couldn’t think about who I am long enough to figure out what I would like. And I told him so.

I guess that’s why this year he thought about how much I walk and got me shoes!

Did you tell your husband how hurt you felt when he didn’t even extend the smallest gesture? You should.
