Prom ‘08: It’s all about the place!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
When it comes to the prom, location is everything.
Swank hotels and the Fox Theatre are hot. The school gym is not.
The AJC is compiling a list of prom locations. Read about it here
If your school is missing from our list, we want to know about it.
Where and when will your prom be this year? And tell us what you think of these locations.
Where was your prom and what year was that?

GSU Eagles: I was going to say the same thing. Starr’s Mill had its prom at Fernbank in 2002. This is not new!

This is not any ground breaking news. My prom 13 years ago was also held in the Egyptian Ballroom at the Fox Theater.

good — i thought i was the only one reading this going where has this person been? repeat — this is not ground breaking news — upscale venues have been around for at least 20-30 years maybe even longer since class of 66 had their jr/sr at druid hills golf club — daugher’s (‘02) venues were always somewhere downtown plus a dinner at some upscale restaurant — $$$$$$ only after they have been off to college and on their own do they realize what a waste it all was!!! (well maybe just the hair/nails/facial/limo!!

I graduated from Dunwoody High School in 2006, and my junior year I was on the prom planning committee. We looked at the fox, the aquarium and a number of hotels, our budget was around $20,000 and we ended up having it at a hotel downtown (honestly, can’t remember which one we decided on).
My sophomore year it was at the 755 club at turner feild (cost over $30,000 i think). My senior year we held it at the 12 hotel in atlantic station.
This is in no way breaking news. I haven’t ever heard of anyone having a prom in their gym in recent years.
