Mariah Carey releases 11th studio album Tuesday

Mariah Carey, the singer known for her glass-shattering high notes, wetsuit-tight minidresses and one very public career meltdown, has a new album in stores Tuesday. It’s called “E=MC2” but has nothing to do with frizzy-haired physicists. In this case the equation stands for the “emancipation of Mariah Carey to the second power”; you can’t produce those results in a lab, but still, we’re glad her emancipation is still going strong since her last album.
Relatively speaking, of course.
She uses lots of Atlanta talent on the new record. (Click here for a gallery of who helped her out.)

I don’t think it’s Photoshop, if you’re referring to her appearance. You should have seen her on Oprah this afternoon. She looked AMAZING!!

ugh. She needs to just go away. Her single “Touch My Body” is just raunchy. She barely sings anymore, just breathes heavily on tape. She’s trying way to hard and comes off as a washed up diva. Its a shame since she used to be really good…

I’m totally disappointed that a gifted singer has presented yet another sub-par project. The material just gets worse and worse. We hear less good singing and creative lyrics but see more photos and naked skin. Is she an artist/musician, or a model/stripper?

I think the album is great. Granted, I love her old style just as much, if not more, than what she’s doing now but… it’s been almost 20 years since Vision of Love. People change… I think she’s fabulous. The sexiness is second to the music—at least, she can really sing. With others, all they have is sexiness and THAT’S annoying.
