Six Flags ticket price takes plunge

While the cost of food and fuel is going up, the price of fun is going down.

Six Flags Over Georgia on Tuesday announced a $10 price cut for a regular adult admission ticket — from $49.99 to $39.99. The price reduction is for the rest of the 2008 season.

The Cobb County amusement park — home to 10 roller coasters including Superman: Ultimate Flight and The Great American Scream Machine — is currently open weekends. Full time operations are May 23 through Aug. 10.

I guess they have to drop the price some since they removed Dejavu(imo, the best ride in the park). I agree with the above poster….too many young thugs cutting in line and need their mouths washed with soap. I have no need to ever go back.

It’s way past time, if you ask me. They have been “OVERPRICED” since they opened. People with 2 or 3 children can’t afford to go when they have to pay for their tickets and the kids too. Six Flags should reduce the price of the kids tickets as well!!

They also need to consider lowering the price of parking, which at $15 last year, is an even bigger rip-off. I don’t think Disney is even that expensive to park, and Six Flags is no Disney/Epcot, etc.

They have no choice. When I was 14-17 I would get a season pass every year. It was fun, safe, etc. Now, due to the illegals, gangs, and thugs, they even have to have metal detectors at the enterance. How sad is that? Why do they ruin or mess up everything? At least I still have Disney to take my kids to where it is still safe. Why? Because the thugs, gangs, and illegals can’t afford to go to Orlando often.

Deja Vu was the best ride in the park? You must of been one of the five people who got to ride it during the one hour over the past five years that it wasn’t broken!

As for line-jumpers, you are right. Every time I’ve been to Six Flags in the past few years (which, I concede has only been a few times) I have been amazed at the amount of unsupervised children and teenagers running around, breaking into lines, spewing obscenities, and hitting on each other. It really has gone down hill since the eighties.

I wouldn’t waste my money. It is a dirty park where trouble makers hang out and cause trouble. The food is terrible and cost a fortune. I would rather spend my money going to Disney where the parks are clean and the food (while not too expensive) is good. Also, don’t have to worry about the trouble makers. I remember the CEO stating a year or more ago that they were going to revamp the parks and return them to a more family friendly park….what happened!!!

I used to work in management in the theme park industry. In my opinion, Six Flags has always been poorly managed. As far as their prices go, they are definitely overpriced, but then again, most places are.

Last time I went to Six Flags was about 3 years ago when I took a group from church. I would agree that many of the thug type teens in attendance made it much less family friendly. I was very disappointed.

Personally, I have three kids and I am not sure that the cost of going is worth it when there are other things we could do that would be so much less expensive. If you want the ticket prices to go down, don’t go until they do. If attendance drops significantly, they will be forced to lower prices.

I will not spend any more money at Six Flags. They could make it free for all I care. The park is trashy, the workers sullen, the food horrible, the prices exorbitant, the lines long, the crowd disgusting, parking prices outrageous and as for the person who said Deja Vu was the best ride…are you kidding?! It was never open! Who knows if it was any good or not?

Moved here in the late 70’s and Six Flags was the BOMB. For the last 15 years or more, it’s gone steadily downhill. It’s filthy, over-crowded and run by morons.
Want to go to a REAL amusement park? Try Busch Gardens in Tampa. It’s a classy place with something for everyone! Six Flags will NEVER get my money again.

By Markus

Yes, they are very overpriced. The tickets should be 19.99 adults, 9.99 children, 4 and under (FREE). And also, my neice used to work there. They should be under investigation for the way they treat their teen employees. And Dammit, make the rides big enough so that my booty can fit in the seat!

By Tommy

April 29, 2008 3:11 PM | Link to this

Six Flags is filthy!! Remember when the people on roller skates constantly swept up the trash? The food is expensive, gross, and just try to find a clean table to sit down and eat. They need to visit Disney and learn how to run a theme park. The need a free “fast pass” system instead of sucking more money from their guest.

By ExWKLS

April 29, 2008 3:13 PM | Link to this

The only solution for Six Flags: no one under age 18 is allowed into the park without an adult over age 25. No more than four kids to each adult.

It’s the only way. Too bad we’ve come to this point, but the kids today are not anything like the kids of just twenty years ago.

By Fun

The question I keep asking (and would be asking if I managed Six Flags) is: Why don’t you see the line cutting at Disney? Why don’t you hear the profanity? What is different about a Disney park that keeps trouble-makers at bay? The answers to these questions are the keys to Six Flags’ future.

Every year it seems as though Six Flags makes superficial improvements, but continues to provide only a mediocre experince. The answer is not more rides or different prices. They must create an environment where “thugs” feel utterly unwelcome and uncomfortable. You do this with cleanliness, landscaping, food quality, air conditioned facilities, and security personnel. But most of all, you do it with employees who are smiling, helpful, and whose pants do not sag.

Again, I still want to know why the thugs ruin everything? Examples? Clayton County schools (the board), Grady, Atlanta PD, DeKalb PD, the city of Atlanta, Six Flags, Buckhead, etc. You can bring out the “racist” card but all I have done is spoken the truth.

Well gee guys..I never been to six flags..really would like to go but after reading this blog it sounds like lot like coney island in nyc. I quit going to coney island when i was a teenager thats how bad it was. last time i went i was 16. I have heard horror stories of six flags but now I am sure of it..I will spend my 40 dollars elsewhere..like put it in my gas tank..take a long drive, pack a picnic lunch.load up the car with goodies..load up my dependent and drive around the fair city of atlanta until i get tired which is about after an hour and a half. then back home..keep the rest of my dollars in my pocket..miss the crowds and crazy teenagers..it aint even worth the stress. thats not having a good time and blowing yur money and getting nothing in return. And if theres one thing thats a pet peeve of mine..sour faced workers with an attitude..that really ticks me off and my money is keeping their azzes employed there.

i was a cast member at disney world for 4 years in attractions and food and beverage. when i heard that six flags was getting back to a more family friendly atmosphere i was thrilled. but nothing changed. it’s still trashy and over-crowded with thuggish teenagers. not to mention 16 year olds running roller coasters. as someone who has worked in the industry i know what kind of safety procedures are supposed to be followed and i’ve never really seen it done there. and the guest service is non-existent. i have seen people in line at closing time turned away from rides. how rude?! that would never happen at disney world.

I couldn’t agree more with the comments above. If I was allowed to pack my pistol in my waistband I might consider going, but I refuse to put my life on the line to wait for two hours to ride a 50 second roller coaster.

Wasn’t it just last year a kid was beaten within an inch of his life by a gang of thugs right at the front gate?

No thanks. I’ll find somewhere else to spend my money.

I was at Six Flags the year it opened and was a season ticket holder from the time I moved back to Atlanta until a few years ago. It was, and the key word is was, a great place to take my kids for the same fun I had. No more. I am not going to spend my money and my time in a place that is in chaos, is dirty and is run down. The employees in the old days were polite and were helpful. There was never any trash around. The paint was fresh. None of those are true now. Six Flags was built as a park that was to be there for ten years and has held on until now. I wonder why we don’t have competition in a area with this population. It would force Six Flags to become family friendly or it would force Six Flags to close. Amusement parks live and die on the family business and I am afraid that is leaving Six Flags. I feel that is a pity because I would love to revisit the fun I have known so much of my life, but they won’t see me or my kids there again unless there are drastic changes for the better. I can plan a trip to Dollywood or to Orlando. Both leave me with good memories.

Hey red.

Sorry for giving you a socio-political platform with which to campaign for “gay rights”.

I guess you don’t realize that sometimes people come across these blogs and post randomly, trying to think up a name to post under. I oftentimes just use something in the article to go off of. I chose to use and ampersand rather than spell the real word. It’s no different than anyone else who may use a coded word for any other expletive they want to say on a blog.

If you want to somehow make me out to be some type of homophobe, go right ahead, it doesn’t change the fact that it is a word, just the same as flag, just minus the “l”.

I very well realize that the term “thug” is the new code term for n!@@er, yet you haven’t seen me attack people for their use of it (though I don’t necessary like or agree with it - and I am Black by the way). Get over yourself, so I don’t have to waste my time debating socio-political agendas and rant like everyone else.

At least with Deja Vu being broken and closed all the time, I wouldn’t have to waste my time standing in line. I think I’ve only gone on Superman once where it didn’t break when I was next to go. I wouldn’t mind paying the admission price if the park was cleaned up and overhauled and made it worthy of the cost.

Oh, and the current ads they’re using are doing nothing to encourage me to visit.

We travel to Disney one to two times a year. But, we haven’t been to Six Flags in years. They have lousy kids (2yrs - 8yrs) rides and the park is not clean, and the staff clearly has not been trained to put the customer first. The Thomas the Train ride is a step in the right direction. If I was a teenager, I would probably love it. But as an adult with small children, I see no reason to visit.

I was born and raised in Georgia. I grew up going to Six-Flags as a kid. Last year, I took my kids there - it was the first time I had been back in 10 years - it was CULTURE SHOCK. Indifferent teenagers operating rides with one hand and chatting on cell phones with the other. The only time they would put the cell phones down was to let one of their friends climb over the rails and break in line. Trash everywhere. Difficulty getting any service at the concessions, except when the teens running the concessions would give away free food to their friends. No wonder they are having to cut prices. I tried to find an adult supervisor to complain when the train was held up by the teen operator so another teen could grab the mike and yell into it trying to find one of their common friends “Denita - girl! You on here? Where you at girl?” I tried finding an adult in a park uniform to complain - couldn’t find one. Needless to say, I will never go back, even for free. No telling what tragedy will have to happen before the places finally gets closed down.

Thug -noun 1. a cruel or vicious ruffian, robber, or murderer.
2. (sometimes initial capital letter) one of a former group of professional robbers and murderers in India who strangled their victims.

I dont see any mention of black or white in here. Your making that association. There are thugs of every color. Many of who hang out at SixFlags.

Sorry, dude. rationalize it all you want, but using the name “Six F@gs” certainly hints at homophobia, whether it actually exists or not. If you’re going to choose to use an inflammatory name like that, you shouldn’t get mad if people react to it. It’s what you intended when you chose it!

What happened on I-20 last year (or was it two years ago) is a perfect example of why the park is no longer a good place for families. There is simply no oversight by management, and the security is scarce. The park is dirty, the lines are long, the prices are exceptionally high.

The only people who go to Six Flags now are out-of-towners who don’t know any better, and teenagers who are there because their parents don’t know what else to do with them.

Six Flags: triple your security team immediately. Triple your grounds staff immediately. The cut in admission prices is a great move… now follow it up with a cut in concessions prices. Repaint the entire park, and institute attendance caps so that the place is not overrun. Place strict limits on unaccompanied teenagers, as noted in above posts. Retrain your staff so that they dress appropriately and are polite to the guests, instead of acting like walking zombies with sagging pants. Follow these directions and maybe, just maybe, those of us who live here in Atlanta will return. Until then, I just can’t do it. It’s just not worth it.

chris - the only person that brought out the race card is you. So my question to you is why are you associating race with gangs and thugs - when they come in all colors, shades and RACES. Why do you choose to blame everything on thugs? Did it not cross your minds for one minute that maybe the management has a hand in Six Flags being the way it is? Not all teenagers are thugs and the sterotype is ridicalus we all know who you are referring to. I do agree that the crowds make it uncomfortable for families like my own but instead of you using this opportunity to bash a whole class of people why haven’t you come up with some suggestions to turn the situation around. I agree with the person who suggested having adult supervision requirements (Since it is a theme park and not a day-care) or better security all together would be a better option then you trying to pack your pistol in your waist band so you say. I would hate for that to happen and you accidently shoot yourself while enjoying your thug induced ride. such ignorance!!! Oh and by the way the thugs seem to be the only ones not complaining about the price.

Six Flags, has unfortunately become a place where parents can pay for a season pass & drop their kids off all summer. Cheap daycare. To ITAMAZESME. I see that you are also in denial. What did I say that was racist? I said thugs, who are 95% black, always mess everything up. Disney is a 95% white crowd. Do you see any problems there? Nope. Look at East Cobb, where it is 95% white. Now look at good ole SW DeKalb, where it is 99.9% black. Where do you hear about shootings and murders daily? It is not racist, just the truth. Blacks MESS THINGS UP. You had a fun Buckhead party area who catered to mostly young, white young adults. Never was there a problem. Then, blacks saw the fun, moved in, and started shooting people which forced the downhill start of Buckhead. WHY?

Here’s the only way to get rid of the groups of gangs/thugs who are terrorizing the park …

RAISE THE PRICES!!!!

Then the busloads of unsupervised thugs from Atlanta & Birmingham won’t be able to afford the admission price!

And get rid of season passes so the grown-up thug parents of the thuglets don’t have three months of free baby-sitting!

  • Improve the quality of employees!
  • Lower the price of parking!
  • CLEAN THE PLACE UP!
  • Increase security!
  • Lower the price of food & drink!

Oh, never mind … just bulldoze the place & build a mixed-use community dedicated to celebrating diversity!

Wow, I guess it’s been a long time since I was last at Six Flags! I think I went around 2002 or so, and it was fine, I even had a really good time, AND I got to ride Deja Vu - the most intense coaster I’d ever ridden - I was dizzy for a long time after that one. I had no idea the park had gone so downhill since then. It’s sad.

I, like some of the other posters here, went to Six Flags as a child when it opened over 40 years ago, and grew up going there each summer. We went as teens, and acted as teens will act, but I remember no “thugs”. Is there actual bullying now? Threats to strangers from kids? We used to spit from the cable cars, does that count as “thug” activity? Kids will be kids, but trash is unacceptable.

In my middle age I can’t really tolerate coasters anymore, so I can’t see I’d get anything out of a visit, and if it’s as bad as everyone here says it is, well, I’ll remember my pasts visits fondly and that’s enough for me.

SF Management cannot handle the “thugs” or any other trouble making park visitors. Maybe that is why they are lowering their prices. If SF did a management and staff overhaul with new training, the park amy actually be a fun place to go again. For now, I’ll give my money to Disney World anyday.

In defense of Six Flags, we attended with our pre-schooler during spring break and had a great time. For all of those individuals complaining about the rude kids/teenagers at Six Flags, ponder on this thought. Those same kids that are disrespectful, use profanity, cut lines, etc., those are the same kids that belong to productive citizens as myself, to you or to friends and family. They also live in my neighborhood, your neighborhood, and your friends neighborhood but it’s always someone else’s child that is causing the problem. Thugs were in there back in the 70s as well… my best friend and I, both 16 at the time, were attacked by a dozen + thugs, right in front of the Mind bender entrance, by the railroad track. FOR NO REASON! It was the Mind Benders first year.

We held our own for approx 45 secs, until the Auburn univ O-line saved us… they were visiting that day. But we did still do damage to them on our own. Seems like it was the other day.

OH… it wasn’t a hate crine though, Kevin and I are white, those losers were all black, but it wasn’t a hate crime(wink, wink).

I don’t know why they are lowering the price. THey should raise it, like someone else said. The Thugs can’t afford $125.00 ticket or a $30.00 lunch or a $200 hotel room or $25.00 dolloar parking or $400 worth of gas….OH Yeah thats more then a $1000 for two peolpe for one day and one night at that park in Florida. I can’t afford that for a family of 4 either. Oh and I live in florida. Most people don’t know how good they have it.

* One guy (post somewhere around 3:20pm) suggested the park was run by thugs then said that he wasn’t racist just telling the truth. Sounds pretty racist to me. Since when is thug and any minority group synonomous?* One thing to ponder. Many of these “ghetto” “thugs” you clowns conplain about are your kids. The children of the less fortunate are not the ones invading six flags. it’s the middle class wannabees raised by most of you causing all of the trouble.

It is still not even worth the discounted price. Six Flags used to be a very well run place to go but the workers now have bad attitudes, it is dirty, weeds all in the flower beds, trash in the streets and the clientele is pretty much what you would expect in that part of the metro area. Lowering the price will just allow more trashy people to go. This in turn, will only dissuade families and good kids to not go.

Hate to disappoint but Chris is right, the thugs are majority black kids. I remember Buckhead was the place to be a few years ago, not anymore. The thugs are also at your local malls, with their pants down to their ankles. Why? Why can’t their parents raise them to be respectable citizens like most kids are instead of low life street gangsters. Sorry that the rest of you feel we are racist but the truth is the truth. Disney World is sucessful because most of us 95.5% white folks act like we have common sense, we have respect for others and want to succeed in life. Get over it, educate your thuglets and maybe they will not be looked at as just thugs but model citizens instead.

Holy CRAP! What happened to this place? Not that Six Flags was ever the most affordable or efficently ran amusement park in the world but I always had so much fun there… now I am completly disheartened to find out what a nightmare it would be go go there with some friends and relive riding the Scream Machine and the Mind Bender like it was 1991. That is really sad— why the hell don’t they do soemthing about it? Everyone had so many great ideas to improve on the place.

I grew up in Marietta and had a Season’s Pass every year. My parents would drop us off in the morning and pick us up at night without a worry in the world. We were always safe and never felt threatened. Today is a different day.

Six Flags management could fix the problem with the thugs. When you enter that park you are on private property. Six Flags has every right to maintain dress policies and code of conduct rules. Security should be beefed up and violaters kicked out.

I used to work in management at White Water years ago (before they were bought by Six Flags). We routinely called parents to come pick up their teenagers or we would have the police taken them away if they were violating park policy. We were very strict but it kept the park family friendly. It is my understanding that the park has gone downhill considerably since Six Flags purchased them.

Is Six Flags management so clueless that they are unaware of the “thug” (no racial connotation intended) problem or do they think we don’t know/don’t care. I have no plans to take my child and will not ever let her have a Season Pass like I had when I was a teen. It would not be hard to clean it up if SFOG really wanted to. Just slap on a coat of paint, keep it clean, hire decent workers and supervise them. Then you institute a ZERO TOLERANCE policy regarding fighting, line breaking, profanity and other disruptive behavior. Throw their butts out and forfeit their Season Passes. You can do this without raising prices.

Six Flags is now a Stinking, Dirty, Thug Cesspool, just like much of Atlanta has become. I really don’t care because I no longer go to either. I’ll stay in my clean, sweet-smelling, North-of-Atlanta, community, where the word garbage still refers to something you take to the curb. Atlanta/Six Flags are filled with garbage of the other kind… You can make your own judgement as to whom I’m speaking…

Hey Dirty….my kids are not thugs. I actually spend time with them, know their friends, know where they are and what they are doing. It is not that hard to do but you do have to put their best interests first. A hard thing to do for some people. I call it as I see it. You see more black kids emulating ghetto life and acting like thugs than you do white kids. I believe you will remember the two white girls who were recently killed by black thugs????? The girls were smart college students who were not bothering anyone. Thugs can’t stand to see people prosper on their own. Sad but true.

Atlanta’s Six Flags has got to be one of the worst parks in the chain. It is highly heralded by coaster enthusiasts due to its robust collection of roller coasters, but customer service, food quality, and cleanliness have all been the worst I have ever seen at an amusement park. Worse yet, it sits in a high-crime neighborhood, resulting in all of the afore mentioned thugs. I went to Six Flags St. Louis while on vacation last year and it was a much better experience — clean, safe, and filled with family-friendly rides and staff. I couldn’t care less about the ticket price decrease because I have already vowed that SFOG will not see a dollar of my money until they straighten out the mess they have there.

Wow. I’m glad I read this blog. I had thought maybe the past fights that made the news were isolated cases that might happen anywhere. I was recently considering whether they had enough appropriate rides to take my young children this summer, but after reading this… no way!!! I’ll either make the drive to Disney or check out one of the other suggestions here.

Does Cedar Point or Busch Gardens (Tampa or Williamsburg) have much for young children? Or Stone Mountain? Mine are 3 & 5. Otherwise, back to the Magic Kingdom for us! :-)

The trashy area around the park is why so many thugs and gangs hang out there. Clean up the area then freshen up the park, teach the employees to be respectful and quit hiring anyone that breathes. In short, everything and everybody within a 5 mile radius needs to be flattened and start over.

It’s very upsetting that the AJC would allow this posting to continue. In read in a few posting Thugs is another word used for the N word so when using Thugs in this Blog it’s in reference to a Black Male Teen mostly…..It’s sad that there is so much race hate…alive and well you can feel the rage when you scroll through and read the venomous attacks thats in alot of these posting……Black Male Teens did not cause the demise of Six Flags……There are just as many unsupervised kids of other race and gender running around on the loose in Six Flags as well…..I know it’s easy to blame the Black race it makes more sense doesn’t it….But is it right….NO….My family meaning my two sons and yes they are black and yes…. I took them and stayed….. Shocked….you shouldn’t be…….during this same trip for Spring Break I saw just as many Teenage boys of other races and ethnic backgrounds with pants saging grouping up, breaking in lines, loud and etc….but that’s alright as long as they are not Black can’t have that…… There are good parents raising great kids and don’t faint when I say this but yes they are Black….Fix you as a person becasue you are the thug you have problems, it’s a whole lot of hate inside of you and it’s you I wouldn’t want at Six Flags………I say Thanks because it’s your kind I wouldn’t want to be around……Upping the prices to keep the Thugs (Blacks Out)that’s really white of you…..Everybody wants a safe enviroment to bring our family why don’t we just clean up the park of bad behavior and stop pointing the finger at one race it’s so much Bigger than one race.

Ceding the parks to the thugs is basically surrendering. Last I checked, Atlanta was not in France, and surrenders to nobody. You want to fix it? Here’s what you do.

1) Teach your kids better. I’m talking to parents in SW DeKalb AND parents in NE Cobb. Teach them that adults are to be listened to and respected.

2) Bring your kids to the park and enjoy the day with them. Don’t drop them off. The park staff are not babysitters.

3) See something you don’t like? Report it! Security hosts are all over the park. Look for employees with earbuds, who are generally supervisors and are empowered to take care of trouble. Go to Guest Relations (in the Promenade, on the same side as Scorcher) and lodge a complaint; get it on paper.

To steve: I worked very closely with Six Flags management in 2005 and 2006 at White Water (I moved to Florida in 2007, otherwise I still would be). These people care about the park and care about how it’s run. It shows; it’s one of the most respected water parks in the industry (yes, in the same tier as Schlitterbahn and Disney). It’s still one of my favorites, and I live a short hop from the Disney Water Parks and SeaWorld’s superb new Aquatica.

ATL-Mom: Cedar Point is a thrill park; very little for your age children. The Anheuser-Busch parks are well-known for their kids’ activities, which isn’t bad for parks built on beer. But please, don’t dismiss Six Flags based on what you’re reading here. Do yourself a favor; go to the parks on a Sunday, instead of Saturday. You will miss a LOT of the thugs, and follow the advice I give above.

I’ve never been to Disney World but I have to agree with some other comments and recommend Cedar Point up in Sandusky, Ohio as an example of the way an amusement park should be run. The rides are awesome (look up Top Fuel Dragster online), and you don’t have the crazy two-three hour waits to get on rides because the staff has been trained to get you off and on the rides. Six Flags needs to send all their management up there to see how it’s supposed to be done…

One of the main differences between the beautifully run Disney and sad, sad Six Flags is the use of the singles line.

Nothing makes me more angry than empty seats for a ride with an hour wait. Disney does an excellent job making sure every seat is filled. Six Flags doesn’t care is you can only make it to five out of nine rides in a day that cost 50 bucks. They’d solve a heck of a lot of line-waiting if they would have a singles line.

Tommy can you not read? Yes, Six Flags was good BACK IN THE DAY but now, it is nothing but a hangout for gang members. Lets your kids go and you may not see them again. Just saw on the 6:00 news a 16 year old black mother is being charged with killing her kid by overdose. More good parenting.

Steve: In a way, they did. Cedar Point worked really well early in the day, but later on it wasn’t nearly as efficient, and they never informed guests during ride breakdowns (not even a pre-recorded spiel).

kay: Only three attractions at Walt Disney World use single-rider lines—Test Track, Rock N Roller Coaster and Expedition Everest. On other rides without single-rider lines, empty seats are everywhere. Disney does try and fill them, but it’s not required or forced, and attraction waits on peak days have hit 4 hours.

About six years ago, I took my wife, 2 god daughters and one of thier friends to Six flags. While waiting in line to ride Batman, one young black male asked me if he could ” date my daughta”. I ignored him as long as I could, and then as we passed him again, he tried to grab one of thier hands. As a 6’4” 250 LB. man, I finally let him know what was about to happen to him and he and his”gang” backed off. As a law enforcement officer I know what ” Gang Bangers ” look like. Who knows what would have happened if I had not been there. And for those of you who think i am racist, I had the same situation with a young white THUG as well. Good luck to future visitors, black or white. I say bulldoze the joint.

Why do the blacks ruin everything?

By Da Dawg

April 29, 2008 7:17 PM | Link to this

Simple answer, Michael. The black community now is composed predominantly of adolescent women (no men), with no parenting skills whatsoever, raising babies. Those babies grow up with no sense of responsibility, no sense of right or wrong, no language sklls, no coping skills, no anger management skills, no social skills, and no clue whatsoever about how to act in a civilized society.

Just cruise around Lenox — and even Perimeter — Mall on a Saturday night, and see the vast gulf in behavioral skills between the white/asian kids, and the black kids — who travel in packs, bumping into people, throwing trash on the ground, and hurling non-stop obscenities (to the extent they speak intelligibly at all). And, it’s getting worse, no better. Truly sad.

We used to have a season pass till two years ago. I agree the park is dirty and expensive. The parking is even worse (yes Disney is less). When we did go we went from about 10 AM till 1 or 2. Rode the big coasters and then ate our packed lunch in the car (thank goodness they had a parking pss). The teens don’t get up that early it seems. Also White Water has gone down also. The same tubes with peeling paint and nothing has been done since it opened. We need new owners!

I mean, if you feel this way, how do you live your life? Do you leave the house? Interact with people at your job? Go to basketball game, probably get scared there and run away. I love Disney, but it never changes, it’s the same old crappy rides, why do yall think they lost so much money that ABC had to buy them out? Because Disney is failing. The company I work for almost bought them until we realized that it would have been a bad purchase and as a stockholder, I would have been highly upset. We all know what you want to say, but you can’t say it cause it’s not allowed. So you not fooling anybody by saying Thug. Keep on saying it, you’ll find that you might get slapped for saying Thug too. So what do yall do now, you’re afraid to go anywhere, you gonna build a park up in Forsyth County?

In response to the so called “HATE” or “RACIST” comments, lets be clear on some things. First, the majority of the THUGS at Six Flags are Black, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its share of White, and Latino THUGS as well. All of the unsupervised THUG kids are leading to Six Flags demise, its not a jab at any race, but a fact. I consider a THUG the same as a troublemaker, maybe some people use the term in other ways, but for me thats how I view it, and there is no separation of race when it comes to a troublemaker.

The staff there is horrible, they pretty much seem to go through their daily work with little care about anyone or anything. The park is very dirty, and the lines are outrageous.

Perhaps all the people complaining here should send Six Flags corporate a nice little email suggesting ways to improve the park!

What’s really funny is how angry some of you are on this blog, when the TOPIC began happily enough with SFOG cutting it’s prices! I would think that this would have sparked more pleasant conversation, but I guess I was wrong. It is so easy to make racist remarks on a blog, but the majority of you are probably wimps who could never voice your incredibly stupid opinions in a face to face public forum! To all of you placing blame with the black community in Atlanta, let me tell you something…you get what you deserve! I’m a yankee and proud of it,for starters, the school system here is geared to keep poor children down and without hope. To James. See you are one of the ignorant ones as well. If just one person in this silly blog said it was being screwed up by blacks/thugs I would see your point but 95% of the people are saying it. What does that mean? It means people are only speaking the truth. Is it “racist” if I say that 95% of the murders in this city are caused by blacks even though that is the proven truth? NOPE. This is not “judging” people, it is only speaking the truth. All I know is that when I went 15 years ago, the crowd was mostly white and there were no problems. Now, it’s half black and there are many problems. Pretty obvious what the problem is.

I see why people in other countries laugh at us. All this racism is ridiculous. We put each other down, and I’m not talking about just white racist putting down Blacks, I have heard just as many negative comments about Whites and Mexicans at work, school and in public places. We need to wake up people. Other countries are laughing at us. We can’t even come together for the simple things. Hell, we can’t even get a decent president in office cause too many people have too much pride in voting for a black man or a white female. And for the person who made the comment that we need to look in the mirror and start with our own kids, they were absolutely right. Stop putting down other races, thinking you are better and worry about your human race.

And for who ever says that Disney is so much better than SF, trust me, there were just as many kids making out, cutting lines, profanity, etc at Disney. They were just spread out over 6 parks. I spent 8 days there last month and yes it was cl
