Where do you get your favorite Margarita?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
If you don’t order a margarita very often, it might seem like a straightforward concept. But in reality, the choices can make your head spin before you’ve even tasted the tequila.
First you have to decide whether you want it on the rocks or frozen, then salt or no salt. And that’s just the beginning.
Frozen margaritas come in almost any flavor of fruit imaginable, and even the on-the-rocks variety has its own twists — Texas margarita, anyone?
What’s your favorite margarita and where do you get it?

Actually just been doing a taste test of the best dive (open to interpretation) bar rita’s. So far The Local has been consistently the best. Holy Taco? They’ve only been open a few weeks and the rita there has already halved in size for the same price, and yes, I know it’s not a dive bar.

Definitely East Atlanta Village, but I’m going with yummy, cheap and strong - The Blanco at Cantina La Casita. Although, the special house margarita at El Tesoro (incidentally owned in part by the same people as CLC) in Decatur is fabulous!

I have not seen a place in Atlanta that compares with the Margarita choices that I find at Casa Guadalajara in San Diego. They have dozens of flavors, with large choices of tequilas, with a selection of sizes, from the small drink to the fishbowl sized ‘rita that would take 3 hours to finish.
Any place in Atlanta compare at all? … didn’t think so!

Too bad it’s not around anymore, but Gringo’s (on Dekalb, where Five Bros BBQ is now) used to have the best around…Not these candyass margaritas that FredClay drinks, but some real hair-on-your-chest margs.
But for now, I like the margs at Cantina La Casita in East Atlanta Mexican Village…

Any of the fourteen different mexican-themed establishments in the EA(M)V should suit a margarita hunter just fine.
If you get them from Fred Clay’s though, expect at least one moustache hair in your drink.

There’s an awesome one at La Casita that I love. And the Taco’s house margarita is good. I think it’s clear that the answer is East Atlanta Mexican Village! ¡Viva El EAMV!

Sala, definitely Sala. I love their Sala margarita.
El Torero on N. Druid is my cheap alternative. Their Texas margaritas will burn your eyebrows off.

Jesus called. He said a taco is not Holy! He also said to tell you to go to La Casita, repent and have a blanco. And some pork carnitas.

Mi Barrio on Memorial Drive (near Oakland Cemetery) has outstanding margaritas and really authentic Mexican food. I also agree with EhWhatever’s take on El Torero margaritas - those things are insane!!!!
