‘60 Minutes’ reporter caught in sex scandal?

(Photo by Getty Images) The Net is abuzz with racy reports about “60 Minutes” star Lara Logan, who allegedly had a heated affair while on assignment in Baghdad.

According to sites like the New York Post and Gawker as well as a major spread in the National Enquirer, the CBS correspondent is accused of breaking up the marriage of civilian contractor Joe Burkett, whose wife works for the U.S. Embassy.

The former swimsuit model also allegedly had an affair with CNN war reporter Michael Ware, who reportedly got into a physical altercation with Burkett. SEE PHOTOS OF WARE AND LOGAN

According to the reports, Logan, 37, said that Burkett and his wife were separated before their involvement and Ware was a one-night stand. She reportedly also denied the fight between the two men ever happened.

I’m sorry I don’t see the news value in this at all. I realize Ms. Logan may be a public person, that still doesn’t give the right to these media outlets to invade her privacy. How would the AJC like it if a competitor wrote articles about the sex lives of AJC staff? I will admit I looked at the photo gallery, Laura Logan is hot. I’m sure she is a moral boost to our troops when she is around.

I think the bigger story is that these correspondents and civilians, as well as the military members over there are starved for affection. You can only take so much sand, heat and covered-up women! It didn’t matter if she was a loose-tooth granny. She had what they wanted and they decided to fight for it.

I have always thought Lora Logan was a good reporter and a very hot woman. I still do. Until I read something to change my mind, I will believe that her relationship with Burkett occurred after the couple had separated. In most quarter, dating during that period is viewed as being acceptable. Give the girl a break. She doesn’t deserve this kind of finger-wagging gossip when there is much more to report.

This is actually very common. This is only news cause Lara is a journalist. I knew a woman in the Army who came home from the Gulf war pregnant by a married soldier. The military is one of the few places where men out number women. Then you add to the fact that they are overseas without family for such a long period of time. Recipe for disaster.

Now, getting back to Lara. Why is she the only one getting bad press? What about the man involved? He was the one with the wife. I wonder did the wife know she was suppose to be separated? You know the wives are always the last to find out.

Man for the days when I’d view a 37-year-old as a cougar. As of now, she’s just a babe who’s nine years younger than me. Actually, dude, why would you want to never been in a position to say no to her? Yes is the correct answer every time, even if your grandma and preacher are in the room.

CBS is waining in the ratings. They had to create a story to get noticed anymore. If Katie can’t do it then Lara can is the philosophy. A little controversy never hurt anyone is the creedo.

It’s a shame that the headlines of a sleazy tabloid like the National Enquirer are given so much credibility.

I wouldn’t believe them or the New York Post for a second.

Remember, celebrities have sued the Enquirer for printing totally untrue stories - and won.
