As Madonna turns 50, we stroll down memory lane

The constantly evolving Madonna has done everything from singing and acting to writing and designing. Well, at least she’s tried to do everything.

Through many, many loves and losses, she has remained a pop superstar at heart. And while reading headlines about her and A Rod make it easy to forget sometimes, she has supplied her fair share of hits.

So what’s your favorite song by Madonna? Do you remember the wild ways of “Like a Virgin” or do you prefer the rebellious yet serious “Like a Prayer Days”?

Of course there are plenty out there who couldn’t care less … just remember it’s her birthday (Aug. 16) and we want to be nice.

Like a prayer. Hands down one of the best sing along and dance songs ever! I also love that she is my age and is still rocking it and looking and sounding good doing it. She will be like Tina and still rocking at 60.

I love “Like a Virgin”. I like to drive my Hummer and listening to Madonna on a sunny spring day.

Madonna was good in the early MTV days when videos were new and cool. Vouge was fun to watch but to just lsiten to her without the visuals of a video to go along with her, no thanks. I saw her ‘live’ in concert in the the late 80’s before the huge stage productions that she does now and she sounded horrible live. I will say this, for a girl with minimum dance and singing skills, she has made a lot of money. I have a hard time with her now with the fake British accent and how much of a parody of herself she has become. She’s too old to be Madonna now.

Definitely “Open Your Heart to Me”. It makes me want to dance every single time I hear it and the most recent listen experience was on a plane. Made it difficult to get up and boogie, but I wanted to try.

“Express Yourself”

I really dig “Give It To Me” from the new cd as well. She’s a legend. I don’t get people making fun of her “British” accent. You try living in London for 10 years married to Scottish man and not pick up some of the accent. People who move to the South from up north usually end up letting a “yall” slip here and there. Plus she’s from Michigan, and Midwesterners talk funny anyway. It amazes me that people zero in on that and claim its her being “fake”. Whatever. She’s great.

“Like A Prayer” hands down. There’s nothing sexier than seeing a white woman dancing in front of a field of burning crosses.

The very first Madonna video/song I ever saw or heard was “Burning Up”. Great song, great video.

She’s homely looking and her voice sounds like finger nails dragging across a chalkboard!
