What would Larry say about loss to Bama?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The difficult loss to Alabama Saturday night was harder for Bulldog fans because longtime broadcaster Larry Manson was not there to explain it to us in his gloomy and growling way. What would the retired legend’s words of caution and comfort been?
Sports Illustrated writer Andy Staples came up with this today: “Good God. They’re just killing us. Killing us. Terrence Cody is occupying our entire offensive line. Andre Smith is mauling our defensive linemen. Glen Coffee is running through us like a 59-cent burrito. We’re discombobulated on offense. We’re confused on defense. And Julio Jones? My God. A freshman?”
So give us your best Munson-style description.

Anything would have been better than listening to Eric Zeier try to blame it on the trip to Arizona wondering if the Dogs were still feeling the effects of the trip.

Old Lady Luck couldn’t make it tonight. She got carjacked by Bama fans looking for gas.

I doubt Larry was very happy with the performance last night because he loves the Dawgs. Too bad you can’t say that for the ajc. Even though the Tide has struggled for a few years, I doubt the Birmingham newspapers ever kicked their team when they were down like this sorry rag does. Not to mention invoking the name of a legend to do so. This is a new low, even for this outhouse rag. The AJC sucks and this will be my last look at this site. (I quit looking at the paper version years ago).

DD, A dog fan calling someone else classless is priceless! Also how stupid can you be to knock the AJC? The paper is totally devoted to you!

My gosh it’s been a long night, but now you want some of that clock back. It was like Old Lady Luck had taken those blackout jerseys and washed them in Tide and bleach and run them through the ringer with our defenders still wearing them. Now it looks like they want to come back and win this thing, but the clock has just switched to Alabama time.
