Plan to watch the VP debate?

The presidential candidates have finished the warm-up act.

Now the debate that everyone has been waiting for is upon us. Thursday night becomes “must-see TV” night again when Democratic Sen. Joe Biden and Republican Gov. Sarah Palin square off in St. Louis in their only debate of the campaign.

Do you plan to get together with friends, foes or anyone else at a debate-watching party?

Will you be watching in earnest — or maybe having a little fun? Send an e-mail describing your plans to mggray@ajc.com; please include a daytime phone number. We may contact you for a story on Atlantans gathering to watch the debate.

I sure am gonna watch them. By the way last night I was watching Hannity and the Demo’s are so worried about her being VP but do not have any idea the qualifications for being President. They need to be worring about Obama being PRESIDENT. He has no qualifications for doing anything. Remember you DEMOCRAT Christians he is the one that mocked The BIBLE.

The first question should be asked to Biden, ” Who is the current President?” Can you imagine how much flack a Republican would have gotten and especially one who is as old and seasoned as Biden for not knowing who was President during the depression and when television was invented, being that Biden was around then. Biden stated that Roosevelt went on the television the day after the banks fell in the depression in 1929. Hoover was President that day and TV was not intoduced until 1938 at the New York Worlds Fair. Wow, can you imagine what the race would be like if we didn’t have to treat the Democrats with special treatment ( Quota’s…afrrimative action….Bell Curve….news favoritism….)and this was done on a level field. Alas, had this election been fair from the beginning, Obama wouldn’t be in the race today. Obama needs and has gotten lots and lots of special treatment. Gee,the look of shock on my face. Stunned.

I won’t miss it for the world. Palin’s lack of exposure to the media and the floundering responses she has given to “real” questions have set this up to be a true must see event. Either she is doing a masterful job of setting rock bottom expectations and she will blow us away, or as is more likely the case she will generate more SNL fodder as she spews incoherent answers.

I definitely plan on watching it. She’s talking alot of crap right now.. McCain & co and send her to all the debate boot camps they want and she can spew about all of her her stupid comments about how she was in 2nd grade when he went into senate, etc (although I am still seeking what point she was trying to make. Oh - I forgot - she has no point!)… sorry I have digressed.. My point is: she has no idea how bad Biden will chew her up and spit her bulldog, lipstick wearing self out and shredded paper.

Wanda if you take the time to read before you speak or write, you will know that Obama has quite a bit of qualifications, more than that “Old Man” will ever have. For his running mate, there is no need to waist my time and effort!!! Dumb as a bag of rocks.I don’t know what people are seeing!! This country is in a mess and everytime there is a Republican in office this country becomes a mess. People have lost jobs, houses, children, husbands and wives due to Republicans. Hoover was president in 1930 during the “Great Depression” another Republican. Then came Roosevelt who saved our country who was a Democrate. Does any one notice that when there is a Democrate in office, there are jobs and money. We could go into a “Depression” right now. I just don’t understand what people see. The Republicans are for the “wealthy” and look at them now. They have lost millions. I just don’t understand what people see.

I’m sorry - I’ve been truly disillusioned by the voting system in this country. Nothing can convince me that my vote will truly count in this presidential election. Look back to the last election where Bush had been declared president before polls on the east coast had even closed - people still standing in line to cast their vote, when the winner had already been decided. Unbelieveable!! They couldn’t even try to keep up the pretence that somehow your vote counts.

I feel the only time my vote actually counted was during the elections for senators, etc - those who make up the Electoral College.

CHANGE CHICAGO STYLE

Body count: In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago, 221 killed in Iraq.

Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin,
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.,
Gov. Rod Blogojevich,
House leader Mike Madigan,
Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),
Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of former Mayor Richard J. Daley).....
the leadership in Illinois.....all Democrats.

Chicago is a combat zone. Of course they’re all blaming each other. Can’t blame Republicans, there aren’t any! State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country. Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look’em up if you want). Chicago school system one of the worst in country. This is the political culture that Obama comes from! He’s gonna ‘fix’ Washington politics? Yeah, right!

The Rep ticket have a man, who inspite of low grades, social conflicts (fights, drinking, partying) got into an Ivy League school by his family’s connections and money. All of his life he has been associating with the rich and powerful- very privledged (white priviledge, social priviledge). He is not in tune with the average American and their struggles. Palin, born and raised in Alaska, a very isolated state. The state consists of whites, Native American and Alaskans. One of the richest state in the country. There again, Palin cannot be multi-culturally sensitive or have an awareness of midddle and/or lower class American. Obama, raised modestly and is able to communicate and comfortably associated with people of various social and economic status. When asked by McCain to defined proverty he said one million. That may have been taken as a joke, but I think he simply did not know or care. McCain referred to Obama as an elite: a man that studied hard and worked his way through school without using the affirmative action program. Low grade McCain used daddy’s and granddaddy’s influence (bumping out a more qualified candidate) to get into school. McCain said his best interest is for the country, is this the same country he denounced while in captivity. Did he stay longer out of shame rather than being w/ his comrades. I am a veteran and know the strength and weakness of a solider during war. No way McCain.

Here’s a quick synopsis of Thursday’s VP debate:

Gwen Ifill: Tonight’s debate will follow the ladies first format.

Governor Palin, in recent weeks your perceived lack of foreign policy experience, and knowledge, has been called into question, crystallize your positions for the undecided voter.

Gov. Palin: Well Gwen, as you know Alaska shares a land border with Canada, and a maritime one with Russia. Fish from Russia swim into Alaskan waters all of the time, and moose, deer, and wolves cross the border from Canada daily. I am kept apprised of their movements by Alaska’s DNR operatives. Besides, who knows where Putin’s head is anyway?

He does not understand that this bill will not bail out wall street executives, but instead allow financial institutions to resume lending to not only small business so they they can pay your salaries but also loans to people wanting to buy homes and automobiles. Oh she was representing them when they thought that she was smart. Now that she is dumb she is representing herself. She got her job via the white Affirmative Action version. That is by being underqualified/white and having connections. Isn’t it sexist to ask Biden to change his tone when debating her. She was the one that said that she was s pitbull with lipstick and because she is female they want her to have special treatment. It said when the SNL skit was not a parody, it was the truth and they are basically telling them to stop it. If that was Obama folks will have a fit. We women can’t have it both ways. We pray to God to direct our actions which should be base on his teachings, but this does not mean he endorses all we do.

At least if you profess to be a Christian, understand religion.
