Grrrrrrrr! Do you know a grouch?

It’s National Grouch Day and I’m not in a very good mood.

I didn’t get enough sleep last night, my commute was horrible and I have to do everyone else’s work. Grrrrrr…

You get the picture.

Do you know a grouch or are you one? Do you have a job that requires you to deal with more than your fair share of complainers? How do you deal with someone who grumbles all the time?

We DID have a negative grouch in our office for years. When she gave notice at the end of September, she couldn’t understand why we were all encouraging her to leave!

Anything that was bad or negative, she seemed to get pleasure from. Illness, or bad luck or bad news on tv, she was all about it. We joked if she ever cracked a smile her face would break.

Good riddence, every day is a party now that she is gone.

Depends on where I’m at..If I’m at work, I just say whatever to them.. Or I tell them to shut the he** up.If I’m at a restaurant or store & someone is grouchy, I just look at them & say “you don’t get paid for your personality do you” Then they just look at me like I have 2 heads…

I work with two people who are miserable. I believe it’s a choice. You choose to feel good or bad every day when you wake up. Apparently these two people choose to be mean and ugly 24/7. I don’t know how they live with themselves. Both are single by the way….Gee I wonder why?

I on the other hand am a very happy person, always smiling and saying kind things, and doing kind things, even for strangers. I’ll smile at strangers, etc. It just kills my two grouchy co-workers.

Were these people mentioned above grouches? Or were they simply not in your office circle? Maybe the alleged grouch was not in the organizations private membership and could not go anywhere. I have seen what many label as grouches but there were underlying circumstances also. I became a grouch once when my organization made me go to sensitivity training. It was not to make me more sensitive but simply to avoid any possible lawsuits. But I guess the above bloggers are above such things.
