Wrong wrong, so - like I was saying, tonight for dinner, I made this wonderful bow-tie pasta dish, with mild Italian sausage, sliced zucchini & yellow squash, grape tomatoes - cooked with garlic & onions and EVOO, it is so good and I bet Taylor would love it!!!

Good evening Bloggers.

First off a big apology to Deirdre and others. I went back and listened to an MP3 of Somewhere Over The Rainbow — It was FANTASTIC. SO I just want to let everyone know I take back my initial reaction that the song was boring and oversung. I really really liked it just listening to it.

Now on to tonight. MY personal Gut feeling is Elliot is leaving.

However, All the clues point to Kat leaving. A poster on the AI boards that posted last weekend they had seen Chris goodbye montage being put together, says they saw Katherines Goodbye montage being put together today.

Aunt Edna clue today points to a web site in which two southern men singing together. The hint being that the finalists are the two southern males.

And people anaylzing Nigel’s interview are keying on a comment he makes that the person going home tonight “Did not stick his/her chest out at the end�. They are keying on the fact that he was very disappointed with Kat’s last song and his comment that, “She had the right to steal the evening. She threw it away with this song.�

SO all three hints seem to point to Kat going home.

However, Based on Dial Idol being a dead heat, and the fact they vastly underestimate Kat’s West Coast power leads me to think it is Elliot leaving.

IDOL HAS become one big commercial. Rebecca gave us the impression that she was on the show last week because she was a fan. Now this week we see them trying to give away a movie DVD,,,,, please. Idol producers know how to bring in the cash Cant wait to see the commercials next year. They may have one of those moving banners over the stage next year.

Kat is really not so good in an interview (sounding disappointed in her less-than-thousands reception), but I must say I loved her doing ‘Think’.

i get it that people are in the competition to win, but can kat and her family be more self-righteous? taylor and elliot both looked humble, and even their families were modest when ryan showed the numbers, but kat and her family are just ungracious winners. kat does have a voice, but she’s never been consistent. if she does beat taylor (unlikely, i hope), then i think she will be the least successful ai winners.

I’m sorry to see Elliott go - he was the underdog, and darn it, he has a beautiful voice. It’s true, Kat and Taylor have the stage presence and the looks/personality to pull it off. In terms of raw talent, Kat’s got Taylor beat - but Taylor’s got Kat in the “performer” department. It will be interesting to see how America votes. I will be hitting the redial for the hour following the show - and voting for Kat.

as much as i hate to say it and sound like a sore loser, if the e-train passengers aren’t in favor of kat or taylor, then don’t vote for either one. i think i could stand for any of the contestants (even pickler) to win rather than kat — just because they had character. taylor is not my favorite, and somewhat agree with those who say he’s cartoonish. i don’t know if i love him enough to keep kat from winning… i guess i’m at the point where i don’t care.

You have to be humbled by Elliott even if you have never rode the train. Kat can sell a few albums and probably a lot more magazines… Taylor and Elliot both showed some class tonight, while Kat’s mom was whooping it up when it should have been Elliot’s moment. However, at this point, the two finalist have equal shots to “make it big.”

By the way, was it just me or was the picture they showed of Clive Davis before he came out taken about 40 years ago? And Paula’s behavior is very obnoxious. She needs to go into rehab or else at least sit down and stop crying like a 13 year-old teenager. Please!

This sets up just like last year. The Alabama country boy Bo Bice was expected to top Carrie Underwood but in the end the real talent won out.

Look for Katherine to blow away the competion on next weeks show and take home the trophy. She is the most gifted talent in the competition and has been from day one.

Despite all the partisan posturing, I think everyone knows and will admit to themselves that both Taylor and Kat are great singers and performers. They would not have made it this far if they were not. And while many are still bitter from their favorite not making it (Chris, Paris, Elliot, etc.), the remaining two are not chopped liver.

I have been a Kat and Chris voter throughout the season; however, I am going to erase my memory and base my vote next week solely on how they perform next week. I want to give Taylor a fair chance at my vote.

Kat goes in to the finals with three groups locked up: 1. west coast voters, including those from the most populous state, 2. 15 year old boys and 3. 45 year old men who act like 15 year old boys. Well folks - 2 shows left.

Tuesday night will be a treat. There’s a good chance there will be a different format for the final than last years - Nigel won’t reveal how it goes down, so I expect a chage from the awful format of the past (sing these crappy Diane Warren-esque songs that make diabetics reach for the insulin pen!).

Elliott is a fine young Southern gentleman. I am sad to see him go. But, as a member of the Soul Patrol, I am SO GLAD to see next week finally here!

Diane, I was not refering to her style or the way she sings. Many have stated how Kat comes across as spoiled and conceited. We all hear the news of how Britney, Paris and many others act in public. Kat’s family showed no class tonight in the way they cheered. Of course they were happy but so was Taylor’s family but they showed class.

I can not see how you can give your votes to someone who has no sense of tone. You could clearly see tonight that her range is all over the place. I was always a Paris,and Chris fan. I have never been on the Soul train. I would definately not vote for Kat, and never have. OH, YES — for everyone who thinks that Kat has all of the West Coast you are wrong !! if you have XM Radio go to some of the other stations. They were riding the Bald Bull ( Chris ) I am also from Colorado just relocated to Georgia, they are for sure on the Soul Stroll

you know, watching the three kids go back to their hometowns tonight i realized something. with elliott’s leaving, we lost the last truly genuine idol off the show. what class! to stay so humble and seem to truly enjoy the trip back home when the other two were definately “working” the crowd…. good for you, elliott. i’d take him as a role model for the kids i teach any day over the other two.

I saw Pickles but where is Constantine??? Kat does not sing like Brittney “No Talent but Jugs” Spears and she does not have the vocal fluidity that Cristina A. has (whose dirrty approach says she doesn’t respect the gift) BUT what Kat has is a sense of fun in her singing and she certainly does sing some great classics. She needs some coaching but she is much more an artist than Hicks.

Maybe next week it can be: Blue Collar guy v. Red Light Girl. They are both good singers. Honestly, Taylor is more polished and seems to work harder. He has not forgotten his lyrics like Kat has - twice. He has also not had a “bad night” during the show. Kat might have more raw appeal, and in a year or two, she might be on a Fox TV show or something, but Taylor has worked his way here and I respect that. He would be the second AI from Alabama. What are the odds?

As much as I have made fun of Elliott the last few weeks, I still hope he enjoys some success in the industry. His “goodbye” speech was 100% heartfelt, and the look on his mom’s face was that of a VERY proud woman. His music isn’t my thing, but I hope he finds a niche in the adult contepmorary world, and he certainly deserved to be there instead of Taylor the twitchy Karaoke wedding guy.

If there was ever a question that Idol is fixed, it moved a step closer to being proven last night. 33.68%, 33.26%, 33.06% — tailor-made television drama at its best. Why do they show us the pecentages and not the actual number of votes? Let me predict right now that next week, Ryan will say 76 million votes, and the percentages are 50.02% and 49.98% - McPhee wins. Suckers.

Kat’s a spoiled brat, was disrespectful to her parents (“I never call them” shrugging her shoulders with an I don’t care attitude) and very ungrateful to her so-called fans (where were they by the way???) with her “it was boring” comment referring to her trip back home. Geeez. Premadonna all the way. I was touched by Elliott’s homecoming, and Taylor’s too. They are TRULY adored. I cried when Elliott left & hope only good for the tender hearted man. My Elliott votes will all go to Taylor for sure. He doesn’t seem to think the world revolves around him like Kat does. See you in the theatre Kat, of course after you get over your loss to Taylor.

The best two are not gone, Katharine does have a very lovely voice, but Taylor will win this, I said he would all along, I just missed the second one, for I just knew it would be down to Taylor & Chris!!! Taylor has soul and spirit and heart!!!!

He also has a wonderful voice and will, I sure, get some attention from the labels. This is the worst part about AI. Elliot definitely was the best singer out of the three. However, Taylor and Kat had the most fans. My final prediction is that KAT not Taylor will be the next American Idol. Taylor is an entertainer, true enough, but he is an entertainer that makes you laugh AT him. Kat on the other hand is an entertainer, with potential to be a movie star and broadway star. I must say that Katharine’s career has the potential to go in so many directions. Don’t you agree? Her beauty alone will appeal to audiences. Chris ousting from the show was not Kat’s fault. They do not even appeal to the same audience. If anything Taylor and Chris appealed to the same audience meaning that TAYLOR not Kat is the reason for Chris leaving. Think about it! I loved Paris and she was my favorite, but she wasn’t my American Idol. I did vote for her to keep her around though, because she brought life to the show. Kat was always my choice for THE American Idol, and she will definitely recieve my vote next week.

Taylor should win because he has paid his dues, just like other entertainers before him. We live in such a fast food society that we want it and want it now without having earned it. voice: both are great singing style: katharine pitch/tuning: taylor performance and stage presence: katharine physique/star quality: katharine (by far)

so overall, i think KATHARINE SHOULD BE THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL. but she should be very careful on hitting the notes of her song.this is her biggest problem,especially these past weeks.judges are right when they say she should not oversing the song..she’s at her best when she sings songs that dont require high volume.great song choice is also very vital at this point in time.she’s far better than taylor!(no doubt).some say that taylor’s edge over kat is his entertainment…but i disagree,my siblings and i are always irritated by his dance moves…he looks drunk,and like an epilepsy patient

And to Mike S. I read your apology and it was completely unnecessary. We all have our favorites and we all tend to see the flaws in the people who are not our favorites. I did the same thing with Elliot. Our top 5 were unbelieveably talented this year. Are the two best singers the ones left standing? Who knows. Like I said yesterday, based solely on vocal ability, I would place Paris, Mandisa, Chris, Kat and Elliot above the vocal abilities of Taylor. But Taylor is a performer…a good one and I think I will probably be voting for him in the finals(barring some disaster) So maybe it isn’t a singing contest. Maybe it really is more about who strikes our fancies the most, who warms our hearts, who puts that smile on our faces.

ok. This the first post for me, but I had to weigh in after Tuesday and Wednesday. Both Taylor and Katherine are great singers, but I prefer Taylor so much more. He has a great personality and appears to be much grounded and appreciative than Kat who is a real whiner. I couldn’t get past her complaining, “you guys are being so hard on me” to the judges a few times. I’m guessing she’s never faced adversity and like a few of you have pointed out, appears to be rather spoiled and sheltered. It’s not her fault, however, that her family is financially secure; but she does need to just GROW UP! And she doesn’t care enough about her fans to remember the lines to her sons. IMO, she doesn’t deserve to be the American Idol!

Morning Deirdre and others. I was a little sad to see Elliott go and even more sad for his mother. But, I was glad she was able to visit the city with him. She looked so proud. It was amazing how close the percentages were. I was sure Taylor had over 50 percent of the votes with Kat and Elliott closely splitting the remaining 50, but boy was I wrong. With that being said, next week’s win could go either way. Kat is definitely getting a lot of text votes and I mean a lot. ONE of them will really shine next week and I think it is going to be Taylor. But who knows. I will vote for the best.

ANTM fans: I was so proud of Danielle and Joanie. Two terrific and beautiful girls. So glad pie face was sent packing. She urked me and she just thought she knew everything.

If Kat sings her songs next week like she sang Think, she just might give ol’ Taylor a run for his money. I thought that performance was really good.

For all of you caught up in the ‘Kat forgetting her lyrics’ thing, if you ask ANY singer out there, they will tell you that they have dropped lyrics any number of times. Stage actors forget their lines. It happens to the best of them. Yes, Kat is in a competition where forgetting a lyric can put you in a lot of danger but she clearly has a lot of fans out there. Nevermind how close in votes she was to Elliot…think about how close in votes she was to Taylor.

There’s just something about Kat that is soooooooo fake. She definitely has talent and her Dad is proud but she is laking crisma!

And to Mike, I’m sorry you just don’t get Taylor. Gomer Pyle was an entertainer and I think Taylor would consider your comment a compliment. Whether you get it or not, he’s got it. His audience loves him. He entertains America. It’s about putting a smile on our face and in the troubled world we now live, I enjoy the smiles! Lighten up, it’s a contest that serves to bring some of America’s best to the spotlight for our viewing/listening pleasure.

Heck, I even LOVE Simon! Simon does not get so attached that he cannot deliver his true opinions. I don’t always agree but I always respect his comments.

I am not a tv person. I might see a movie every 5 - 6 years. I read for entertainment. However, I watched AI for the finale when it was Rueben and Clay and am now hooked. I record the show now from the get go! I love it!

I can’t believe that these two finalists have any entertainment value outside of AI fans. Kat actually has a nice voice but the “somewhere over the rainbow” song was the first evidence of that since the show started. She is no doubt pretty and that’s the only reason that she is a finalist and not Elliot. She has a ZERO personality factor. As for Taylor, his facial expressions are a laugh. He looks like he has gas pains when he sings romantic ballads. Who, other than AI fans would pay to go see him?

As much as I would like to take sides with the final two, I love both of them equally. I know alot of Taylor fans have been fans from the beginning, but up until this past week, I didn’t pay him too much attention. On the other hand, I was a huge fan of Kat in the beginning, switched to the E-train when she started messing up in the middle, and then towards the end, I became a fan again. So my votes will be determined mainly by the performances next week and I will vote for whoever does the best. I think they both have been inconsistent throughout the competition and both equally deserve to win, so we will see how things go next week. That’s only fair. So why didn’t Kat get a key the city, a welcome by the governor, and so on. I would think she would have tons of support from the big city. What happened?

Wake up people, this is for talent. Some of you people make me sick with your comments that Kat is sexy, spoiled,and any other negative comment about her, most of it is pure jealousy. She has a beautiful voice and yes she did mess up but so did some of the other contestants and they ended up winning. Vote for who has the talent. Taylor has a good voice on some songs and he is an entertainer but he should be on a cruise ship or lounge, if he wins just to pay his dues a lot of people should have won. @Shay…. I was so happy that Miss Know it All, Grnadma Jade was gone. She irked me so much.

I am proud of Danielle. She is a beautiful woman in face and personality. Joanie is pretty also but she lacks the presence Danielle has. Danielle can light up a room while Joanie will disappear in the crowd. I am proud of them both.

Eva and Danielle is the best pick they have picked. The other girls were just blah!

It’s LA, Shay, they have more celebrities than they know what to do with. They’ll acknowledge Kat if she wins. Have you ever watched Entourage on HBO? You get the feeling that, in LA, you’re only as famous as your last performance. Kat’s not big enough yet for them to pay any attention to.

I’m in the same boat with you, Shay. I love them both. I have been a Taylor and Kat fan from the very beginning(although I thought Chris deserved to win) This will be a VERY hard choice for me as well.

Maybe its JUST me, But did anyone else notice how Small the crowd of support was for Kat?..Ok.no shocker there. But judging from such a Small crowd of support, where on Earth did she get the votes from? It sure didnt Come from her hometown. I am not gonna Cry foul, fixed or foolish but COME ON. ok. Gel on this. Should she win(which would be an OUTrage)that dosent MEAN she is Gonna Sell. Remember the Buying public has the last word. So they can crown her if they wish. But dosent mean the public is going to buy it. Also, I listened to the stats Clive gave of the other Past idol winners. Ruben and Fantasia’s sales were quite Pale in comparison to Clay, and Bo’s who did not claim the top spot. Kelly Clarkson is In a Class all by herself 12 million? and In My Opinion(remember I said yesterday EveryONe Got One) Kelly has Yet to Sing Something I LIKE. sorry she does nothing for me. I dont care How Much Everyone else likes her, has nothing to do with My Ears. No suprise On Taylor. I was Fan of his From DAY ONE. Every regular Blogger on here knows that. And look at the Support he had..12,000 strong? His stats seemed Very accurate. Even Elliot had a Bigger support crowd then Kat. My question IS, If Your Hometown is Not Supporting Her, who is? For the first time, when Taylor was talking, it was like seeing Elvis Presley. I was stunned. He talks just like Elvis. He acts just like Elvis. He TRIES to dance like Elvis (a little off, but good), and I was shocked to see that much support for Taylor. He was given his own official Day - The Taylor Hicks Day. What an honor for him and Alabama. That was so cool. I was also surprised to see that Elliott had that much support. Then, no one was there for Kat. Just a handful of people. Where were al of her fans that voted? That is why it seems suspect that she won over Elliott. Something is really wrong there. Elliott truly outshines Kat. AND the way she acted about not calling her parents, like they didn’t even exist, and they were just sitting out there to support her. She embarrased them. Is that what kind of American Idol we want, a person to disrespect their parents in front of the whole world. If she wins, then she is sleeping with Simon or Ryan. They both seemed to be eyeing her as a sexual object. Taylor IS the American Idol. American Idol is someone who we can respect, not worry that she really does like like a hooker. Boots in the summer - no class. She should be ashamed of the way she treated her parents. Who does she think she is!!! TAYLOR deserves to win more than her. He tries harder.

The votecounts are bogus b/c each of the phonelines immediately reached capacity and thus 99% of the votes got a busy signal and never got counted at all.

next week, according to AI’s stats, taylor will get 50.01 percent of the votes, but the reality is that if they had an adequate system, he’d actually get about 55-58% IMO.

Elliott is a classy guy and you have to like him for that. However it is only right that Kat and Taylor remain. It SHOULD have been Kat and Chris in the finals. But Taylor made it instead. Now we have a “performer” and a “vocal musician” in the finals. Who should be the idol? I say Kat. However it could be Taylor by “popular vote”. It’s amazing how people twist comments to MAKE then negative. The girl said she rarely get to talk to her parents. The conspiracy theories are entertaining. Busy signals are busy signals and have been around since Idol Season 1. I don’t believe that busy signals are new people trying to get in but rather people trying to vote multiple times. I would like to see a limit on the amount of times people can vote.

I am tiring of reading all the trash about Katherine. What you saw last night is the different between small town America versus big city America. Southern California is so consumed with there own interests it is no wonder that she didn’t have the numbers turn out. Lisa S. I agree, Kat has been shaky a couple of times. So has Taylor. Remember Country Roads? And he doesn’t hit all the notes all the time either…it’s just that Kat’s mistakes are more recent. I thought she sang very well both Tuesday night and last night. I’d like to see her bring her A game as well. It is always a shame if the winner’s night is tainted by the failure of the other contestant to do their best.

This is random but has anyone read and seen Memoirs of a Geisha??? That movie was horrible and so confusing, I thought it was going to be good. (Just rented it yesterday) I only read 4 chapters of the book so far and still noticed that they skipped over way too many details that would have made things make sense. I’m going to start reading the Divinci Code too so I can be fully disappointed in the movie.

I’m sorry but I just can’t do Kat. It’s just something about her that I just don’t like. IMO, her voice is more of a studio voice. See seems overly confident and the fact that she made some serious mistakes like FORGETTING WORD TO THE SONG really urks me that she’s still around. And please don’t forget that her family has celebrity friends, so to me, she really didn’t need the exposure of AI. I expect to see her doing Broadway after her album drops. Granted, Clive will work his magic IN THE STUDIO to make her voice WOW. But I just can’t see her doing tours. Elliott has natural talent and should still have been around. I know he doesn’t have the looks or the style, but the boy has a phenomenal voice plus he’s true to music. One thing I love about him is that he has this “old soul.” To hear him, makes my heart smile. I’m going to miss him. But I’m looking forward to the release of his album when the time comes. I will definately purchase it.

With that being said, I doubt I will watch the finale. But I will be supporting Taylor heart, mind & soul. When it’s time to vote, I will be calling. I know he’s not a lot of people’s idea of an AI winner but you can’t deny that he is what we need most - a TRUE entertainer. JMO

Last night’s results were exactly like I thought: Elliot, although deserving of being in the finals and maybe winning the whole thing, would sadly not go through. Next week will be interesting. If the votes were that close this week, voting will be just as interesting next week. Who knows: Taylor fans might find themselves shocked next week IF there’s another last minute, West Coast voting push and Kat actually ends up winning this thing. For me, after Chris signed off last week, there’s nothing left to vote for. I doubt I’ll buy a Kat or Taylor CD. But, I’m hooked and will tune in next week to see this season through to its conclusion. Next week’s blogging should be fun.

Kat stinks, plain and simple. Every performance she gives is like an audition for a broadway show, like Grease. Seriously, when she sings next week, watch the facial expressions, hand movements, etc. I seriously feel like I’m watching a play. Even Randy has made comments before about her being “theatrical”. It’s annoying. Who votes for her? And if I hear another “okay” (as in “you don’t know what you’re talking about”) after judges criticism, I think I’ll throw up.

Kat is more marketable mainstream, but Taylor does have a following. So, I guess the true tale of American Idol will be who sells the most albums! NOT, who wins the competition. Good morning all. Why all the trash talking about Kat. I have to admit, she was not my favorite in the beginning, but she did sing “Over the Rainbow” great the other night, bottom line.

This will probably be my last blog, so I am going to lay it on the line.

The problem that I have with this whole season is that there was never any true talent. Yeah, Mandisa had a nice voice, Chris was a rocker, Paris had a great voice, yadayadayada!!! But this year was by far the worse year of American Idol. With the exception of Elliot, everyone seemed to be impersonators. Taylor sounds like Ray Charles (please), Kat could be the next Brittany or Christina, Chris sounds like Creed and on and on.

I don’t recall ever comparing Kelly, Fantasia, Ruben or Clay to anyone. You know why? Because they were original, they had true talent. This year has been a let down.

And finally, this statement may make a lot of people mad, but I am tired of people acting like Taylor really has so much soul and Kat can really sing Aretha. For anyone who has ever seen “The Five Heartbeats”, remember that episode where the record company put white people on the album cover of the “The Five Heartbeats”, a black group, because it would be more marketable? It is still going on today. People get so excited when white people sing like Ray Charles or Aretha Franklin and they eventually are given more credit for it. New Kids on the Block, even though they only lasted for a minute, got more exposure in that short period of time than New Edition, who were more talented and had been around longer. All they did was steal their moves. Same with N’Sync. Jackson 5 wannabes. So you see, nothing has changed. That is why Taylor will win because America loves to see a white boy with soul. (Remember Elvis)

Finally, I got all of this off of my chest. Now, and many of you will love this, I don’t ever had to blog again.

Kat’s theatrical and that is true.

Taylor is karoke of Stevie, Ray, Joe, etc… and that is true

Both have some serious faults. However, Kat is beautiful and has a good voice. Taylor can almost make anyone smile with his crazy antics.

People just stop the whole hating on Kat thing because of her looks. In case you don’t know or have not been out lately looks matter a whole lot. It matters how you get treated in the mall, at the grocery store and most importantly in a job interview. The job interview part is exactly what she is doing. Now it shouldn’t, matter but it does and if you don’t know that then I am sorry. If you are interviewing for a face type postition it matters. Just like if you are interviewing for a telemarketer position is would matter about your voice and not your looks. Then you could say the beautiful girl with the raspy voice doesn’t get chosen over the nice womanly voice of the not so beautiful lady.

Yes Jex. I feel like a proud momma over. It does my hear good to see the talent that comes out of Alabama make a name for themselves, of course as long as it’s positive.

I know. I wish the Taylor hate will stop. But hey, everyone is entitled to there own opinion. But I will say this, for all the Taylor hate, guess who has the last laugh. Regardless if he wins or not, he’s still final 2 & will have a record deal. I just pray they take care of him & give him good writer & producers on the album.

This will be the last time I watch American Idol. I loved Elliott and I voted for him more than 20 times last Tuesday. He was, without a doubt, the best voice in this season, so warm, it made me melt. But now, I feel that I have to keep watching so I can vote for Taylor. Katherine is way overrated!! This is not America Next Top Model!

Now that my man Elliott is out, my support goes to Taylor all the way. After seeing Kat’s family’s inappropriate reaction after Elliott was kicked off, I wanted to throw up. You didn’t see Taylor’s family and friends jumping up and down and carrying on. Just when you watch the final results show….whoever sings the single first is the loser. They always let the winner go out on the song that they’re releasing after the show is over.

Alan, I’m with you. But I’m the type of person that looks past the looks. You can be the most beautiful person, but if you have jacked up attitude or come off arrogant, that external beauty means nothing.

I can honestly say that I’ve never said anything mean about Kat for the exception of the occassional “puppies” joke. That’s why I liked Paris, Mandesa, & a couple of other female contestants so much (the jury is still out on Lisa). I kind of like Pickler but the airhead act got on my nerves. They came of genuine(sp?) to me, even it some of it was an act, they played it very well. Kat just doesn’t seem real to me. She has this “cardboard cut-out” persona to me; not much personality.

Good morning guys: I hated to see Elliot leave but I knew it was coming. Is it just me or does anyone else feel that Katherine may win this thing? I KNOW Taylor SHOULD win but I have a strong feeling it will be Katherine.

On another note, all my ANTM fans: I’m so happy Danielle is America’s NTM. Once Jade was ousted I just knew Danielle would win. Didn’t she look glamorous at the final cut. This is the only show where the two left standing were actually friends. My only problem was at the end when Danielle started to hug Tyra and Tyra hugged Joanie first. Kind of an awkward moment.

I think all the people, especially, women, who are bashing Kat are just jealous that she is young , very attractive and very talented!! They like Taylor because he’s a regular guy who fat and gray like their husbands! It’s all about hating on the person who’s more successful than you because your a loser who sits on your coach and dreams of making it big, while this girl is actually doing it. Yes, she’s hot, but guess what so are all of your most succesful performers, even though they don’t have the best voice - Jessica, Britney, Faith etc. So all you PCer’s who want average to win to make you feel better about yourself’s get over it.

Hey Eve….I can’t really comment on the “awkward” moment. I was too busy doing the happy dance around my den. Yes, Danielle looked fabulous at the final cut. I thought Joanie’s outfit was very cute. They both truly looked like top models. But Danielle definately was ready to walk out the door to the runway or Vogue Cover.

Jex, if Danielle would have said that, I would have died.

I can’t wait to see what she does first. But I’m anxious to see her CoverGirl ad run.

I don’t think Kat is that pretty. I thought Kelli was sexier in an innocent way. Us females are not jealous of her because most of us look as good or better than her. And most of us have better figures than her. It is not a jealousy thing. We just want to see a good performance and she is pretty boring to me. She has no personality, can’t dance, and her songs are just boring, boring songs. She reminds me of someone who sings at a high school teen miss pagent. She should have gone home instead of Elliott. Elliott is the real singer and Taylor is the real performer. Chris was the sexy one. Kelli was the funny one. Each contestant is unique in their own way. I think everyone is saying Kat is so pretty because she is the only female left. I don’t remember anyone saying how pretty she was before now or for any of the other females. Pretty does not make a good singer. AND I read in one of the earlier blogs that Kat had been intimate with her FATHER! Is that true? Maybe that is why she doesn’t acknowledge her family. I give credit where credit is due, and Kat just can’t compare with the rest of the contestants. It sure is suspect to me that she is still there. Kelli got voted off because she forget her lines, so why didn’t Kat get voted off for the same reason? Kelli could only sing country, but she sang country much better than Kat can sing anything.

okayyyyyyy…I HAVE to call attention to something disgusting I saw last night. When it was made known that Elliott would be going home, the face of Kat made me want to fly out to CALI just to kick her A&^…Taylor had a truly somber, upset look on his face and it would’ve taken something a lot worse to wipe the smile off Kat’s face. The only chance (slight) she has of winning next week is if, WHAT am I talking about, she has NO chance of winning. I agree w/many of the comments above. What is with her dad and the amount of airtime…do we care if he cries? I’m sure daddy’s little princess can do no wrong.

Ok, here we go talking about what’s wrong with Kat again and the discussion centers on everything BUT her singing. I hate Kat’s family, whines one…I hate Kat’s clothes, whines another…I hate Kat’s money, power, spoiledness, sense of entitlement, attitude, smile, WHATEVER! Her family cheered(and heaven forbid that anybody should be happy for their daughter when YOUR favorite just lost)because Kat has been in danger of being eliminated for 2 weeks and they knew that and they were RELIEVED. Tell me, how many times have we ALL cheered when our favorite DIDN’T get eliminated…and we aren’t even realted to any of them!

Preach Deirdre Preach… I personally thought it was pretty sad that Taylor wasn’t happy to be going to the finals. He should have been cheering for himself first. Maybe he didn’t want to go.

There is nothing wrong with Katherine being happy she made it to the final two. Good for her and she should have been happy and showed. I can promise you Taylor was just as happy and he should have let his fans know it.

That still places Carrie in the number 2 range of all of the finalists and her title is just a year old. She is tied with Clay someone who didn’t even win. Only Kelly has sold more than Carrie or Clay. The important thing for Carrie is she is just beginning.

I’m not anticipating a very good original song either….I mean, A Moment Like This has become the best known of the Idol original songs but it is cheesy, too. Unless they have a real lively song this year, Kat will have the advantage with that piece of music. I think she’ll be able to deal with the cheese factor better than Taylor. Unless he really hams it up then he could easily get the “Thank goodness someone understands just how bad these songs are ” vote.

Yeah, why are the songs written for the final 2 contestants always corny? I liked the one that Kelly did - “A Moment Like This”? But the rest have been so-so or just bad.

And it’s hard for me to imagine Kat and Taylor doing the same song. But they will both put their own spin on it I guess. Like Carrie and Bo did last time.

greg. there is nothing to debate. they each have achieved success in their own way. They both received recognition for their freshman albums, winning grammies. And as someone said yesterday, Fantasia is starring in her own autobiography movie on Lifetime. I can see Fantasia being a really good actress…her life eperiences have not always been easy and that generally brings out passion and emotion in a person. Acting will come easily for her. And her music will continue…just as Carrie’s will.

Morning bloggers still wiping tears from her eyes

I see you all are riled up early today. I’m still really sad that Elliot didn’t make the finals. You know, I don’t think I’ve been this attached to any contestant since Kimberley Locke lost in the final 3 during season 2. And just like with K-Lo…I will be all about buying Elliot’s album as SOON as it hits the stores. He showed true character and class last night, and as I’ve said before, demonstrated why (beyond looks and even his music) he is truly worthy of being an American Idol.

Oh well, next week will be like so many other finale weeks where I really don’t care who wins. While I’d like Taylor to win…i’d rather Kat be stuck with the AI contract. Either way, I won’t be voting….and if it’s like last night (with so many good shows on at once, including the NBA playoffs) then I’ll hardly watch.

I’m out to lunch…will catch up with y’all later.

Chris I totally agree with what you said about AI using the percentages. There is no way I’m going to believe the votes were that close. They did it that way so they can justify Katherine winning next week. I’ve always felt that when it gets down to the last 4 contestants the producers of the show makes the decisions. And they always oust a favorite for shock value (Chris). I don’t like Taylor or Katherine, but I prefer Katherine because she seems more marketable and she is beautiful. Taylor is a one trick pony. I do not see a long career for him.

When did Fantasia WIN a Grammy? It was stated last night she was nominated for several but no one said she had won one. And on the Grammy website it doesn’t show her winning a Grammy.

As to who will be more sucessful. Each has their own fans, but considering Fantasia’s debut albulm has been out for over a year and has 2 million plus sales and Carrie’s has been out just a few months and has already exceeded 2 million with new singles still being released, I think it will be easy to say Carrie outsold Fantasia on the debut. But Kellie Clarkston only sold about 3 million on the debut, but the next albulm has exploded to over 11 million and is still climbing. So maybe Fantasia’s next albulm will do better..But I don’t think so. Sorry, I’m just not a fan. I thought Vonzell (I think that was her name) should have won.

I’ll say it again..the MPD knows how to work the system and has backdoored his way back in again. GURLS! None of the comments today are the real Jeff. The MPD seems to have outsmarted himself. WHO WOULD POSSIBLY WANT TO IMPERSONATE JEFF? Anyone have thoughts on this?

Hi Ken: I think Eva and Danielle will be equally successful. They both have down-to-earth personalities. Eva probably did the XXL spread because her covergirl contract is up. She was in a video w/Jamie Foxx and has a movie coming out. I think Danielle will be the bigger runway model because she has the build and height for that. I’m so proud of her and I’m with Jex, I wish she would have said “Shut yo’ mouth and say it ain’t so” when Tyra told her she was the winner. That would have been priceless.

Wow Eve, I was thinking the same thing earlier. Eva is great and has a killer walk. But she’s still short for a supermodel, especially for the runways. I saw her making the Jamie Foxx video and on some television series. She’s a pretty good actress. But I think Danielle will blow them out of the water with her modeling career.

Wow, lots going on today. Not shocked that the E-train has left the station, I was hoping for that shocker that Katharine was actually the one leaving.
For some reason, I don’t really believe those percentages for the votes. Y’all know I don’t like Katharine, personally and vocally. I think she has an ok voice, but for someone who grew up with a mom for a vocal coach, she should know not to sing from her throat as much as she does. She has no reallys strength behind her tone, now I am not saying she can’t BELT IT OUT, but there is a difference. Why must audiences start applauding just because a performer starts singing louder and holds out a note (not necessarily a good one!)?! Anyways - GO TAYLOR!!!!

MJ’s blog is screaming about the voting system. For those of you who remember the big ruckus when Ruben beat Clay, they believed that a vote that close was a virtual tie and that there should be a revote…or we should all only get one vote….stuff like that. Now people are talking that elliot and Kat were so close that no one knows for sure if the votes were counted right. Same thing happened last week when Chris left. It’s always the systems fault and never just the fact thet someone got more votes than the person you voted for.

The thing is…we don’t really know who came in first…it could have been Kat. I found it very interesting that Kat had the smallest turnout of folks supporting her; or so it looked and she’s still in the running.

She just doesn’t seem “natural” on stage to me or when giving an interview. I get the impression she really is a “valley girl.”

There is no way that the votes were that close between Taylor and the others. I was dialing for Taylor the entire 2 hours and my wife was dialing for Kat the entire 2 hours.

I got through for Taylor a total of 5 times for the entire 2 hours and my wife was able to get through for Kat over 40 times.

Dialidol had both of Taylor’s lines busy nearly 90% of the time and the rest less than 70%.
