no surprise there, Rodney — both sides of Tay’s single are more likely to sell, while only a limited number are likely to put out money to buy a very recycled single, b-side no less, of Rainbow, no matter HOW good it is, and no one, i do mean NO ONE is likely to care a whit about buying destiny….the song might have had potential, but the schlocky arrangement and predictable words made it more than just cheese, it was limburger!
which is a shame, because i truly think Kat deserves better than that!!! i’d like to hear HER version of Proud, and Tay’s version of Destiny! now THAT might prove interesting…. or better yet…
they sounded so much alike, why not do one of those weird duets where each person sings their own song, then intertwines them with each other???
hmmmmm

On Larry King Live, Kat said that she really liked her Destiny song. She said that her voice was tired, so they lowered it one step for the finale, which made it somewhat weaker. But she said she thought people will really like what they hear on the single.
Rodney: I don’t have alot of Amazon experience. Are these people buying advance copies, or just buying in advance, or what?

The fact Randy Jackson said on the final that he doesn’t like Kat’s song can’t be helping sales. I’m sure her marketing folks weren’t happy with that comment! But I think Kat will do well in the long run. On the other hand, Taylor is still red-hot, but could be old news by 2007 IF his marketers let us forget about his magnetic charm.

Taylor is a good lounge act. He will not make it on CD or radio. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Taylor!!! I knew would go all the way, except for Mandissa(sp), and he would make it to the top. A great act to watch!!! Kat could go either way. Just have to see what the public says.

I can’t believe this is being treated as serious news. People who follow “American Idol” are either socially disabled or mentally impaired.

Sometimes it pays to be #2……..and the real winner may end up being KAT.
Check this report out: It was confirmed yesterday that American Idol runner-up, bluesy songstress Katharine McPhee, will join Andrea Bocelli on his June tour. I don’t know if you could really call it a tour, seeing as how all but two of the dates are in Los Angeles, but nonetheless it should be a hot summer ticket, although it’s no rival to the American Idols Live tour, which has sold out so quickly they’ve recently added 20 more dates. It only goes to show just how much more popular this show has become over the years. The tour, which at first was struggling so bad it was nearly scrapped altogether, has now become one of the hottest events of the summer. How will Katharine do Bocelli and Idol you ask? Well, Bocelli’s tour is in June and the Idol tour doesn’t begin until July.
In other interesting McPhee news, “Think” has been replaced with her signature song “Over The Rainbow” (which they have wrongly titled “Somewhere Over The Rainbowâ€?), presumably the one she just recently recorded with big-time producer David Foster (Bocelli, Dion, Houston). Originally, Katharine’s post-Idol single was to be the God-awful “My Destiny” with the Aretha Franklin cover from the Idol CD Encores as a B-Side, according to the image of her CD cover at Amazon. Oddly though, “Think” is still listed as the 2nd track. Looks like Katharine’s got a busy year ahead of her considering the fact that she’s got her album to develop and record, two tours to embark on, loads of press, a call from Steven Spielberg, and a rumored casting in Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman.
See ya in Las Vegas Taylor! zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Wait up! Ok. Let’s say the most Tay Tay can do is “Las Vegas” and such venues. Isn’t that what a great number of artists do Wayne Newton, Elvis later in his career, and many others? Wayne and others have produced records while in Vegas and have made quite a bit of money doing so/both.
After 10 years plus of performing to crowds of 30 people or less in clubs everywhere, I would venture to say that Tay Tay is going to be really happy with his future and will do quite well financially and otherwise.
As for Kat, I always heard a lot of Christina Aguilera like vocals in her performances and as such I don’t think she’ll ever elevate to the heights that Celine Dion or even Kelly Clarkston rose to, still I wish her all the success in the world. She sure has the looks and more for the soaps or part in a movie.
To tell you the truth, I think that Kat would find the most success in a play or opera and not through records, like with Taylor, I am not buying.

LOL Dude, we’re being generous with a career in Las Vegas for “tay tay”……..which dude, come on, sounds really “gay gay”. I think u dont give Kat much credit. With the right songs and studio sound, she will be hot and contemporary…….something “tay tay” will never be with his michael mcdonald/joe cocker sound. and it even looks like Kat has acted before and is prime to pick up some film roles. Man, if madonna can make a career of music and film and not even be as talented as Kat vocally, I think the future bodes well for Kat.

no worries greg………she’s due for an eating disorder first……….i’d worry bout “tay tay”….he was ballooning up all through idol…..and he wont be able to dance his jigs if he reaches “reubenesque” size. LOL
