12/18: Want an Idol at your wedding?

The New York Post reports that various “American Idol” contestants are offering their services to sweet 16 parties, weddings and other celebrations.

The range, the story says, is $2,000 for Kimberly Caldwell from season two (she’s on TV Guide channel) to $150K for a Ruben Studdard.

How much would you pay for various “Idol” contestants to show up at your wedding and sing a few songs?

I’d pay for Ruben to sing at my wedding, bar mitzvah or just a private how… I love his new cd… he’s got such a great voice. It’s just a shame to me that he hasn’t enjoyed the success of Kelly Clarkston or Carrie Underwood. But I love his music just the same!

Let’s see, the only person I can think of that I would actually pay money to sing at my wedding would be Reuben because he could definitely do “Here and Now” some justice. But, I don’t think he’s worth $150,000. Maybe $20k. As far as the reception and doing a couple of songs, I would pay for Tasia, Jen, Paris or Taylor to do my reception. I like R&B music and think all four of them would do great songs.

Can Taylor sing at his own wedding? I don’t know how that’s going to work out once we tie the knot. But we’ll figure it out I guess.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Hey Shay! I don’t think Ruben’s worth $150k either, but I didn’t want to say anything. Personally I’m cheap, so if they won’t do it for the exposure, forget it.

I’d give PCD $500 to do Wit U. But I can’t think of any “idol” (other than Taylor) whom I would actually pay to sing.

Yeah, I have to agree Jex. To be brutally honest, I don’t think I would pay any of them to sing, even if I did have the money. Maybe Taylor, but that’s a big maybe. But if someone else was paying for it, then I would take any of the four I mentioned in my last post.

Good Morning! I would pay Taylor to sing at my wedding and no one else. BTW, you are speaking with a proud ticket holder to Taylor’s ATL show :-)I am now in the market for some back stage passes!

LOL, Carla, Kevin does a mean chicken dance I am sure. Money well spent!

It’s my wedding so I’m feeling a bit generous.

I’d pay JPL $19.95 to do some Elvis covers, but he has to do the dancing as well.

If you want Ruben, pay him whatever you want, but don’t have your dinner buffet-style.

That’s ridiculous. Just go down to your local karaoke bar and hire someone for $100, I’ll bet the quality wouldn’t be that different. You would have to pay me to listen to some of these so-called “Idols.”

I’d pay Bobby $1.99 to do Copa Cabana and Mandy and David (I think that’s his name) $3.99 to do some Sinatra.

I would pay Fantasia to sing at my wedding what ever price she name. She is a true American Idol. Kimberly Caldwell singing is not worth 2 G’s, Ruben wants 150 G’s, He wants to cover his Healthcare Insurance, in case he pass out while singing and eating at the wedding.

I would pay DIana Degarmo good money to perform at a party. She has a wonderful voice and is a wonderful p[erson. She sometimes gets a bad rap=-why i will never know-but she truly is fantastc. Plus, she is easy on the eyes!

Oh my gosh, Carla! I would pay Bobby $5 to do Copa Cabana. And I’d make him wear one of those puffy sleeve shirts. It would be a tropical theme, maybe even on the beach.

Her name was Jexy/She was a showgirl/With pink flowers in her hair and a dress cut down to there…

OMG, Bobby is so not worth $5 Jex. Carla had it right for a buck 99.

By Carla

December 18, 2006 3:39 PM | Link to this

I’d pay the 3 weird cowboy guys $10.99 to perform that sketch again and I’d pay fake Clay $11.02 if he’d scream and jump around on stage like he did when Clay came out on the finale. But he must be authentic and his facial expressions and shaking must be funny!

By Shay

December 18, 2006 3:47 PM | Link to this

Oooh, I would pay George Huff a few bucks. He is genuinely nice. Diana Degarmo would have to pay me to sing at my wedding.

LOL!! Focus Jex focus. We’re talking singing her not haircuts. But on the same note, I would do Tasia’s hair for free.

By jex

December 18, 2006 4:20 PM | Link to this

Oh, okay. Actually, I’d give Tasia upwards of $50 to do Summertime at the family reunion.

Would that be Summertime from AI or Will Smith’s Summertime because that’s how her hair look like she is headed to a cook out.

She’s too busy with her career to sing at my wedding, but I’d pay Diana to come there and sing for me. My other choice would be George Huff.

By no way

Why the hell would I want an idol at my wedding. How about HELL NO. Most of these people are talentless.

By diane

December 19, 2006 4:52 PM | Link to this

I agree that I could not imagine paying anyone 150k to sing at my wedding. Not worth the price, but if money was no object, i would change a few line of And I am telling you and jenny could sing it at the reception.
