9/2: David Cook to be on Oprah season debut
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
David Cook is set to appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” September 8 for her season debut in an Olympic theme. His song ‘Time of My Life” was used on NBC during the Opening Ceremonies and he sings it here.
My TV colleague Maureen Ryan covered the taping..
-Jennifer Hudson’s “Spotlight” video is available here.. Arista won’t let it be embedded so you’ll have to link to it. It definitely has a feminist feel to it.
-Jordin Sparks has the top “Idol” download with “One Step At a Time,” which now has sold 545K, according to Idol Chatter.. “No Air” is up to 2.43 million. Her single moves up to No. 7 on the top 40 charts and has a solid chance of going top 5, making it her third. She has now sold more than 5 million downloads.
David Archuleta’s “Crush” is moving up on the top 40 chart to 26, leapfrogging Daughtry’s “What About Now” at No. 27 (which is still moving up and has sold 309K in downloads) and a slipping David Cook “Time of My Life” at No. 28 (with 843K total in download sales). “Crush” slips to 22 from 6 on download sales but is up to 304K.
Carrie Underwood’s “Just a Dream” is moving closer to top 10 and is now up to No. 12. The download is at No. 59 and has sold 136K. Bucky Covington is knocking on the door of the top 20 again with “I’ll Walk” holding at No. 21. Kellie Pickler is jammed at No. 28 at “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful” but like Bucky is still gaining airplay.
Hudson’s “Spotlight” is at No. 21 on the urban charts with a pickup in airplay. The single grew 43% last week to 95 for a total of 92K.
