10/1: A potpourri of Gone Country, Kellie Pickler, Chris Sligh
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Quiet day so far. I’ll add more later if anything notable happens:
-I finally caught up with the finale of CMT’s “Gone Country” with season four’s Mikalah Gordon. While Sean Young and Lorenzo Lamos did not embarrass themselves, Mikalah made a false start, tried to serenade John Rich, then brought a little girl on stage. Very gimmicky, not very warm. Sebastian Bach, formerly of Skid Row, earned the win. With Kid Rock on the country charts, I could see Sebastian actually crossing over.
-On October 21, Carrie Underwood’s “Carnival Ride” is getting an added Christmas CD, exclusive at Wal-Mart.
-And surprisingly, Kim Kardashian and her boring persona was ousted from “Dancing With the Stars.? I thought Rocco Dispirito was a goner.
-Kellie Pickler has resisted a reality TV show so far, she told CMT:
“I’ve been offered so many reality shows just to have people follow me around,” she tells CMT.com. “I don’t see why anybody would want to follow me around all day because I’m really not that interesting. I told my manager, ‘I can’t do it. It’d be like ‘bleep bleep.’ They wouldn’t be able to show anything. It’d be like a whole television show of nothing. It would be muted the whole way. There would be no talking, and I’d probably get committed into some home. … They’d probably take me away to some psychiatric ward because I’m nuts. But, yeah, I can’t have one unless they have it on, like, HBO at night.”
-Chris Sligh is inviting folks to lip sync to his song “Empty Me” and the best ones will be spliced together into a video. More details here.

LOL thanks Rodney — interesting tidbits. I can see Bach actually doing something, as you said. Mikalah, nah, never could quite see that one. I just couldn’t watch it this go-round, found it to be boring and repetitive, i mean, how many times can you try to make someone experience “country” living by tossing manure or whatever in one day? doesn’t work; it would need to be a much more in-depth show showing REAL country life struggles to interest me, and even then, not sure i’d go for it. i mean — take a non-city person (take that however you will) and drop them in new york city and film a half hour of them trying to catch a cab — and then tell me that’s showing how to citify some yokel. NOT!!!

Whew! Just got back to Norcross from Griffin. That is a drive, let me tell you. Round trip was over 150 miles. And to think that in 3 weeks I will have to drive daily to Griffin. Of course from my home, a round trip will be only 128 miles. Not much better.
What a delight Kellie is to be so forthright and honest. Maybe more should take lessons from her on what it means to be honest.
GAgirl, I do agree with your assessment on Cloris. Although I have always like her comedy, the novelty act is wearing thin here. If we are lucky, maybe she will be the next to go.
Now I guess I better at least look busy, even though all the bosses are in Griffin. I do have things I can be working on, but…………. Catch my drift?

why thanks pappy! always aim to please, yanno? JT, honey I’m sorry, I just can’t see why KK makes you so hot… seems you guys would want to daydream/fantacize about a woman who at least ACTS like she’d be good ahem to be with… KK just is so self-absorbed, to the point that she doesn’t even WIGGLE! come on now… really!

JT and WP - it’s so good to know that my post wasn’t the only ones that got lost. I posted twice and neither one showed, so I thought I had dreamt that I had posted and really didn’t. My sanity is still intact, at least for now.
I’m gonna wrap my day and head home in a few. Stay safe and drive careful.

Linny I’m fairly well grounded in reality, and reality shouts out – never going happen! Even if the opportunity for something to happen came up, it would never happen. That makes it all the easier for me to ignore the slight flaws in favor of KK’s clearly superior assets.
Oh and she doesn’t have to wiggle, I’m not interested in wiggling.

Is Oprah going to be barred from her own set if she refuses to comply with question restrictions?
My opinion of Oprah will skyrocket if she asks about the photo-shop issue.
