Brat Pack love and memories

Molly Ringwald, the teen queen of ’80s movie classics “Pretty in Pink,” “The Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles,” has grown up and moved on to Broadway. (To read Tuesday’s Living story on Ringwald, click here.) But to many, Ringwald and the group who starred in those movies will forever be the Brat Pack. (Want to know where they all are now? Click here.)

Who was your favorite member of the Brat Pack? And what is your favorite Brat Pack movie?

I have always loved “Pretty in Pink” the most out of all of the Brat Pack movies from the eighties. “The Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles” had their moments, but Duckie and Annie Potts and the Dice Man really bring back the ’80s for me like no other teen actors from that time. I can’t remember how many classes I cut during my sophomore year to see that movie!

It’s tough to be a has-been at 40, schlepping around in some creaky tour. She should double up with confessed sex fiend and teen queen Debbie Gibson.

Tiffany, drag the cat claws back in honey. Molly is long way from a has been. She is doing a job that she loves & is good at. She has a beautiful daughter, a good job & is very happy, what more could a person want out of life?

It’s nice that Molly has a best friend named Becky to stick up for her. Molly was always my least favorite of the Pack.

“The Breakfast Club” was always my favorite, with “Pretty In Pink” a close second. I’ve watched Molly since Facts Of Life, and she’s a great actress. Not the prettiest in the pack, but there is something about her.

Definitely “Sixteen Candles” (Gedde Watanabe was hilarious), but all the Brat Pack movies are classics. I’ve probably seen “The Breakfast Club” more than any of the others, but I love “Pretty in Pink” too, plus the non-Ringwald “St. Elmo’s Fire.”

16 Candles. After Molly had given the skinny kid, her panties, and the kid, told the jock that if he hurt Molly, he would find a way to get him back. Best part I ever saw in a movie. I loved it.

Tiffany should really get some help for some anger issues! But on to the topic. The best brat pack movie was “The Breakfast Club.” That movie at some point reminded everyone of there high school. Whether it was the teacher being a jerk, the bully, or one of the other charactors, we all had at least one at our school. But not far behind was ” Sixteen Candles.” How many movies have had a line like “no more yanky my wanky.” And Molly might not be the most beautiful actress of that era but every teenage guy wanted to be the one getting her panties.

I also meant to bring something to Tiffany’s attention. Any career where you arew able to work for over twenty years and especially in Hollywood should be considered successful. And by the way, neither Debbie Gibson or Molly Ringwald has ever been in the news shaving their head, drunk of their a*******e$, or being lousy parents. The teen stars of today are so much better than those of the eightees. NOT!!!!!!

Wasn’t a huge fan of MR, but I loved the movies she was in for their great writing and outstanding performances by supporting players. Funniest has to be “Sixteen Candles”. I have seen that one many times but I still laugh ‘til I drop. Gedde Watanabe, the Cusack siblings, and the greatest geek of all time, Anthony Michael Hall all deserve a standing ovation. I still swoon over Molly’s kiss with Judd Nelson in “The Breakfast Club,” and Jon Cryer absolutely stole the show in “Pretty in Pink” although James Spader was deliciously evil. Those three movies are the trifecta of what it was like to be a teen in the ’80s. The library in “Breakfast Club” looked like a souped-up version of my old Griffin High library, and didn’t I see a Georgia flag in the corner in one scene? My 17-year-old daughter (who recently told me she’s proud to have been born in the ’80s - yeah, the last fifteen days of the ’80s!)loves them all too. Long live the ’80s!
