This weekend it’s ‘No Country’ vs. ‘Beowulf’
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Here’s my indubitable list of what matters most among new movies this weekend:
1. “No Country for Old Men” — Finally, a Coen brothers movie just like I like it: violent, dark, tense, relentless. The acting is good across the board, too.
2. “Beowulf” — Visually watchable. See it in 3D and don’t expect too much. And if you don’t like action movies, don’t go.
3. “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” — Just don’t go … period.

I’ve heard great things about the Coen brother’s film — I’ll definitely be seeing that one. I’ve also heard some interesting positives about “Beowulf,” so I’m excited to see if it can live up to the hype.
I’d rather be punched in the neck by an angry, lead-filled Thomas the Tank Engine than see Mr. Magoriums House of Crap.

Positively one of the best films of the year. Haunting experience. The Coens return to their top notch filmmaking that we saw in “Blood Simple” and “Fargo”. Great cinematography again by Roger Deakins. Numerous themes touched upon. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
