All you need to know about new movies this weekend
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Here’s my indubitable take on what matters most among new movies this weekend:
1. “Alice’s House.” Worthy and nicely realized diary of a mad Brazillian housewife.
2. “College Road Trip.” With the help of a tamed Martin Lawrence, Raven-Symone plays directly to her under-12 fan base.
3. “10,000 B.C.” “Apocalypto Ultra Lite.” Nice to know that so long ago there were men and women with trendy dreadlocks, perfectly straight white teeth and the ability to speak better English than the Angles, Saxons and Jutes.
4. “Diva.” Less edgy and mysterious than it was 27 years ago. But still very French.
5. “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day.” I’d retitle this period-piece bore “Miss Pettigrew Arrives Feet First.”
