‘21’ holds most of the better cards this weekend

Here’s my indubitable list of what matters most among new movies this weekend:

1. “21.” Serviceable entertainment with lots of shots of Vegas.

2. “Stop-Loss.” The Iraq War as star vehicle for Ryan Phillippe. A lot better than “Rendition” but not as good as “In the Valley of Elah.”

3. “Run, Fat Boy, Run.”I hate it when counterculture types (in this case, writer Michael Ian Black and writer/star Simon Pegg) go mainstream.

4. “Flawless.” I hate it more when mainstreamers (in this case, Demi Moore) go ultra-mainstream.

5. “Chicago 10.” See it only for the archival footage of riots at the 1968 Chicago Democratic Convention.

6. Married Life.” Cheaters, backstabbers, liars and potential murderers. Too bad the movie barely delivers.

7. “Snow Angels.” It’s slow and depressing just before it gets slower and more depressing.
