Mr.Heston was classic in every movie he did and displayed his versatility in a variety of movie types. My favorite movies of his were The Greatest Show on Earth , where he was a circus manager, The Ten Commandments, Moses, Soylent Green .NYC cop of the future, Ben Hur,chariot driver & Earthquake architect.
His history and longevity of marriage are an inspiration to us all!

There were so many others. El Cid; The Agony & the Ecstasy; The Big Country (and his all day fistfight with Gregory Peck); a dual role in “Motherlode” with Kim Bassinger; the over the hill quarterback in “Number One”; The President’s Lady (as Andrew Jackson again); and of course, Planet of the Apes. A magnificent actor and a great man.

I like a lesser known film,”Secret of the Incas” a 1951 movie. Filmed in Peru and reportedly the inspiration for the Indiana Jones films. Check out his outfit, copied by Harrison Ford as Indiana.

Though I enjoyed many of his works, there are 3 that stick out in my mind. The obvious “Ben Hur” but “The Wreck of the Mary Deare” w/ Gary Cooper gets my vote along w/ a lessor known work “Mother Lode” from 1982. He palys a dual role and does a very good job at it. Very hard to find and not out on DVD as of yet.
