What was your favorite scene in ‘Iron Man’?

I hope Hollywood, basking now in the prospects of a profitable summer now that “Iron Man” is a proven hit, realizes what is going on.

“Iron Man” has earned more than $200 million worldwide in just five days because it’s a fun movie with a compelling story and excellent performances. The CGI is good too, but the film doesn’t totally ride on it.

Because all those elements clicked, word of mouth spread quickly and the audience developed beyond the standard fan boy base. Some 57 percent of the weekend audience was above age 25.

All weekend, I’ve been trying to decide which scene in the movie was my favorite. I especially liked the first “learning to fly” sequence in Tony Stark’s garage. But I also like Iron Man’s first entrance, with Robert Downey Jr. in primitive cast iron gear kicking some insurgent butt in a far away cave.

What was your favorite moment in “Iron Man”? Will you see the movie again?

LOVED this movie. I wanted to see it again this weekend but my yard was a mess. Now that I have a neatly groomed yard, I will be seeing this movie again.

I loved the ending. I am Iron Man…

Does the scene after the end of the credits count? Because I REALLY liked that scene!

Other favorites: The final battle - particularly the mid-air sequence - was really well done. Liked the final press conference as well - particularly the last line of it. The entire sequence with the fire-extinguishing bot - that thing nearly stole those scenes! The “Minority Report”-esque design sequence with the flight stabilizer. The ‘replacement’ scene between Starks/Pepper was good.

Overall, as you can see, it is EXTREMELY hard to pick just ONE good scene from this EXCELLENT movie!!! (By FAR the BEST Marvel has done to date!)

I like the scene where Iron Man goes to Afhganistan and his radar shows which people are good and which are the bad and snipes out the bad people. Then, when the ring leader tries to hide behind the wall, he grabs him and throws him to the ground and tells the people they can have him. It was funny. I am DEFINITELY going to see this movie again.

Oh my GOSH!!!!! I took my 11 year old son last night and LOVED IT!!!! Great music (when ‘Back in Black’ started playing… I quickly whispered to my son “I used to cheer to this in High School” he rolled his eyes and said SHHHHH!)… Robert Downey Jr was FAB!!!! The entire cast…. incredible…. Paltrow….lovely and pulled off the quirky/shy assistant… Bridges ROCKED as the bad guy…almost didn’t recognize him…. he seemed…taller than usual. The Iron Man in flght was unreal!!!!

OK…so favorite scene? Did everyone catch the end after the credits???? I knew that was an Easter Egg from the whispers afterwards…so got to catch that.. BUT……favorite scene I think….. is at the end when you see the mischief overtake Downey…and he says “Yes..I am IRONMAN”…. oh yes. Oh no… WAIT!! it may have also been when Pepper tells the sassy blonde reporter that she also takes the trash out….. Yes…that was it.

Cheers!!! We LOVE IRONMAN!!!!!!

Whooo hoooo!

Fave scene: When Stark tells Rhodes that he is late because he was “doing a piece for Vanity Fair”, and by piece he means, the reporter herself.

Great movie. Fully expect to see it again soon.

How could anyone who has seen this movie only choose one scene as a favorite? This movie was fabulous! Fun, terrific acting, super special effects without anything looking cheesy or fake (wish I could say the same for the new Hulk film). This movie had it all! All the previous comments pretty much covered my favorite moments of the film. Even if you aren’t a comic hero fan, this movie is a must-see!

There’s a 100 favorite scenes in this movie! Here’s something my buddy pointed out; In the scene where Tony and Rhodey are enjoying some Hot Sake on the Stark Jet, the music and video playing in the background is from Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ghostface Killah who’s alias in the group is Tony Stark. That shows how hip this movie is, there’s something for everybody.

I’ll admit that I only thought this movie was good. My sister though gave it 2 thumbs up. I will say that Iron Man as an action flick really must be seen on the big screen in order to appreciate it.

As far as my favorite scene goes…. Well the funny ones, the ones where Tony Stark is interacting with his robot. If I had to pick an absolute favorite, it would be the fall back to earth when Tony/Iron Man is doused with the extinguisher.

Viv:

At least Samuel L Jackson’s appearance after the credits sets up Downey Jr’s cameo in Hulk this summer as well as the future sequels…

Who knows, maybe - either this summer or in a couple of years - we’ll get a movie that has Hulk in it that doesn’t suck….

When Stark returns from Afganistan and is trying to get the armor off and Pepper walks in on him and he says”Lets face it, this isn’t the worst thing you’ve caught me doing.” Absolutely great movie, kids and adults will love it.

SO MANY GOOD SCENES - DO WE HAVE TO PICK ONE?!?!?! Writing, directing, acting are all brilliant in this. Personally hearing the great Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury at the end ask about the “AVENGERS” was just incredible and you know that Jon Favereau really earned everything in setting that alone up!!! You could just see Jackson’s smirk huge under the eyepatch as what comes next, this was only the ride in first gear - wait till this gets into 3rd!

Best scene? after the credits with Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury ( image taken directly from the ‘Ultimates’comic ) addressing Stark about the Avengers Initiative…outstanding!! and as mentioned before Stark will confront Banner after the credits next month in the ‘Incredible Hulk ‘. One more point about ‘tie-ins’. In the Hulk reference will be made to the ‘Super Solider Formula’ which refers to what turned Captain Steve Rogers back in 1942 into…’Captain America’. Marvel is doing an outstanding job laying the foundation in these movies for each upcoming character not to mention the Avengers…and who might the villian(s) be in such a movie? Considering that blast from Starks reactor reached deep space, the Skrulls of course!

Absolute favorite. That easter egg scene after the credits just made my geek head explode. It took Iron Man from a normal stand alone movie franchise, and declarred THIS IS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE. Thor lives here, Captain America lives here, and Nick Fury most certainly lives here!

But the rest of the scenes were just so great. “I also take out the trash”, The learning to fly. Rhodey’s “Next Time Baby” as he stares at the silver armor. There was not a bad moment in the film, and it had so many layered hidden gems.

ajt:

Thor was mentioned in it? I didn’t catch that!

I did like how they had the one guy from the “Strategic Homeland…..” keep popping up and keep mentioning his office, with the running gag of “you need to work on that name.”

Wow, I’m a 40 something. Late in my 40’s. My girlfriend is on her mid 40’s and we enjoyed the heck out of Iron Man. I’m very critical of movies and usually end up disappointed with the drama. Iron man did not disappoint me in any way. It is a superb performance by a great actor such as Robert Downey Jr. A thrill to see him back on top. Hopefully to stay. NOW, my favorit scene was not in the movie itself. It was watching my girlfriend shaking in excitement during the movie. It was worth every penny and I think I’ll see the movie again with my kids. It’s that good, and I’m not just saying that.

My favorite scene in the movie is the fun one with the compelling story and excellent performances.

Which narrows things down, like, zero.

I was hoping this movie would be a little better than the Fantastic Four films…y’know that they wouldn’t embarrass the character. I’ve ended up enjoying the best superhero flick since Spider-Man 2. It’ll take repeat viewings to truly decide (to which my Inner 12-Year-Old is now screaming “YYYYYESSSSSSS!”) but this might just end up my favorite comic-book flick of all.

I am regretting not buying that stock in Marvel back in April like I considered.

To answer the question, right now it’s a three-way tie between the first flight test, the heart transplant and Tony’s ridiculous version of the Mile-High Club.

There were several good scenes; but, lovelyliz stole my thunder about my favorite. When Tony was flying around and he tried to land but he fell through the house and crashed into the garage instead—then his robot blasted him with the fire extinguisher—I loved that scene.

Took my 9 and 11 year old sons to see this, and we all thought it was THE BEST action movie we have seen in forever. I think the humor is what made it so good and carried it above the Dark Knight.

Favorite scene: when Tony says, “Let’s try it out at just 10%,” and then gets slammed in to the wall, flipping head over heels.

Really GREAT movie! I hope the rest of the summer is as good as this one.

My favorite scene:

” “I am Iron Man.” You think you’re the only super hero in the world? Mr. Stark, you’ve become part of a bigger universe, you just don’t know it yet.”

“Who the hell are you?”

“Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. I’m here to talk to you about the Avengers Initiative.”

Yeah… the greatest scene in the history of comic book movies.

The little scene where Pepper Potts brings in the reporter’s clothes.

“…I am here to do what ever Mr. Stark needs. That includes taking out the trash.”

Hilarious!

So many great scenes-how to choose?! My top three: 1. “Good boy”, 2. “10% thrust”, 3. “You’re all I have, too”. I especially liked the results of Mr. Downey’s efforts to put a positive spin on engineers. Yep, after some hardships and introspection, nerds can be cool, too.
