What did you think of the new ‘Indiana Jones’?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Did you like the new Indiana Jones movie as much as I did?
“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Computer Generated Imagery” seemed to have it all. Gophers, monkeys and an unbelievable swordfight atop moving vehicles in an Amazon jungle.
Seriously, I did enjoy a lot of the movie. I thought “Crystal Skull,” while far inferior to the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” was still fun and entertaining. It was far superior to “Temple of Doom.”
I thoroughly enjoyed the fistfight between Indy and that big Commie while thousands of army ants swarmed around them. (Talk about CGI!).
I think “Crystal Skull” is the second best movie to debut this summer. No way it beats “Iron Man,” which is the best movie so far this summer and last summer and the summer before that.
What did you like or dislike about “Crystal Skull”? Will you see the movie again?

It was pretty good. Worth the price of a movie ticket.

This coming from an Indiana Jones fanatic. I thought Iron Man was good, but not as great as everyone said. Indiana Jones was OK, but I was very disappointed. It had the usual bravado and funnies, but the subject matter was way off base. Somehow I just can’t see inserting flying saucers in an Indiana Jones movie. No one likes over the top stunts and action more than I, but men from Mars? I thought it was easily the fourth best of the Indiana Jones movies. Quality of Indie movies: 1) Raiders, 2) Last Crusade, 3) Temple of Doom, 4) Crystal Skull (by a country mile)

I love Indiana Jones and I was not disappointed. I was not expecting much, and anyone who was was not thinking.
This was meant to be a transition movie for the next Indiana Jones so that it can continue. The Crystal Skull plot itself I thought was stupid, but the movie was very well done and the acting was good.

The alien/interdimensional beings plot sucked, George Lucas should have no say what so ever in the next Indy movie, which they will surely make now that the masses have voted. All of the parts that had nothing to do with the alien/inter. beings were good, it was that part that sucked.

zzzzzzzz
Waste of $20.00 - plot stunk - not believable at all - weird James Dean intro to Mutt - the only thing good about it was the chemistry between Indy and Marion.
I agree with Dave on the order of preference…
Look at the number of responses to this blog - that should tell you that is not going to be a success.

I really enjoyed it. I esp. enjoyed paying $6 for AMC’s pre-noon wknd/holiday ticket price. I wasn’t bored for the whole two hours, and enjoyed the ending between Indie and Marian, and liked the possibly next Indie (Shia LaBeouf, whom I didn’t know prior to this movie). Ya, a little farfetched on the alien/spaceship theme, and Cate Blanchett is a little too weird for me, but on the whole I enjoyed going to see this movie. I just could have done without the (thankfully few) bad words.

I liked it. I think it was true to its earlier movies. I don’t think aliens (different dimensional people) was a stretch for the series. After all, in the 3rd one, there was that centuries old knight who had him drink from the grail and in the others there was voodoo, hearts being ripped out of the living and spirits swirling around the ark. I don’t know why aliens bug people who accepted the strange goings-on in the former movies. also there were many little things in the movie you really had to watch for that were quite cute. I won’t get into them, but it was well executed.

It was FANTASTIC!!! This movie kept my 4 year old enthused. I am happy to say, I made her close her eyes on the really gross parts. I am a true fan of Indiana Jones.

Chance: “George Lucas should have no say what so ever in the next Indy movie”? He’s the creator and writer, and is the reason why you like Indy in the 1st place. I agree with laura. Look forward to more!

Very boring…could not wait for it to END!! I looked at the guy sitting next to my husband and he was asleep. Now Ironman is another story. I would see it again.

Everything about this movie was bad. Easily, the most formulaic and corny movie around. There were so many continuity errors that it was laughable. Lucas/Spielberg are even worse than they were before..

It was awful. And I love Indiana Jones. The acting was terrible (Karen Allen-stick to knitting) I had to look away at the ending when that stupid contrived kiss happened. A second popcorn break was when Shia went swinging through the trees ala Tarzen. That was just weird…and how come no one is confused by the random 8 tribal people that showed up trying to kill Indy and Mutt at the gravesight and then just….disappeared. Who were they? I think two got their butts kicked but what about the rest of them?
God that was awful. I had to go home and watch Lord of the Rings just to remember some people out there know how to make great action movies!
