What’s the best movie so far this year?

My favorite films so far this year:

1. “Iron Man.” Fresh, intelligent and well done. I’ve always thought Robert Downey Jr. was a great actor and he continues to prove me right.

2. “Kung Fu Panda.” I haven’t seen animation this much fun to watch since “Finding Nemo.”

3. “Young@Heart.” Proof that senior citizens can be forever young.

4. “The Fall.” I don’t care that it’s weird. I care that it is visually stunning.

5. “The Signal.” This made-in-Atlanta horror film was underpromoted by its studio and deserves attention. Get it on DVD.

Movies yet to debut that I like a lot: “Wall-E” and “Wanted.”

The Bank Job was a great import. Nice to see Jason Statham in a decent role.

Sex and the City was one of the best movies of the year. Totally delivered what it promised — a fun time with some good old friends. Thanks SPJ and crew for putting together a great movie and a nice love letter to New York.

I enjoyed Sex and the City and Narnia II: Prince Caspian. We are awaiting the 3rd installment and the DVD roll out.

I am still trying to figure out how the ads for Kit Kitteridge convinced me to pay $20 a pop for tix. I had already told my resident American Girl ‘No, I am not paying that kind of money for a movie.” Yet…we will be at the show tomorrow.

Can’t wait to see “Young at Heart.” I’m a senior citizen movie enthusiast. But I hear its one you got to see in theaters.

Are you kidding?! The Signal sucked! It started so promising and then just crashed, even God himself said what was that?!

I didn’t see this movie on the list but “Baby Mama” is hillarious! I mean, the storyline wasn’t new but if it wasn’t the childbirth instructor and her dialect it was Tina Fey (i think) —she was too funny! Gosh it was great to just laugh out loud!
