The best films of Angelina Jolie

In “Wanted,” opening Friday, Angelina Jolie plays a near superhuman assassin who runs atop moving trains, spreads herself across the hood of a speeding car to shoot multiple bullets at a chasing vehicle and uses her big, pouty lips to lay one on co-star James McAvoy.

Jolie is probably more known for being a celebrity (humanitarian efforts mixed with strange rituals with former husbands — like wearing vials of blood) than for the movies she made. I can count what I think are her most worthy film efforts on one hand.

Here is when she’s been the best on film or TV:

1. “Girl, Interrupted” (1999) — A riveting, Oscar-winning portrayal of a young woman beyond the verge of a nervous breakdown.

2. “Gia” (1998) — The HBO movie, the sad story of a model, that propelled her into the limelight.

3. “The Good Shepherd” (2006) — Audiences didn’t embrace the film, but Jolie co-starred with Matt Damon in Robert De Niro’s compelling CIA drama

4. “A Mighty Heart” (2007) — She played real-life French journalist Mariane Pearl in a drama about the kidnapping and murder of her husband, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

I am looking forward to seeing her in Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling” this fall.

What are your favorite Angelina Jolie movies?

Who cares what this white trash home wrecker pos does ..” Oh can I adopt a part Aztec and part Neanderthal baby for publicity before Madonna adopts one for herself? ” How about let’s not give any more press ink to the Brittney Spears, Paris Hilton, Angelina Jolie, Madonna pieces of human trash and let them all dry up blow away and die. Angelina, do a Gia and die.

To Who Cares and Eric - you wouldn’t know good acting if it hit you in your ignorant white trash faces. Judging an actor on his or her personal life has nothing whatsoever to do with their ability to entertain us on the screen. Angelina Jolie is a brilliant actress, a caring humanitarian, and q great mother. How many of you have been to Iraq, pregnant, to both cheer our troops and to call attention to the horrible refugee crisis in the area? Did you go to Turkey and help hand out supplies after the earthquake? Do you know any other actors that have asked the United Nations what they could do to help? Have you read her op eds? Obviously not or your comments would have been vastly different - morons.

People, the question was “What are your favorite Angelina Jolie movies?” not “Give us your opinion on Jolie’s private life”. In Girl Interrupted and Gia, her performances were amazing. She showed depth of character. I guess it’s easy to point a finger and call names when your lives are oh so perfect.

I would watch any movie that Angelina Jolie is in. She is an amazing talent and probably the most beautiful woman on the planet. Those of you casting aspersions against her are pathetic, miserable people. You’re probably “Christians” as well. My, your “savior” must be so proud. Is it any wonder so many people are leaving “Christianity” behind them? I know that I would never want to be associated with any group that is so vocal and in-your-face with their hatred and intolerance. Save your breath about me roasting in hell, it doesn’t exist except here on earth having to put up with people like you!

Sherry - Angelina was very close to her mother and was with her every day until she died from cancer. It was devasting for her. Her father left her mother when she was three - they have since reconciled and John Voight has met all his grandchildren and moving forward he will be a part of their lives. So - once again, the ill informed….

Maery, you are the type of idiot that encourages all the photographers to swarm around trainwrecks like Spears and Hilton, snapping pictures for fat bored people like yourslef to enjoy bcause you don’t have a real life. If Angelina were sincere she’d adopt a poor white kid from West Virginia but oh no….that won’t cause much publicity. She is a freak. She shouldn’t be allowed to be within 100 yards of a child. She doesn’t do anything if it’s not for publicity. What’s the point of wiping your butt if you are her and the camera not capture it. Again Maery, fyi…you can’t spell your own name…you dimwit… go to Walmart and instead of buying a tabloid newpapers and a 40oz. slurpee, get yourself a real life and do not depend on the freaks in Hollyweird to entertain your dumb worthless a**.

I do not like any of the films she is in. If she weren’t Jon Voigt’s daughter, she wouldn’t be nearly as famous as she’d want to be. She rode his coattails to get where she is and everyone knows it. Even though she can’t act, she’s stgill got a nice rack.

The jealousy is absolutely amazing. Do any of you actually “know” Angelina? More than likely, the answer is NO. I’d also bet if those dishing her were to look at their own lives, they’d see plenty of room for improvement. Bottom line, no one is perfect. Angelina has chosen her life and she lives. Many of you probably spend the majority of your lives being critical of others, especially those who are actually living their lives. And that is so sad. Quit judging and enjoy life to the fullest.

I am a huge fan of Angelina Jolie. To those who are hating…you have no idea of what was going thru the past marriage of Jen & Brad. It could have ending long before it went public. Besides, why are you juding someone for there personal life? I’m sure we are know of a marriage that ending and one or the other party found a new love quickly. Angelina’s life is just more publicized due to her career choice. Yes, acting is a choice just as being an accountant or bar tender.

All that aside, I knew she would be something great with her part in the movie Hackers. The Tomb Raiders series…love’em! To have a woman in the leading action role is fabulous! It shows we can kick some tail and still be sexy all in one :)
