DeAngelo Hall on SI’s best-dressed list

While benched Atlanta Falcon Michael Vick’s lawyers once again huddled in a Virginia courtroom Wednesday, there was actually positive news regarding one of the quarterback’s teammates.

DeAngelo Hall is being praised for his fashion sense. Sports Illustrated’s Web site is giving readers a chance to vote on the best-dressed player in the NFL. Hall is a nominee on the list, along with one-time Atlantan and Dallas Cowboy Terrell Owens (you may recall that the two players are so friendly that Owens was fined $35,000 by the NFL last season after the pair exchanged words and some bodily fluid when the Cowboys played the Falcons).

Also on the list: Tom Brady, Reggie Bush, Braylon Edwards, Dwight Freeney, Dhani Jones, Matt Leinart, Darren Sharper and LaDainian Tomlinson.

In the photo posted online, Hall is crisply dressed in a white shirt with French cuffs, a gray vest and matching tie. SI’s online editors were less generous, however, with the description posted with the image: “Thankfully, his wardrobe’s rarely as loud as his mouth. Memo to a self-absorbed Deion [Sanders] wannabe: Your 67 penalty yards in one drive? Let your play, and clothes, do the talking.”

And since Hall just may spend more time at the gym than Buzz, we hasten to repeat that those are Sports Illustrated’s words, not ours. To vote: sportsillustrated.cnn.com/.

Young Jeezy OK after accident

When fans scanned our online photo gallery of Young Jeezy’s store opening, they may have noticed an image of him with a bandage on his head. Well, it turns out that the day before the Atlanta rapper cut the ribbon on “Eight” on Auburn Avenue, he totaled his Lamborghini. “I have a new appreciation for life,” Jeezy told Hot-107.9’s “A Team Morning Show.” “I walked away from that with a scratch.”

Regular Guys update

A year has passed since 96rock fired the Regular Guys for taping and airing the Viva morning guys in the bathroom and neither Larry Wachs nor Eric Von Haessler have been able to find full-time radio employment. Meanwhile, Von Haessler is testing out a weekly “news jog” podcast (available on iTunes for free) with former 99Xer Jimmy Baron. And Wachs said he’s about to launch a satirical online-only news show called “What’s Your Story” on the Adult Swim Web video site.

Top-selling celebs

On the off chance you’re able to completely resist gazing at those salacious magazine covers while in line at the Publix, Forbes.com has graciously calculated which celebs generate the most attention. Former “Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston sits atop Forbes.com’s first-ever analysis of top-selling famous faces, based on several factors, including newsstand sales of celebrity weeklies People, Us Weekly, In Touch Weekly, Life & Style, OK! and Star over a six-month period ending June 30, as supplied by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The 38-year-old actress graced six covers — appearing on every magazine except In Touch Weekly at least once during the time period — with her face collectively selling more than 5 million copies.

Aniston’s ex-hubby, Brad Pitt, takes second place on the list, followed by Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Katie Holmes, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Valerie Bertinelli and Kelly Ripa.

Train wreck of the week Britney Spears isn’t on the list even though the 25-year-old pop star snagged 18 single covers during the six-month period. Spears’ face fails when it comes to sales, Forbes.com said, and she is only slightly more likable than Paris Hilton.

Consumers have grown tired of Spears’ consistently bad behavior, In Touch Weekly Editor in Chief Richard Spencer is quoted as saying.

“Usually there’s a roller coaster of emotions,” he says. “But unfortunately for Britney, there’s been no roller coaster lately — there’s just been the downhill.”

Also missing in action from the list: Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson.
