‘Real World: Sydney’ made Cohutta Lee party celeb
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Thanks to “Real World: Sydney,” which aired its finale this past week, good ol’ country boy Cohutta Lee is now a mini-celebrity among the MTV set. And he no longer has to do contracting full time.
Rather, party promoters pay him to show up and, well, party. (See him at Buckhead’s Peachtree Tavern at 10 p.m. on Jan. 26!)

He still does some hard labor because all that late-night carousing “makes me feel like a pile of goo,” he told Buzz.
Cohutta’s most memorable moment was when he had sex with roommate Kelly Anne Judd and the condom broke. He told her if she got pregnant, she’d have to move to Georgia. Then he uttered, “I’m the most fertile man in the world!” She wasn’t preggers, and he says now he has no proof of his own fertility since he has never fathered a child: “Sometimes, I just say things off the top of my head.”
Cohutta actually dated Kelly Anne for a few months after the taping was over but said wacky schedules led to their breakup a month ago. For now, he has no plans to move from Blue Ridge: “They can’t run me out of the mountains!”
Meanwhile, check out Atlanta actress Liz McGeever, who plays a high school bad girl named Liz on Saturday night’s Lifetime flick “Queen Sized” starring “Hairspray” actress Nikki Blonsky. While Blonsky’s character is supposed to be the plucky underdog, the film makes her so sullen and unpleasant, you might just end up rooting for McGeever’s character. This is the first big movie role for McGeever, a graduate of Meadowcreek High in Norcross and UGA. And though her character fits the “Mean Girls”/”Heathers” mode in the flick, McGeever said she was voted “most friendly” in high school.
OVERSCENE
A wide range of local notables from music performers (Tweet, Joi, DJs Don Cannon and StereOtype, music industry (Lisa McCall, Marvin McIntyre, Jerrell Allen and Malcolm Lee), music video (Randy Marshall of Fat Cats, Mia Butler of TBS’ “Movie & a Makeover”), fashion and beauty (Cedric King of Dap Rugged, Jilene Coggins of Envy, twins Sabrina Rowe and Sharlinda Rowe-Parker of Tu La 2 Nails) and marketing and event planning circles (I’na Saulsberry, LaToya Dixson, Nicole Johnson) — even a particularly prominent homeless advocate (Elizabeth Omilami) — all at Opera in Midtown this week for the unveiling of “Project Runway” finalist Mychael Knight’s lingerie collection. Since the full name of the line might not be appropriate for a family newspaper, let’s just refer to the sexy, clinging clothes as the invitation did: “K & D.”
TRIBUTE PLANNED FOR EVEREST CLIMBER
Sadly, the more than 200 attendees expected for “Synergize!” an inspirational conference for pastors and their wives at Mount Paran Church scheduled for Jan. 29-31, won’t get to hear one of the event’s most anticipated speakers. Sir Edmund Hillary, the first person to climb Mount Everest, was booked for the conference. Hillary passed away this week at age 88. Instead, “Synergize!” will pay tribute to Hillary on Jan. 30 during its “Visionary Leadership” program with remarks by Hillary’s son Peter and others. Other speakers booked for the multiday conference include Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy and the Orlando Magic senior vice president Pat Williams. For info: www.synergize.tv.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Me and Jay-Z bet on basketball games all the time. One time, I lost $15,000 to him. The next week backstage, he asked me, ‘Where’s my money?’ I handed him over a fat wad of Benjamins. He ended up spraying most of the bills at the audience.”
