1380 can always ramp up when its’ numbers and economics warrant it. As a local media prez. put it : “Buying size 10 shoes does not make a size 5 foot grow faster…” (spoken in love)

The reason why 1380 WAOK cannot get their signal amped up is because they have NO programming—as their 0.5 (ZERO POINT FIVE) share rating can attest. As V-103’s ratings continue to SLIDE, and their overhead (mostly salaries and corruption) continues to remain high, they not only can’t continue to fund WAOK (because Lord knows advertising dollars aren’t doing it), they cannot put a dime towards increasing the wattage of that station. They can’t even dream of raising their wattage until they raise their standards of the programming on that station. As I’ve said before, 100% civil-rights ALL DAY, EVERYDAY, is NOT going to generate enough revenue to sustain itself. They need to thank their Gods that they have V-103 receipts to cover for them. I do have a vision, however. As soon as all the lawsuits against Infinity Broadcasting are paid out, and the alleged corruption that Rick Caffey (GM-Infinity Atlanta) is confirmed, then you will see REAL “sweeping changes” at that station. Even if the alleged corruption is covered up successfully, the ratings slide alone plus the petition I’m going to facilitate very soon will be enough to get his sorry behind away from that station. It is crystal clear that Rick is at the center of controlling black thought by keeping them good and stupid, so they can continue to fund these corrupt churches and obsolete civil-rights organizations.

Hey Forum…

i don’t know if it’s cool to address the entire blog but, honestly, i never listened to 1380 but, after reading all of this over the last 2 weeks i felt compelled. you know it’s not that bad. i like the idea of more news in the morning but, maybe not with those two. loraine is ok. that rob guy is funny to me. coz gets the phone jumping, isn’t thatwhat he’s susposed do. but honestly the sports lady is the best over all of them. i’ve been listening every night and she has it. eveon over the stews and those are my boys. i wish she couldon be against them. i like 1380 dosen’t mean i agree with everything they say but i know i can call and voice my opinion.

That’s a very fair assessment, and you are definitely entitled to it. However, I have to respectfully disagree with most of your premise. I do agree that Rose Scott’s sports show is LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than anything ELSE (twice) on that station, however, the rest of those shows need to be placed in file 13 for real. The only other “personality” that could be retained would be Lorraine. She needs some SERIOUS training, however. I’m not going to put those suggestions out here anymore, because I’m not getting paid for this. My overall passion for talk radio compels me to comment so thoroughly on these issues. Civil rights ALL DAY EVERYDAY isn’t the answer, and THEY even know this. This is not a liberal vs. conservative issue—this is a QUALITY of programming issue.

Coz Carson (defender of a potential lawsuit, by the way) is not only awful, but he is GOD awful. He’s such a moron, he can’t help but get a call from the people equally moronic. When someone with at minimum partial knowledge on the issues calls into his show, he talks all over them, then hangs up on them before they get their point out. That’s what this stupid theme of “keep it movin” is all about. Keeping the callers that disagree “movin” OFF the air, while keeping the IDIOTS who agree with the obsolete civil rights mantra on the air for as long as they want. This is NOT good talk radio. If you like that crap, then may God bless you. However, enjoy it while it lasts, which won’t be long. How many 0.5 (ZERO POINT FIVE) hits do you think this station can take?

They could DOUBLE their listeners, and still only pull a 1.0 share. Do you NOT understand that? As soon as A.T. gets tired of that civil-rights ALL DAY EVERYDAY format, he will no longer be a listener, either. Why don’t you go back and find us some advertisers that advertise on that station (that is NOT intended to advertise on V-103)? Of course you will NOT be able to do it. Passing out flyers in the mailboxes of ONE apartment complex would be a more effective form of advertising than on WAOK. You, however, wouldn’t know that, because you are NOT intelligent enough. That’s the basic M.O. for a WAOK supporter, however.

If WAOK strengthened its signal, that would be a nightmare. That means even more ignorant, misinformed, conspirarcy theory believing clowns would be able to hear that station and want to call in to all of the shows. Call me crazy but listening to a caller ramble on for 5 minutes about how Black folks need to speak to each other when we pass each other on the street is not newsworthy, educational, or benefitting anyone. Yeah, I said it!

For two weeks now, you have said the same stuff over and over again. Maybe I can take off work and help you sell those 50 cent calendars you trying to sell for $5 out of the truck of your car so that you can keep your website up and pay your bills.

Well, everyone Dante is at it again—CONFIRMING his TOTAL STUPIDITY by endorsing WAOK as his #1 station. We can only hope that he does NOT have children. Considering his affection for Jay McGaughlin, probably not (unless he’s into the adoption stuff). On a more serious note, those with BRAINS know what the deal is. See Jarron’s comments—they tell the story. Unlike Dante, INTELLIGENT people can properly access a situation. The RATINGS tell the story in this industry. It’s too bad that those with as BRILLIANT a mind as Dante just can’t see that. I actually hope you do check WAOK out JaiLynn, because I urge you to see/hear for YOURSELF. Unlike those at WAOK, who seek to CONTROL your thought, I encourage you to THINK FOR YOURSELF. Let us know what you think about it. Oh yea, Dante, as soon as you have something “constructive” to push, then let us know that as well. You know, like your website, calendars, archived shows, and the like. I bet you haven’t even cut a hip hop demo, and that is truly a shame. You have NO room to talk about anyone.
