This from 99X morning host Fred Toucher’s own blog at www.fredtoucher.com (Sometime Monday, Toucher took this down for unknown reasons.)

Stop Preaching to the choir!!!!

If you are super p*ssed that Crash got fired do me a favor. Imagine if he was one of your best friends and few allies at yout job. It sucks way more for me than for you.

I actually think Crash will be back. I will be off the site for the weekend. Have fun!

I’ll be with Crash

Good things are going to happen. You will be happy. Trust me.

Oh God,please no more Crash. He is symbolic of everything that is wrong with radio in Atlanta, and nationwide, today. Soulless, crass, “talent” talking all over the little music they play (the same 100 songs over and over) Everyone in the programming side of the radio business should ask themselves why IPods, Sirius, and XM players are some of the most popular gifts this Christmas.

But no- Crash will be back on 99X soon, beacuse to them, even talking about how bad they are equals publicity.

Speaking of things we dont need,….does Atlanta really need a “Media Gossip Queen”?

I still think this smells like a great book promotion that doesnt require the station to spend any money to get a huge buzz.

If this was a promotion, it’s buzzing for the wrong reason is a costly one considering the conversation had on the air and the mentioning of the actual sponsor.

From the conversation had on the air, it seemed like normal talk for them. Other than Leslie being upset about the client’s disatisfaction, she didn’t try to hard to stop Crash for putting what happened out there.

What difference does it make that Crash got himself fired during the holidays? If he offended the owners of the club and the radio station and has a proven track record of inexcusable behavior with this employer, the time of year is beside the point.

I’m so sick of everyone - including, and perhaps more importantly - those who work with him for laughing off his blatant alcoholism, which is usually at the root of his offensive stunts. All you listeners who are so concerned about him - why don’t you offer support for getting him sober?

Not everyone is offended by his behavior, true, but if his employers are offended then it is at their discretion to fire him. Shame on Crash for his stunt but shame on the radio stations for continuing to re-hire him.

As of 2:09 PM today, December 5, Toucher’s comment that Rodney posted above appears to be gone from his website. Do you have any insight into this Rodney? RODNEY: Maybe his bosses told him to? Odd.

The fact that Toucher practically guarantees Crash’s return is the best evidence yet that this is a lame-a* radio stunt from a station whose ratings are in the toilet.

I find Crash’s firing ludicrous compared to the smut that Toucher & Co. spew daily. Why is it acceptable for the rest of the morning crew at 99X to encourage young women to display their body parts, sometimes for MONEY, so they can “rate” their desirability, yet Crash gets fired??? Seems to me he’s just keeping up with the high standards the rest of the morning jocks have set. Also, do we really need to hear about Fat Kid masturbating??? I think not. 99X, you need to get your hypocritical butt off your shoulders and rethink your entire morning show.

Glad to see radio is as full of crap as corporate america. I agree with Jill. Leslie (the hypocrite) can encourage disgusting things and it is ok. Crash does the same thing and he gets fired (and Leslie gets p**-WTF?). What bulls**t. Shouldn’t the “rules” apply to all and equally? And to the dimwit that wrote “nobody listens to a station for the traffic”. Yes, dork I do. If all the reports come from the same place then why don’t all stations report the same info?! I need ACCURATE info on wrecks not “travel times”.

The difference here is he did at a client’s place of business and not on the air. Michael Krohngold owns siome top establishments in Atlanta including some where 99x events have taken place. In case you don’t know or have zero business sense you do not offend or tick off the people who actually pay the bills. See the Phil Terrana auto dealership stunt on q100. Plus I am sure the decision went a little higher than Leslie. If she even made the decision it wasn’t without the higher ups input.

There something about this whole mess that just doesn’t sit right. A couple of weeks ago Crash did a “bit” on 99X talking about the fact that everyone was so disappointed that he has lost personna of the classic, depraved, lascivious, amoral, inebriated Crash and had become a Snugs-worshipping, sentimental, useless wussie. He spoke about how something was going to happen to rekindle the old Crash on December 9th and he couldn’t say anything because of legal reasons.

Now this “firing” has happened and tomorrow is the 9th. Think something is not what it appears? Let’s wait a day or three and see if this was all another radio stunt.

A hotel is not a business? My mistake, I will make a note. A hotel would love to known for gay rape set ups since many business people want that type of activity going on while they are guests. This must have been the first time Crash has ever been at a business hosting since everyone seems so upset and shocked. Did the client not know of 99X antics anyway? Hello as if this behavior is even new. Whatever. Some can do and it is ok, others get fired.
