7/6: Ryan Cameron one year later

Ryan Cameron.jpg It’s been one year since Ryan Cameron rejoined V-103 from Hot 107.9 — but took the afternoon gig. It means he doesn’t talk as much. Do folks think he’s better, worse, the same? Do you miss him doing mornings?

Also, morning producr for “Frank and Wanda” Arnie Epps is on sick leave, Ski told me. He wouldn’t say why or when Arnie will be back but he says he will be back. Sk goes on vacation next week.

I actually miss Ryan in the mornings. He was much funnier then. His afternoon show is ok, but it’s just not the same.

I like him alot better now. When he was with Hot 107.9 he was so rude, and down-right nasty to his co-workers and to callers. He seems to be a changed man. Whatever the reason for the change, I like it. Keep up the good work Ryan.

I love the show in the afternoon, and I love the “Ah Hell No” soundbyte they play, I also love the interaction with Ryan and Elle, and is it bad that I love it the way Elle says V-103? Ok ok I love Elle

I never did like Hot 107.9, I like Ryan better on V-103. What better line up than Frank & Wanda with Ms. Sophia. Then you get Ryan, he is real on the show, he dont hold back. Ryan & Elle are a great team. All they need now is a Ms. Sophia CONGRADULATIONS Ryan!!! Thanks for coming back to V-103!

Ryan Cameron, Arnie Epps,“Frank and Wandaâ€?, PD Reggie Rouse, Ms. Sophia, Elle - I’ve never heard of ANY of these people! Who are they? Their names sound like the cast of a Green Acres or Beverly Hillbillies episode.

When I first came to ATL in 94, Ryan was the man on V-103, loved him in the slot 6-10 weeknights. Did’nt listen to 107 when he was there, but I like him back on 103, and Sam, I love Elle too. Have you seen her? She is beautiful! Hopefully Ryan can take over morning from frank and wanda, they are horible!

Ryan WZUP? You da man, stay here at V-103. Love your show, since you left Hot 107.9, they have gotten so x-rated. Nothing for the kids to Listen to, here at V-103 Frank & Wanda cover it up and you have to figure it out. On your show you have that school bell. Buy Hot 107.9 one please. My best wishes go out to you man, keep us listning. within this one year you have had everybody that is somebody on your show already and they all have love for you. I ermember at the Jay-Z concert, all the rappers shouted you out and they all came and gave you dap.Do what you do, forget that other station!

I think Ryan is awful with the new show and format. He just doesn’t sound comfortable in his environment. Things often sound forced or contribed and in my opinion it’s just not good radio. The may flip through Ryan’s show for a minute or two between 2pm and 3pm…but after 3pm he has definitely loss out to the 2 Live Stews on 790am The Zone. Too bad he couldn’t keep the ego in check, because though it may have been shakey (understandibly) in the first few months, the A-Team has found their identity and moved on nicely. Sorry Ryan.

I like Ryan, bottom line, He is the best in the afternoon, he take us home in the afternoon…I don’t listen to the show in the morning anymore, I am glad that Ryan left 107.9 you could tell they were stressing him especially after Tawanna left..I do not like Frank, Wanda and Al..oops(Ms Sophia) in the morning why must you have a character like that in the mornings to make a show. Face it Ryan was kicking Franks’ butt in the morning and he could do it again if given the chance. I love the Ryan Report and Elle, she is just being herself and not kissing butt to be apart of the show. Keep up the good work Ryan. I cut my radio on at 10:00 to hear Osei sexy voice and I listen until your show ends. Frank, Ghetto gold tooth Wanda and Pathetic Al(oops Ms. Sophia) are the worst and a continued embarrassment to the entire urban morning shows that are on in Atlanta.

Speach, I agree. I think the ATeam is doing their thing at 107. I think Rashan really stepped up to the plate and took the show in a direction most didn’t think it could go. One monkey don’t stop no show. I’m forced to listen to 103 at work if I want to hear the music I like, but my heart is with the ATeam.

I’m sorry, but the A-Team sucks at time. I think it’s the fact that, Ryan’s show comes on in the afternoon. A time when most people are angry, upset, and getting off work When Ryan, was on 107.9 in the am, It was a Drug Rush!!! You could have been dump, shot, rob, or even killed the night before, but when you hear Ryan Cameron in the morning, your troubles are temporally forgotten

I miss Ryan from 6 to 10, the “A-Team” is horrible unless you’re a 14 to 20 year old, and Frank and Wanda got even worse by adding, “Ms. Sophia” (who looks like he/she needs to be playing linebacker for the Falcons), if V-103 wants to compete in the morning please bring Ryan back from 6 to 10.

I’m forced to listen to “The BertShow” until Ryan returns!

Thanks, Spader. I didn’t want to have to be the one to point out the obvious to JUCEEM, since he/she obviously doesn’t have very good reading comprehension skills or didn’t bother reading the intro. I’ve lived in Atlanta for 14 years and have never listened to V103 because I heard it was nothing but a bunch of racists. Judging by the post from JUCEEM, so are its listeners. I wasn’t being a hater. I was simply pointing out that all those radio names sound very hokey and country, which they do. POOF BE GONE JUCEEM and come back when you have an IQ of more than 10.

I would only like to voice what I have told my husband for years, morning radio has gotten so inappropriate that I tune it out completely. I know all the characters involved and my opinion is that there has to be something better out there!!! Our choices are limited to the foul mouthed to the down right ridiculous. I wish all of them individual success however I choose not to be apart of any of the morning shows. Congrats Ryan and I hope that you can return to the early 90 format that made you so popular in most of our memories!!

Ryan Cameron belongs at V-103, he was there when I was a little girl in the eveing playing all the latest hip hop music, and Elle is a wonderful addition she’s always nice and ready to party at the club. No matter what slot of time Ryan is placed in he does very well and I think doing the 2:00 p.m. show expresses his maturity in radio. The Father & Daughter Dance is great and the other things he has help to begin at 107.9, and other activities for charity are most appreciated.

Frank Ski & Wanda along with Ms. Sophia you can kindly back up off of them ALL. The Morning Show is great, informative and funny, not to mention the things that they do in the community. I know for sure most of the people on this blog are not doing the same or even coming close.

Furthermore, Rashan and Griff do a great job in the morning. Everybodys making money and giving back, I shutter to think if some of you would even do the same!

It sounds to me like their are some haters on the blog this morning.

I love Ryan in the afternoon. It took me a while to warm up to Elle but now they are a great team. Including Tangi they make me laugh every day. Ryan is GREAT! Frank and Wanda in the mornings used to be informative but now everything is a joke. They suck. The only reason I listen is because they are the only station I can get to listen to music. Like TOEPRO says I have to listen to the Bert Show.

Tonia, how can you know what the people on this do and are about? Do you know any of us? I’m sure that there are several people, including myself, who are involved in our communities, churches, etc. Don’t come on this blog talking about haters when you’re the only one hating. —->Tonia…what has Frank, Wanda and Al done for the community lately, don’t be so quick to call people haters it is a lot of people who do community service but get no city wide/statewide recognition. People who give back to their community b/c they want to not b/c it is a job requirement, tell me something the morning show has done that wasn’t broadcast on the radio or tv…..just what i thought NOTHING! Are you thinking about the children that listen to the radio and having to explain to them what or who Al(Ms. Sophia) is…I mean Wanda’s son calls him uncle Sophia…what are we allowing our kids to see…so no! we are not haters we are simply expressing our opinions…that is what blogs are for…of course this is just “my opinion” (o:

Why are all of Frank friends always in the news. He has “Player” Bill Campbell, Bobby “Blunt” Brown and “Baller Eddie Long. They say birds of a feather flock together. Is Wanda divorced? I noticed when her son went to UGA she was thanking all of the men who helped her with her son but she never said thank you to her husband. Frank always says the tired/overblown usual “I love my wife Tanya”. Frank definately needs Wanda/Ms. Sophia to boost his rating. He was on the show all alone and he was terrible.

The wonderful thing about everyone having an opinion is that it is just that, “an opinion!”. Regardless of what you may think, no matter where Ryan Cameron is, he is very talented and I have the utmost respect for his talent. I’m sure we have all had a day when Ryan said something on the radio at whatever station and it lifted your day! As far as the 107.9 comments, same thing! Rashan stepped up to the plate and showed us all that she could do more than just talk about sports! I’ll keep my opinion to myself about the V103 morning crew, with one exception. You all were WRONG for having all those kids say hey to a man acting like a woman the week of celebration for the kids!! You go to church so read Romans 1:32 and act like you know! Congratulations Ryan!

I love Ryan. I like him better on V-103, but I wished that he was on in the mornings, but the 2:00 slot gets me through to 5:00. I am really tired of Frank and Wanda. Wanda is not funny, she is very rude, never let Frank complete a sentence, and Ms. Sophia needs to realize that he is a MAN and not a women, which he seems to call HIMSELF….Keep doing what you are doing Ryan. Love ya.

I know that a lot of us listen or support these radio personalities out of shear brother/sisterhood but when you hear someone say that they don’t let there children listen to the radio station that they promote to us as a “people station”, that says a lot to me. We have to wake up a really look at the messages that we are sending to our kids and to the “community” that we want to empower. I don’t know about anyone else out here but I listen to music for entertainment and hosts for information and the occasional joke or traffic report. I don’t want to hear an entire show about how men and women treat each other or who’s better in bed. There are talk shows for that kind of stuff and my morning commute and during the time that my kids are listening to the “school spirit shout out” is not the time for it!!!!!

When in the mood for something different, check out the 2 LIVE STEWS on am 790 The Zone, from 3pm to 7pm. The show is characterized as Sports Talk With Hot Sauce. It’s a one of a kind show. These brother’s are pioneers in their industry and the show is soooooooo much more than sports. It’s really a fun show. The saying is ” If You Ain’t Stewing…then What the Hell Are You Doing”. Congratulations Doug and Ryan Stewart! Oh and they are Sindicated!

What is the problem here? This is supposed to be an opinion on Ryans return, why are there blog arguments? how this turn into Frank & Wanda? Why is everyone so angry? Lets put all that aside and wish Ryan well. Wer love V-103 & Ryan. Its not about what Frank & Wanda do and not do for the community because what ever it is, its more than any of us do? Who else on this blog has a kids week? who else is helping people find places to live with rent paid up for a year? none of us on here? so lets wish all them well and give them thanks for doing things in the community we cant do.

I love Ryan on his show. When he was with the other station I listened to him and when he moved back to v-103 I moved also.So I guess you can say I am a big fan.Cause wherever he goes I go.I tried to continue listening to Griff and Rashann but I couldn’t. They need a lots, lots, and lots of help.Their whole show is terrible and Griff and C.J. always seems to be saying something negative about someone.I really feel for Rashann she is stuck over there with those 2 dimwits and Griff stupid Ass VOICE.But enough about them.Ryan you made the right move. You are the KING and I guarantee you that 107.9 people see the mistake they made not paying you.GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Ryan is just not funny. He tries to hard to be funny. On Hot 107.9 he was rude and nasty and wanted respect that he didn’t deserve. He was too cocky. I’m sure that’s the reason they didn’t want to pay him what he thought he was worth. Now he has to climb his way back up all over again.

I really am embarrassed by what is put across as “Black” radio in Atlanta. V103’s morning show hasnt been the same since Tara Thomas went behind the scenes. To me it is very contradictary to have an openly “he/she” as a major part of your show, (Sophia) listen to Frank in one sentence party like a rock/rap star with very morally (drugs/sex/violence) questionable people and then hit us with an “inspirational vitamin” like that’s a cure for the 4 hours of garbage we have been fed. Before all you people who love to label people as haters start to respond, just take a moment and evaluate the show.

I’d keep a Cd in rotation. I can’t somach the sound of SOMEONE in particulars voice on there.. Y’ALL KNOW WHO..;) ANd then I dont like the way that SOMEONE dogs Beyonce on there ( on air Beyonce) She was there from the Tawana James days… an was a nice girl. But this other one acts as if it is a takeover. negating the fact that Ryan gave a opportunity that a lot of ppl would have LOVED to had.Be humble, be thankful. then you’ll have the kind of fan base Ryan has. ANd ELLE.. Like her too. its a nice combo… LOLA-KICKROCKS!! Speach- that was all good. But this is not about the 2 Stews right now. They ARE doin some good things, but these blogs always tend to go astray. In a minute someone is gonna throw in the B word.. and personally I am tyyyyyyed of him. leave his crusty behind in the political blogs. RYAN RYAN.. even the 107.9 events arent the same with out RC. Congrats on Ryan’s one year anniversary. I couldn’t get with the show at first now I try to rush to the car to hear the Ryan report and the overall show. I wish he would have been on the air during the whole Star Jones “situation”. I enjoy Elle also. She is one of the few people who remember traffic going into Henry County.

I feel most, Ms. Sophia or whoever gets on my nerves. I don’t like that character at all. Also, Ryan please don’t go on vacation again if so find a better replacement than Greg Street, he makes my head hurt.

After Ryan’s departure I continued to listen for a couple of months but as time went on I changed to V103. I think Rashan is a doll however the show didn’t grab my attention as it once did. I think it’s targeted more for a younger audience. I enjoy listening to Ryan’s show as well as the morning show. Next time before you fire back, get your facts straight. Because I have an opinion doesn’t mean I don’t participate. Why don’t you ask the family whose Habitat house I helped build what they think. Wow. I simply asked who these people were and I’m labeled a hater, ignorant, told to go where I fit in, etc. I thought I’d jump on to see if I were missing something by not listening to V103, since I’ve seen it advertised as “the Peoples’ Station”. Well, I’m a person, so that would include me too, right? Wrong, according to many on this post. Excuse me for not knowing who these people were, since I’ve never listened, but I do appreciate getting a good idea of what kind of people do listen and what crowd the station caters to. It saved me the trouble of tuning in. If I want to hear that kind of racist bigotry I’ll just turn on Cynthia McKinney.

Also please elaborate on the RACIST BIGOTRY you claim to have endured…. YOU are turning it into a racial issue when not one person on here has menitoned anything that wleads to racisim. I am still as others just curious as to WHY you are still here? If you are not a supporter, you are crying racism, berating the names that the vee-jays have… and insulting the listeners..what is your purpose? Maybe I’ve missed something, help me understand, because CLEARLY all of the piece of your puzzle dont fit.

Let’s when the No 1. Stunna was the @2 Live Stews she almost came off as a sista without soul. Her lily white upbringing was quite obvious. Now I have only heard once since she joined Ryan but she sounded like she took some classses in ebonics. Where did that street pronunciation come from. You sold your soul sista. And I’m gone. Alright, alright, Alright.

RyanStew,

As a black female I am tired of black people that talk intelligently being called “lilly white”. I listened to her on the stews show and remember her talking about her grandfather being a tuskeegee airman - oh but you’re right - lilly white upbringing!

OK maybe I shouldn’t have referred to her as lilly white but when compared to how she speaks on the that other Ryan’s show it’s quite dramatic. Listening to both she sounded natural on the Stews. At times almost Valley Girlish or quite suburban. On that other Ryan’s show she sounds forced and trying to stress more of an urban dialect.

Understand - but also understand that radio is entertainment just like TV. I’ve listened to 790 for years and 90% of the stories they tell on that and any station is bull. It is made up and so are their on-air personas. And I guarantee that I talk different at work than I do at a party playing bid! Not selling out - just a different comfort level. She was an intern at 790 and didn’t have the luxury of being one of the Stews - the rest of that station is…well talk about lily white!

I agree chidog! I have been following Elle’s career since she first started at the Stews, she has and still does talk exaactly the same! People have been trashing Elle since the Stews for the way she talks and she still hasn’t changed. If thats not keeping it real I don’t know what is. I had an opportunity to meet her a couple times and I can honestly say she is down to earth and very personable. I think she just takes time to grow on people, but remember people she is 22 years old and working with Ryan Cameron, give her props atleast for that. Stop the hate ATL!

I really like Ryan on V-103. I really like hime this week since he is taking Frank Ski’s place since he is still on vacation. He can stay on vacation if you ask me. I really like the chemistry between Ms. Sophia and Ryan. By the way, for all the Ms Sophia haters, she knows she is a man!!
