It is hard for me to take this lady serious. She appears to be an opportunist. I grew up in an abusive household, counseled and represented sseveral abuse victims and this lady’s story just does not rise to a level of concern. Most abusers do what they do to instill fear and control of their mate. I just do not see that here. Ms. Bynum just seems to be an opportunist. I have a personal problem with persons who proclaim to be a messenger from the almighty, but exploits commercialized media outlets to build their empire. All in the name of financial reward. I would like to know Mr. Bynum’s side of the story. It appears that this was just a heated confrontation by both parties that went to far. I wish that the media with stop covering this story. It makes me sick.

It’s not about “Juanita” nor the Bishop for that matter… The deeper issue is just people, “church folk,” and relationships. Bottom line - they go awry. They get messy… no matter who you are, what you do, and how much faith you have.

And, it’s about the belief that so many in the Body of Christ and in our culture have succumbed to, mainly, that one’s Private life does not somehow affect one’s Public life. The fact of the matter is that it does. What we do which we believe no one knows or sees can and will come out at the most inopportune time. Fortunately for most of us in the Church, our “Private life” is not on “Public display.” If it were, God only knows what kind of criticisms we would be receiving and expected to respond to…

No need for me to throw stones… I, too, live in a glass house… my house is just not flashed across the front page or on T.V….

I totally agree with Rachel about the Mac/weave. Get a gripe Love, you don’t think all of this being played out in the media isn’t a sin(mo money, mo money by default). Couples get divorce everyday. Why is she keeping it in the media. Now striking a woman is wrong, but what about the next door neighbor who doesn’t wear Mac makeup and $500 weave. She doesn’t get the media attention (lack of funds)until she is dead from the abuse. The media needs to focus more or domestic abuse on the next door neighbors more, and trust me Ms. Bynum is not looking out for them unless it is carrying her to the BANK.

Step 1 - Plan and carry out an “attack” in a public place with enough security around to break it up and make sure it gets full media attention (Done) Step 2 - A well covered follow-up by the media of hubby’s arrest and pitiful sympathy-invoking attention to my horrible wounds and recovery while laying some groundwork for an eventual reconciliation [see Step 6] (Done) Step 3 - Self-proclaim myself the “face of domestic violence” (Done) Step 4 - Do the media tour to drum up all the $$$ that are out there (In progress now) Step 5 - Continue to milk any additional $$$ from any book or made for TV movies or documentaries we can sell (Probably in progress behind the scene) Step 6 - Announce a sudden and very emotional message from the Lord to forgive and reconcile with hubby (Future date of announcement to coincide with one of hubby’s court dates) Step 7 - Count bles..ugh, I mean money and begin construction of OUR (the self-proclaimed bishop and me)larger-than-Oprah mansion while continuing to milk the remaining dregs from Chapters 1 - 6 being careful to invoke the blessedness of The Holy One for His forgiveness, and all the while asking the blind followers for continued financial support to promote God’s kingdom on earth. (And the rain that day is formed by the tears of the angels of Heaven weeping for their fallen sister)

This is not the way the people of God are to display themselves. Ms. Bynum is implicating her husband as an Abuser, noting that if this is not an isolated case, she was silent and subjected herself to this treatment while standing before God’s people teaching and preaching the Gospel. If Ms Bynum was a victim, this would have been more evident prior to this unfortunate incident in Atlanta. This should be the reconciliation period between husband and wife, the bible does not speak of staying in an abusive situation, nevertheless, going on the talk show circuit to seek attention to a matter that appears to have been an isolated matter the steps would be some sort of counseling to rectify this matter between man and wife. I see no signs of reconciliation and Ms Bynum does not appear to be a battered wife. No the facts are not all in, this is my point exactly, why is Ms Bynum using the “whoa is me card” when this is a matter that the church has been facing for decades? What has Ms Bynum been teaching women all of these years? I feel if this man is a batterer, this should never have come to this, a public spectacle to mock the Gospel that is being preached. What are the true motives for dragging this thing in the media spotlight over and over again? There is a hidden agenda, but Domestic Violence is not the clear motivation. Let’s all follow the money.

I didn’t know that Prophetess Bynum had so many people with so much jealousy, envy, and strife against her. All of which God is displeased with. You see her on t.v. and at church, but you don’t KNOW her. She has to stand before God just like we all do, and if there is anything God is not pleased with…GOD WILL BE THE JUDGE!! If Oprah gets beat up by Stedman tonight, do you not think it won’t be all over the news?!! Will she be making a play for money as well? Prophetess Bynum if you are reading this, please know that if the whole world turned against you, the work you’ve done is not in vain! I would still be the one person thanking God for you. Your testimony of being in a straight jacket in the mental institute and having God reveal your ministry at your lowest point, has kept me faithful many days telling God if you did it for Juanita Bynum, and you are no respect of persons..then surely you can deliver me! I just went thru a divorce in July from a man of God. Divorce can make the holiest of people seem like they never knew God. Please stay encouraged. Stay in the forefront. Be the Woman that GOD called you to be! In case you all didn’t know..she is human and will bleed if she gets cut, just like the rest of us women. She is not above the trials of this world. Actually there have been guest DJ’s in for Sonja Hamm all week. The media chose to publicize her appearance not Juanita Bynum. There have been different celebrity status DJ’s since Sunday night. Juanita Bynum will be at the Yolanda Adams morning show just like me and many others so that has nothing to do with. Yolanda Adams will be broadcasting with or without Juanita Bynum. People are so absorbed with Juanita and what she’s going to gain from this situation than they are anything else. Many times ministers are going through a lot of the things they are preaching about. God is dealing with them on those same issues as he is dealing with us through them. She’s just a vessel being used by God. I could care less how much she profits from it. I am refreshed everytime I hear her music or read a book or hear a sermon and this happens because I look to Jesus to work in and through me through her. Juanita Bynum is as important as God will allow her to be. Don’t let her situation cause you to have a judgmental heart. God wouldn’t be pleased and that is what this is all about right? Who worships Juanita? Not I. I worship God. I acknowledge her obedience to his word but I only praise and worship God. Juanita Bynum is not God in my life. She’s not pimping me because I can’t be pimped

You should be careful what you say about the woman of God because in the bible it says touch not my anointed ones do my prophets not harm. I don’t think any of us will achieve Juanita Bynum status; so to say “don’t have an opinion,” is absurd. She’s giving the media fuel to keep the gossip flames burning. The more you stir up mess, the more it stinks. The mature thing to do is allow herself to cool-off and take a deep look at where she’s at. To me she’s knee jerking and all these appearances are fleshly and pride-driven. She did say that she didn’t want to appear as a damsel in distress (has undertones of pride). I don’t doubt that she’s called and has an awesome anointing; but Juanita has changed. I truly believe that she and Bishop Weeks were tested and they failed. More than point the finger, I’m taking this as a lesson that waiting on God and watching my own tongue can save me a lot of hardship in the long-run. But this media circus has got to stop. Did anyone see Bishop Weeks’ news conference? He was quite convincing to me. The man was a hired puppet for Bynum from the million dollar look what I got wedding to the 2.5 million dollar lease purchase mansion in Duluth. The woman held a conference called women on the front line in Orlando in early August and dissed her husband asked him to leave, and that’s not Godly, so God put her and her mess on the Front Line of every Front page newspaper, and outlet. Let’s not forget God knows everything, He will not let anywone scandalize His Name! No she is not a victim of Domestic Violence. She was scheming to get her media done by meeting Weeks at the hotel. I knew that was a lie when the statement came out that they were at the hotel to reconcile. She told the world she bought the booth at Starbucks she and weeks had their first meeting and installed it in their kitchen so whenever they had a disagreement they would sit there and work it out, not at a hotel? She is telling big lies to cover herself. All liars have their place in the lake of fire! She needs to sit down and repent. Her Destiny is not the case here Her life as she lives it needs to be consecrated and cleansed of all unrighteousness.

Learn about her. Move away from this petty talk about her, and let her live her life. She’s not asking for your support. The entire body of Christ is suffering for the mistakes of a few. This event, along with others saddens my heart. I can’t help but to wonder how God feels about all of this.

People don’t want to come to God as it is. People have excuses for paying their tithes, serving God and attending Church, and then we add to their excuses by acting ungodly in front of the world. We are supposed to be spreading the gospel, compelling men and women to come to Christ because it’s better on the other side. How can we compel or influence the world when we’re caught up in fame, fortune, sex, lies, divorce, and abuse, to name a few. How can we lead them to the light when somewhere along the path, we got lost. People are not reading their bibles; they are reading us through our lifestyles. Have we forgotten that we represent God? Have we forgotten that we are the children called by His name?

I don’t want to condemn anyone because judgment is reserved for God. We’re all going to have our day in front of Him. This is not about Bynum or Weeks, this is about our personal relationship with God. We as the body of Christ have to stand together and let the world know that God isn’t a part of confusion or mess. Jehovah is a God of order.

Since God has allowed this public abuse, we true believers have to trust that God’s glory shall prevail.

People need to stop wasting their time bad mouthing Juanita Bynum on these message boards. She probably doesn’t read them anyway. Moreover, she probably will continue to make money no matter what people say about her. She obviously has found her nitch to make herself rich, therefore don’t hate the player, hate the game. If you don’t like her preaching, or if you think she is a fake, then don’t listen to her. Either way it goes, she will still propsper if that is what is supposed to happen in her life no matter how people talk badly about her. I also am starting to feel that she provoked her husband to hit her with her fiesty demeanor she has. Nevertheless, he shouldn’t have beat her up because as a man, he has the advantage because a man is stronger physically.

No one knows what has gone on in their marriage. However, the way she has carried on since their incident, is nothing more than a play for media attention. I do not condone nor advocate violence in a Godly marriage. Having said that, I am submissive to my husband. The Lord has given this directive to His female children. Being submissive to a man of God does not mean I have to put up with any crap. It means that I recognize him as the head of our home and the spiritual leader of our family. It means I do not villify him, or castrate him with my words or actions. I build him up so that he can do the same for me. A Godly marriage is not without problems. The devil has no agenda with people who are on the wrong track. He wants the ones that really matter. He wants the ones God has claimed. I have no knowledge as to the hearts of these two people. But I have a funny feeling that Juanita has a history of provoking and tearing down men. A man is only human and will push back eventually. I certainly think he messed up, but I fear she may have had the bigger part to play. Still, an abusive tale carries weight. Perhaps if Juanita spent more time working on a Godly union with her husband and less time being a self-proclaimed “prophet”, she would find herself in a less controversial position. Then again, maybe that is what she wants. Being submissive and obedient does not mean being a doormat Ms. Bynum. But it does mean you are a woman of God.

How we have turned a tradgic event into a sitcom. comment after comment after comment. the truth in the matter is that we all need to stop with the commenting. I myself have been gulity of it also. We need to take a look at selves and realize God not pleased with what we have been saying. We went from lets pray for them to judging them. lets note: one thing as I have been been all of the comments posted I can say that there is some truth in the matter. Yes I believe that she should take a different approach to being an advocate for Domestic Violence. I myself have knowledge of that scenerio and it can be the most devasting thing anyone or any woman can go through. Victims needs support, escape oh how to get away without being harmed, access to ways of changing locations and never to be harmed again etc. Those things and then some is what you call being an advocate. I know we can say some mean things, but note this God hear, knows, in control, he’s the judge and he will get the GLORY IN THE END anyway! So we need to squash those comments and go back to praying for them with a sincere heart, they both need God’s help. If you are still upset when the book comes out don’t buy it, when the conferences come to town don’t go and when they have any other events don’t participate, and all else would be just fine. In Jesus name Amen! LET IT GO AND START BACK PRAYING FOR HIM AND HER, When are all under the mercy of God. When God put his foot we all are going to know it. LET’S PRAY!!

I’m usually very sympathetic towards victims of domestic violence, but for once I don’t feel that this is the case. For one thing the real face of domestic violence is that of Carolyn Thomas, the woman who lost the majority of her face after being shot by her boyfriend at close range with a .44 caliber handgun.
It appears that this is being done for monetary reasons and that’s all. Would some of the real victims of domestic violence please stand up because this individual truly needs to sit down.

Why do you people seem to think that this is a publicity stunt? Before the incident, most of you have forgotten, she was already famous. She don’t the media to promote an agenda. The media already followed her before all of this happened. She was already rich before she married. Why are all of you making statements saying she is calling the media to get on tv and radio? Could it be that they called her to be on their show? She’s never had to solicit a spot on the show. Just like her movie, they called her. Star Jones, GMA, Tom Joyner, they called her not the other way around. Again, get your facts straight before making ludicrous comments. She has a right to come forward about her ordeal all she wants. And for all of you that said Bishop Weeks did not do anything and he walked away.
