8/28: Hot 107.9 dropping the A Team, possibly replaced by Rickey Smiley

I just heard that Hot 107.9 today got rid of the morning show, the A Team, consisting of Rashan Ali, Griff, Beyonce, Akini and Emperor Searcy. (From two sources, I hear Rashan will do mid-days and Searcy will go back to late afternoons, but I’m not sure what happens to Beyonce and Akini. Griff’s publicist confirmed that he is out.)
UPDATE: The Web site was updated in the evening to show Beyonce still having a shift on the weekends. That bodes well for her. And Mizz Shyneka and Durrty Boyz seem fine for now. But no sign of E4Real. Temporarily, it appears Rashan and Searcy will do the mornings without Griff for now.
Here’s Griff’s official statement: “The last 3 years and 6 months at Radio One have been a life changing experience. I thank my spiritual Father for the friends that I’ve met and worked with because I’ve learned so much and have grown as a person here in Atlanta. I’m excited about my future, I have a strong team of people helping to take me to new heights, and I will continue to make people laugh all over Atlanta at events and comedy clubs, while serving the community through my foundation, Positive Vibes. When I got home today, I read a book that said: ‘On this day the will of God is done in my life.’ That was all the closure I needed.”
Hot is expected to replace them with a syndicated show led by Rickey Smiley, the comic who was just in town at the Civic Center on Saturday. Ironically, I interviewed him a few days back and joked with him about entering the Atlanta market. At the time, he said he felt he had enough of a following to take on Steve Harvey and Tom Joyner here. He didn’t betray any sense he knew this was coming but maybe he did.
Smiley is in 20 markets including Dallas and Miami with a big push earlier this year. And if you like prank calls on the Morning Mess, just wait til Smiley comes in. He loves them!
Maria More, the mid-day host for six months, said she was let go but couldn’t comment further. The person who answered the phone at Hot 107.9 said he couldn’t talk about it either. I left a message with the Hot boss Bruce Demps, who was in a meeting. I also haven’t reached Steve Hegwood, the operations manager. I left voicemail messages with Rashan, Griff, Akini and Searcy but no answers back.
The station, ratings wise, seems to be doing fine, finishing regularly top 3 among 18 to 34 year olds. But revenues in radio (as well as other media) have been dropping sharply this year and perhaps Radio One, the station owners, is looking to cut budget. It doesn’t hurt that Radio One’s syndication arm just happens to own the Rickey Smiley show. That fact alone actually has fueled rumors over the past year that the A Team would be replaced but given the A team’s performance and its local bent, nobody quite believed Radio One would pull the trigger.
Hot doesn’t beat V-103 but has been a solid No. 2 or 3 among younger listeners. It managed to survive the loss of Ryan Cameron in late 2004 although the A Team, while solid, has never achieved his best ratings.
Ultimately, syndication is almost always cheaper than a local show. And Steve Harvey and Tom Joyner have proved that the African-American audience is willing to take a national show. (The rock crowd has been tougher. Witness the local demise of Bob & Tom, the Greaseman and the like.)

I hate to say it but I think it was time. That show was starting to be really juvenille. That hot day rhyme they did everyday was the absolute worst. Now if we could just get rid of Frank Ski.

Yeah since Ryan left 107.9 things have not been the same in the morning…..Griff is anoying, and lame, Emperor Searcy jut does not fit in, in the morning…the only one I like is RASHAN……in these hard times I hope that hey all find work to support there families…..

I hate that this happened..sort of. Griff is the worse! I’d stopped listening to him and forced myself to deal with the shemale on V103 just to escape. I do hope that they all find jobs. I especially hope Griff finds one that doesnt involve giving his opinion or speaking to the public! Man he got on my nerves…

I’m sorry this happen but not surprised, everything is changing on radio and newspapers. I however wish the whole team success, they are all VERY, VERY talent. I worked with the orginal Ryan Cameron Show for a year right before they “got rid of” Twana. Rashan and CJ were a great addition, they are very talent, and Beyonce and Akini are some great producers and I have no doubt that they will find something else.

While I admit frank and wanda can be a bit much sometimes, I can not stand Ms. Sophia. I don’t understand while we have to promote a drag queen on morning radio. And now they tape the morning show and put the damm thing on tv. what an assault on the eyes.

OMG! I had no idea the A Team was getting cancelled. I really enjoy listening to them as I’m getting ready for work, sitting in rush hour traffic. I’m really saddened by this news. I know things haven’t been the same since the Ryan King left, and I know they got off to a rocky start to find themselves, but I felt like they did a great follow up job and I am truly going to miss my A Team Morning show. I love Griff’s voice, I love Rashaan’s corporate/ghetto ways, she really knows how to turn it on and off. I love it!!! Man, I hate to see them break up. I knew something was up when “phone tap” wasn’t on anymore. Damn!

The truth is that it was not a very good morning show. Although I feel that multiple radio personalities on one show can create a really interesting conversation and be great for the listening ears, this was not the case for this morning show. I do not want anyone to lose their jobs. However, it was not a good fit nor was it a great representation of Atlanta. These characters were truly comical misfits but far from Fat Albert & the Gang. The question is will Ricky Smiley be any better? I am not sure but what I do know is that he was incredibly funny when he was in Birmingham 95.7 in the late 90’s. But he has changed significantly. I am not hating but Ricky was so natural in his behavior and conversation earlier in his career. And for that he was really funny. But now it seems that he has abandon his “true” self to adapt to “Hollywood.” I understand that it is about sustainability. I just wish that he will bring it back. Best wishes for the A-Team. And may they succeed in other endeavors.

I hate to hear that anyone has lost their job but I couldn’t stand the A-team anyway. Griff was very annoying and a big know it all. Rashann couldn’t decide if she was ghetto or high class, and Searcy just didn’t fit!! Now if we could just get rid of Frank Ski, because all he does is name drop for the 4 hours he’s on the air!!!

I agree with most that Griff’s voice was absolutely terrible, but now that this day has come I hope that they are all able to recover. Now before this turns into an anti V-103 blog, save it, especially about Sophia. If you people really were not listening to the morning show they would not have the consistent ratings that they have and a lot of that is due to Sophia. Atlanta is a diverse city and thanks to V-103 and Sophia, Gay listeners now have a voice. Relax, its only Radio.

Reading this just lets me know that there is a God and he does answer prayer!! The 107.9 show is horrible!! Rashan Ali is somewhat intelligent but the other hosts need to find other tasks to occupy their time. They talk about nothing of importance to the community and it is a waste of air space. I am glad someone finally tuned in to what was going on and pulled the plug!

I barely was able to listen to 107.9 before Ryan left but after he left I took the station off my preset list in my car. V103 is not much better and other than the strawberry letter I don’t care for Steve Harvey either. Thankfully I have an ipod that I can plug into my car radio so I’m straight.

I actually liked this morning show. I, too, am from Dallas, and Rickey Smiley is a hot mess. I never could get into his show. Frank and Wanda are cool, but the “Inspirational Vitamin” is a bit much for me. Not to sound judgmental, but I don’t want to get inspiration from someone who kicks it in the club all weekend, and then talks about what Jesus would do during the weekdays. It just seems like a conflict of interest. Ms. Sophia is too much. Guess I’ll be listening to my IPod on the way in to work in the mornings from now on. Good luck to The A Team!

The A team was terrible. Rashan was only good with Ryan. When Ryan left the station it went from 10 to 0. They should have paid Ryan whatever he wanted to keep him. For those talking about getting rid of Frank & Wanda you can forget it. Maybe replace Porcha with Rashan Ali and V103 will be the bomb show from Top til bottom. No weak links.

Call me crazy, but I LOVE Griff’s voice. He has a voice like no one I have ever heard. I’m surprised at the comments about them not having anything intelligent to talk about. They do a lot for our community as well as the kids. I think Teen Talk Thursday’s was a gread addition to the show. As a mother, I got to see the other side of things from a child’s point of view.

Praise His Holy Name! (Picture me catching the Holy Ghost). Now that that foolishness is off of the air, I give Frank & Wanda 1 more year before their madness will have to give way to real intelligent radio personalities.
Then maybe we can petition M.Baisden to cut his foolishness and just do a full show without the moments of “butt naked ice skating” or whatever he talks about. With his following, he could really make a difference year round and not just when something happens in our community or when there is an election year. Ballentine needs to stop patting himself on the back and get over himself, and get back into the courtroom. Man, who do you like dude?…Sharpton is good, can’t get anyone else down here. Smiley is going to be a tragedy.

I hope they all are able to recover and find other jobs but thank goodness. I concur with the majority of the responders and hopefully V103 will clean up too. The fact that they got a TV show is ridiculous. My people are really dumbing down…so embarassing.
I Recently cut back on my expenses and cut XM and there was a moment when my IPod was on the fritz and I listed to this riff raff. Couldn’t stand it…got a new IPod and I’m all good!

Doug and Dede should replace Michael Baisden on 102.5. The A Team was nothing more than a H.A.M. Rashaan talked over folks to get her point across Searcy should have never left afternoons and Griff shoulda stayed off air. They have sorta already updated their website. I stopped listening to 107.9 when Ryan left the show..I could not stand Griff’s voice nor could I deal with Rashan with no Ryan there to keep her in check. I like Searcy but not in the morning..He should go back to afternoons and get his old job back because E4real is horrible as well. But I wish them luck. Now if we could get RYAN back on in the mornings on V103 and get rid of Frank and Wanda’s(illiterate behind) we would be doing good. Steve Harvey was ok at first… but I cant take him or Tom Joyner. Ricky is funny but I dont think I could take him everyday!!! Hopefully it will work out.

Oh happy day, that show was the worst! I don’t know about Ricky Smiley, but I think Russ Parr’s nationally syndicated show would have been a better fit. I lived in the DC area for a while, and his show is much funnier than anything I’ve ever heard down here. His parodies are hilarious!

Wow,wow… HATERS AT THEIR WORST!!! Ok I do agree Griff voice is the worst voice. I will get over him not being there, but I wish him and his family all the best Searcy is a misfits.The turn table is truly his home. He is a little slow at times on some of the topics.Rashan Ali I like her allot. She held her own with or without Ryan. Akini I thought came up in the ranks as well. I think they all got the big head about who they were and did not stay as objective about life. I do feel for them all becaused they seem like they became a family. They Team had a lot to over come and they did it. What I like they did it in their own way. As for V-103. I love Ryan, but he has his moments also. Now Frank Ski, Wanda and the IT! I can stand to hear them at all. Sophie is horrible talking and to look at. She and Griff run a hella tight race in my Oh, Hell No catagory!!! I think it sucks how the Radio station did them All. Never trust the employer those days are loyalty are out the window.

I’m surprised that this took so long, both stations were truly the reason that I began listening to sports talk radio on a regular basis. Having an arena (radio) in which the African American voice could be heard and to not take advantage of it because we are too busy “free-styling, prank calling and partaking in self promotion will be the reason that the ones to follow will soon experience the same fate. Radio is a tool my people, use it wisely.

Rashaun is the only one with a degree and she is staying. When you get a position that you are not qualified for, go get qualified. Searcy is a DJ, he is meant for radio. The others have no skills that qualifies them for radio. Go get your degree or some training that will allow you to contribute to the show more than just your opinion on subjects.

I am a 31 year old male and I listened to them EVERY morning because they could identify with me being my age. I don’t want to listen to some dude from Dallas! I want to listen to LOCAL people. This bombed before when they tried to bring that dude from Virginia who they tried to replace Ryan with. This will BOMB too. I guess I will just invest in satellite radio and listen to the foxhole morning show or just have road rage. Radio 1 needs to take their stupid behinds out of Atlanta!

I wish Radio One would’ve taken this opportunity to put some intelligent, oommunity oriented programming in this time slot. I do feel bad for the A-Team but it was way too much shucking and jiving. I’m not saying turn into a talk show but dang, it’s more issues in the black community besides baby mama and baby daddy drama. I flip from station to station and I was disappointed that the morning show never played any of the speeches from the DNC this week. There is a lot of major events that have a direct effect on their listening audience and quite frankly with the exception of Rashan, the morning show hosts weren’t equipped to talk intelligently about any topics affecting their audience. At least on V-103 there is an opportunity to discuss major issues. Not a Frank Ski fan but he is versatile enough to talk hip hop and politics. Hot needs to stop the shucking and jiving. I guess Rick Smiley is just going to reduce the expenses of the shucking and jiving. I’m out.

I haven’t listened to 107.9 since Ryan left. I cannot stand Wanda’s voice and inability to speak the English language. Ms. Sophia is a mess. If you’re gay, does that mean that you need to act like that? I don’t think so. I listen to the Bert Show. Now that’s a good morning show!

Jealously? Probably. Ludacris could probably buy that dude 100000x over and it BOTHERS him to death that some ‘nig’ as he mentioned has more money and is more successful than he is.
I will never forget. 9 years ago I was in a hick town and a policeman accused me of being involved with a fight. I told him, “I make 125k a year. Why in the hell would I want to fight a kid.” That hit him VERY hard. Why? Because I was have his age, BLACK, and made more money in one year then he did in 5. It’s all good. Just keep hating!

Not only that……the show was very lame…….and the sound of trucks engine was more entertaining. GRIFF…….A grown AZZ man whining in every breath he takes was and is very ANNOYING. this was indeed for budget cutting reason. hot wasn’t the only station affected. All of the Radio One stations aside from classic soul were affected with cuts. Renee miller is out at wjzz, sonia hamm is out at WPZE. E4Real is indeed gone from hot

We need to do a clean sweep of Atlanta’s African American morning radio…………..they are all pretty bad! I’m not sure how Wanda and what’s his name stays on…they are the worse…right behind Steve Harvey. 107 wasn’t great but I would at least listen occasionally.
I’m just amazed that you can have a segment in one hour called “morning inspiration” with gospel and all…and then you come back the next hour and play music that truly would beat the inspiration out of anyone…go figure!!!

The Reason why the A-Team was on the top three is by default. Hot 107.9 can do better with the younger market and capture a greater crowd in the urban and the suburban markets.
The morning show must also have the ability to empower and inspire the young people. In that phase, the A-Team was not ideal in it’s achievements. A-Team was no A-Team to many of us, but we listened to it because we are always tuned in.
It is time for a Change. We need someone who is a comic, and has a political context. I like to see how the new show does at a defining moment in America’s history. For the next few months, the talk show must go beyond the pop-culture and use it as a Power of empowerment.

Wow, not the A-team. Honestly, I only loved to listen to Rashan Ali… I am so glad she is staying. I don’t wish losing a job on anyone, but Griffs voice was annoying and it didnt fit the A-team show. Also, Akini, I dont know why he was part of them team. All he wanted to do was get girls to model for him and send candid pictures. He was the most unprofessional person of them all. I hope Griff does a self evaluation and ask the question,”Is radio his calling?” This is the second time he has been let go in the Atlanta radio market.I wish the former A-Team well. This is also a dent in hip hop as well. The samething was done in L.A. with an infamous station equivilant to Hot 107.9 which is also owned by Radio One.This station dismissed Steve Harvey to only call him back just a few years later once he became syndicated.

People that try and connect all African Americans to the A-team morning show may obviously rely on the media for all of its information, and may not genuinely know an African-American for them selves.
I am suggesting that all persons, across all color lines, get out of their comfort zone, meet some other people, and crush this ignorance.
As an African-American man, married for 16 years, with two lovely daughters, and living a quiet, unassuming life in Duluth, GA-We should not receive any special attention for doing what every law abiding citizen with high expectations is doing. Our outlook on life is bright.
And we are not alone. And you do not know us, yet we are good neighbors.
But the media only reports what the same, lame, undisciplined, underachieving, and lawbreaking, violent 10 percent of our race is doing. They habitually listen to the A-team on Hot 107.9 (Good riddance, by the way).
Persons in the U.S. are insulated by zip codes and landmarks not willing to meet people of other cultures are susceptible to mystery and its associative bias against others. When you use these bias to affect our you make decisions, you actuate racism.
To sum it up, don’t depend on the media to expand your experiences with other persons of a different culture. Invite a person from a different culture to a social gathering. It will be good for all.
Next on the chopping block: Frank-serving two gods-Ski, the unsexy, mean spirited Wanda with their abominably, sick and causing confusion to kids, Ms Sophia who is actually a large man.

I tolerated the morning show when Ryan was part of the crew. Since he’s left I only listen when there’s a song I like. I think they were all very annoying and the show didn’t seem to flow well. I am glad the radio show has been cancelled. Its subpar at best.
Some of the comments have been very ignorant and childish. True some of the radio personalities on that show were unbearable; however, those people are not indicative of the entire race or culture.
Truth be told for you to try to categorize the entire race is silly. I guess the white guy who held his family in a trailer was the exception to the rule.

Grif - the most annoying voic I’ve ever had to listen to on radio. I was a Ryan Cameron lover so i always listened to hot but once i heard the new fool i was like “ok, no more.” Grif cannot speak English well, his pronounciation cannot hit the ends of words and is the epitome of a bad example for youth (as far as speaking).
Rashan - is ok, but I liked her better when she was Ryan’s side kick. She can definitely do her own show individually, and will be fine.
CJ - I know she wasn’t on there for a looong time, but she was a hot mess and i was so glad when she was out. The reason being her confusion about her race. She may need to go to the same pronounciation school with Grif (just an idea).
Beyonce - she was mosltly sidelines and she has no researching skills.
Searcy - should just dj
Akini - was cool, but needs some more experience with a good radio personality being on the sidelines. Someone like Franki Ski, Ryan Cameron, or Greg Street.

I didn’t care anymore to listen to the radio station in the morning. I do however, like the professionalism of Paula Phillips.

It is really sad to hear that the A-TEAM is done but they are keeping the dirty boys. There show is way more ignorant then the A-team. Yes griff did have a different voice but last time I checked we are all different in some type of way. Let me also say that I did not listen to 107.9 unless I caught them playing a song I liked. The reason I did not listen to this station had a lot to do with them never touching on more political or community issues that we deal with everyday. But if you just wanted to listen to people have fun then this was a great station to listen to. It is really sad when anyone has to lose their job these days. I do wish all the A-TEAM the best. Let God lead you to where HE WANTS YOU TOO BE.
PS: The people on here that are talking off the topic at hand should go create their own blog. If you have the time to comment on this issue which is one that was nothing to do with what black people are doing to themselves. Please take the time to research a blog that you can rant and rave about what you think black people should do were people really care about your opinion. This is bitter sweet to hear. The A-Team did some positive things on the radio. I think “Teen Talk Thursdays” was a blessing. As a parent this gave me topics to discuss with my daughter that I wouldnt normally discuss with her, so that was a good thing…on the other hand, Griff was annoying, he was very opinionated and wouldnt respect the listeners when they called in. Rashan was cool, Searcy was just learning to rap :)…wish them much success

107.9 was very juvenile and ghetto. no one seemed to really have an opinion or knowledge. Griff’s voice was irritating and Rashan to me didn’t have a center really. v-103 is just as bad with Frank Ski who thinks he knows everything. and Elle who is nerve racking. she has this better than you demeanor yet she has no opinion until Ryan says it’s okay to have one. personally i don’t listen to either anymore in the mornings and prefer the Steve Harvey morning show. i’ll listen to Ryan and Portia but the ghetto morning shows really need changing.

It really wasn’t a good show lets face it. The best one was Rashaan. Griff is not funny not by far. I am not hating this is my opinion the show sucked. I listen to 790 the zone that’s an AM station.

I can not believe this. I really enjoy listening to the A-Team in the morning on my way to work.
Griff, to me, is hillarious!!! He always makes me laugh. RaShawn is awesome. Emperor Searcy is cool, took some getting used to though. As I read the above comments, I noticed several postings mentioning Ryan Cameron and how the station wasn’t the same. I wasn’t in this state theN and wasn’t able to listen but if he was anything like he is on V-103…woa, he is sorry. I mean everytime I’d accidentally put it on V-103 while driving home from work- I’d hear crickets. His show (commenting on the very few times I’d actually listen) was really boring. Well, I will not listen to V-103… Radio One, I think you’re making a mistake putting Ricky Smiley on. He isn’t funny- to me. Thank G-D Tom Joyner is still on!!!! REMEMBER TO BARACK THE VOTE

The A-Team sucked! Frank Ski is the worst radio dj on the planet. With his two sidekicks, the out-of-work comedian and the shemale. Is this supposed to be a new sitcom? (Frank and the Girls, Everyody Hates Frank, Itchy and Scratchy), Radio in Atlanta needs new life. Why can’t we find local talent who play good music? Inspirational Vitamin? WTF? Programmers at these stations have no idea what good music is.

I am a professional woman in my 30’s and the morning show HoT107.9 did not appeal to working professionals. When someone is in traffic, they need soothing voices and easy listening. Beyonce was fake and I think this show declined because they went from being “of the hood” to “preaching to the hood. No one wants that from their morning show…just entertain me and leave the preaching for sunday!

Money does not mean a thing when one is un educated and doesn’t know what to do with it. We sell our souls to make money and then blow on the NOW and not invest in the future. We are the most intelligent yet, un educated people on this earth. We think that it is cute to listen to degrading music. We don’t care about our health, children, etc. We don’t teach respect so of course we don’t have it for each other. We laugh at our educated BROTHAS and SISTAS and don’t care that DAILY we are being left behind. Our music is DUMBED down. Every African American reality show, movie, etc. is GHETTO and DRAMA as if that is the make up of our race. We will NEVER EVER have leaders like El Hajj Malik El Shabazz(Malcolm X) or MLK, Jr. again because we are raising followers not leaders. Are so called young men are not men. None can fight without weapons or their POSSE. Catch them byu themselves and see how hard they are. Please I could go on for days about OUR problems but we don’t care because it is to convenient for us to continue doin nothing about our community!!!!

Took them long enough. The whole 107.9 channel is a mess. The “durty boys” is a joke and a very offensive show, and people wonder why their kids are messed up. Hip hop doesnt have to be portrayed as ultra ghetto all the time. Im glad to see them gone. Im not a fan of V103 either cause truthfully I cant stomach either one.

I listen to the A-team, as well as other shows, in the morning while taking my son to school. Not only is the A-Team something I can listen to with my son, I can also keep up with what’s going on with trends in Atlanta. I especially like “Teen Talk Thursday”, where teens can call in and talk about various issues. I’m from Birmingham, but I don’t think bringing in Ricky Smiley will improve Hot’s morning ratings. Good luck, A-Team! You will be missed!!!

Atlanta (actually most) urban radio is awful and I haven’t listened to it regularly since Mike Roberts and Carol Blackmon. Imitation is the simplest form of simple and it all sounds EXACTLY the same now - syndicated or not. It’s quickly moving toward relic status, like the National Anthem being played after the last television show of the night. It gave me great memories, but I no longer have a place for it in my world of entertainment.
Can we get anything fresh, something new, material that matters? Everything, even the positive stuff is an obvious stunt and part of someone’s marketing plan. It’s embarassing how patronizing it all is now. Even WCLK is letting me down. It’s a shame when NPR and All Things Considered on it’s dullest, white-bread day, is more amusing than a working comedian, just sad.
I personally like Rashan and what she represents, a fairly inteligent young black woman with an informed opinion and an articulate voice through which that opinion travels to the masses. Radio, show business in general, has an innate fear of that type of personality. A station trying to save itself and be innovative would tap into that and let her do what she does (hint, hint, Radio One owned by a woman of what I presume is similar caliber).
While I truly wish there was another way, urban radio is on its way out; it’s moving closer each day to its own suicide. It needs a complete functional and spiritual overhaul that has little to do with the innane lyrics in the songs it subjects us to, as witnessed by the J. Dupri/Greg Street DJ Is Dead controversy. Guess what guys? If JD didn’t have some semblance of a point, that lil hen party would have never made the news.
A word of support to everyone in that industry - I hope you find a way to fix it before you all get gone. And now, I’m going back to my ipod and the songs that never got any radio play because the radio’s been playing the same song all day long. Seriously, I’m praying for you all. But, until it changes — I AIN’T LISTENING.

I can’t comment on 107.9 because I’ve never listened to it. However, V-103 is a dark mark on our city. It perpetuates every sterotype about us. Miss Sophia and Wanda are a disgrace. I personally love the Tom Joyner Morning show. Steve Harvey is baffoonery at it’s best. Another disgrace. We have to stop settling for this type of nonsense just to get a laugh. As for the white people who who are blogging and making racial disparaging remarks on here, I feel so sorry for you because you are cowards in the worst way. I think Ryan Cameron should join the morning show w/Wanda and Miss Sophia. They all have better chemistry together more so than w/Frank Ski. The 3 of them are comedians so they fit together. Frank tries too hard. And talks too damm much! And knows everything! Basically, we’re so over Frank!

I was a Ryan Cameron listener, and even listened to the A Team years later probably before CJ left, I stopped listening not because of the lack of the quality of the show, but because I am a tad older and just found a better fit on Steve Harvey etc…BUT I am not knocking any of the personalities, I love all of them, Griff is a very good person its a shame you are degrading this guy because of his voice. He has done wonders for the community, he also had special segments where they would honor administrative assistants on friday by surprising them, that was a nice touch of class, if u dont like the station or the demographics, don’t dog out the personalities for their character. Sad to hear of the A-Team’s demise but I’m sure they’ll all move on to bigger and better things. I don’t like to bash a person when they’re down but Griff irritated the hell out of me talking when others were talking. So many times I wanted to call in and say yo’ Griff, STHU, PLEASE! Especially during the entertainment report. I hope he learns from this experience that professionalism is no. 1 at all times.

I have read several of the comments listed and find all of them quite interesting. Personally I could/can not stand Rashan Ali. She’s over talks all of them like it’s HER show. I never really tried V103 b/c of Frank Ski. His voice is annoying and I just don’t see what all the hype is. I’m not going to even comment on Ms. Sophia (ridiculous, please stop)…. I listen to Steve Harvey or Tom Joyner depending on my mood. I’m a Rickey Smiley Fan, so I’m not sure how I’m going to balance this.

I think it’s a good thing the A-team is going away. They were the worst after Ryan left! I can’t believe that Radio One was so dumb as to believe that the only man in the city who was able to knock Frank and Wanda out the #1 spot was really replaceable with “the A team”. Rashan Ali was a protege of Ryan’s that he found through an MC search contest and she won. How did they think she could replace her mentor? The show was juvenile and mediocre at best. I hate to see them lose jobs in these times, but it was an awful show.
As for those hating on Miss Sophia, I say let a hater do his/her job and keep hating on her and she’ll just continue to get better! …
I do agree that Frank and Wanda needs to be replaced with Ryan and El and they can maybe move to the afternoons. Frank is a huge name dropper and Wanda needs to go to adult literacy school to learn to speak proper English.
Maybe a new morning show can be Ryan, Elle and Miss Sophia.

Maybe I’m getting too old… but over the past couple of years, I’ve tuned off Hot 107.9 ESPECIALLY when I’m driving my kids to school in the morning. Much of the music being played, much of their commentary, and most of their jokes just aren’t consistent with what I’m trying to teach my kids. I turn off V103 because Frank Ski is a hypocritical know-it-all…

As far as Frank Ski and Wanda…Oh my goodness, its just a mess. Wanda seems really sweet, but she seems like a follower without her own opinion. She seems very complacent. I’m thankful a lot of people found inspiration and motivation from the inspirational vitamin, but I am sorry, Frank Ski has no business administering such a message so early in the morning. Yes I party and go to clubs, but you don’t see me preaching to people everyday. One night, I was at Studio 72, and Frank was in there just a cussin and saying “n* this and n* that” I was like…Wait a minute!!! Is this the man that delivers the inspirational vitamin every morning? After that, I kind of fell off from the inspirational vitamin, and I don’t feel inspired anymore to listen to it. That’s like the devil preaching to you every Sunday morning, but during the week he trying to bring you down.
I read this from input above. Kudos for the insightful observation. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has seen Frank Rodriquez on display at one of the clubs, be it S-72, 112, Vision, VV or Esso. The man is the biggest hypocrite in this city. But that’s to be expected from a man who barely has a high-school education (he never went to college, be you didn’t know that, huh?) and who passes himself on as some kind of super “sophisticate”. Even as he “snarkles” down the wine, he betrays a boorishness that is always on display at the clubs of Alanta. And while he pretends to do a lot for the community, everything Mr. Rodriquez does in done with his own selfish interests (and personal greed) in mind. He is the “bad-culture pusher man” of this city. And by that I mean that like any good drug dealer, he’s not only interested in make a sale right now, but to make sure that he’s got sales well in to the future by infesting the minds of the children with the garbage is spews daily from his hip-hop pulpit. Its sad to hear they have lost their jobs but it was bound to happen. When Ryan left it went down hill from there sad to say it. Griff I couldn’t take and Rashaan was alright but its time for change. Bringing Ricky Smiley is not any better.
I recommend everyone invest in satellite radio and be done with it. Frank and Wanda better watch out b/c it can happen to them as well. Good luck A team!

Next stop is get rid of that womanizing Frank Ski, and that drag queen wannabe Sophia, she gives the real drag queens a bad name. Ryan needs to get rid of Elle or M or whatever her name is, and he need to go to mornings, and Porsche needs to go back to whatever hole they dragged her from under to bring her back to radio, who had that bright idea.

Rashaun is a contest winner. That’s how she ended up on the show. Bottom line. Prior to radio, she was an assistant to Left Eye (not even her a main assistant) and that’s it. They tried to take her and make her the center of things resulting in the most unimaginable EGO you’d ever seen. When Ryan Cameron was on the show I could listen in the morning on the way to work and have that good “Cosby Show” feeling! Once Ryan “left” it felt like I was listenting to BET UNCUT!
It’s a good thing for Rashan, that show was holding her back if anything, and Griff, well Griff, well ummmmmmmm hey,,,, I’ll just not say anything ;)

GOOD These idiots made me feel like my brain cells were dying just listening to their trifling, ghetto, community destroying crap. Every morning of their b****** was setting black people back 5 years. I switched to the Bert Show years ago and it is 2000000x better, Griff is not funny and needs to go to college to get an education instead of constantly bashing it. Emperor Searcy seemed to be the only somewhat intelligent one on that show.
Akini was virtually non existent.
Shyneka should have been cut isntead of E4real. Now the station is only good for the Durty Boys and their retarded adolescant humor (but at least they know they’re retarded and play to the younger audience).

TO ALL ATLANTA RADIO EXECS & TV PRODUCERS: The Atlanta Market belongs to the RYAN KING (mornings or afternoons). Ryan Cameron is versatile, entertaining, funny, intelligent — he got game in radio & TV! He doesn’t need a sidekick like Elle or Rashan — they add nothing to the equation. Once Ryan left Hot 107.9 and the dust finally settled, they were left with a bunch of mess! I can’t believe they were ranked #3. Rashan - don’t believe the hype. You weren’t all that! Personally CJ was much more hype to listen to (now at 95.5). OMG- Griff’s voice, won’t miss his slow talking, annoying, aggravating talk at all. Loved DJ Searcy (emphasis on deejay) 4’oclock traffic jam. The morning show was lame. Play the music and shut up!!!!
LET’S START A PETITION NOW TO TAKE THE FRANK & WANDA SHOW OFF TV! Eewww. Frank Ski is Doo-Doo Brown and so is his show. Wanda could be funnier if Frank would let her get a word in edgewise. Frank doesn’t use proper grammar, have you listened to him?! All up in the clubs with his ghetto self, and putting out an inspirational vitamin which he especially needs for himself.
Rickey Smiley, Steve Harvey, and Tom Joyner are nice alternatives when you just need a nice chuckle.

I am so happy that they have cancelled that show. It is horrible. I am 28 and I have been down with the station since it first began as 97.5 and I must say that the quality of the morning show just has not been there since Ryan left. They definitely lost me as a listener. I hope I can come back once they make that switch.

I am glad the show is cancelled. It was way too innapropriate for the mornings. I am 28 and I haven’t listened to them for the past 2-3 years. I listen to 91.9 (jazz) or 90.1 (NPR radio). Ryan was the best, I hope Ricky can bring that feeling back to mornings.

What people fail to realize is that can’t no one do atlanta like people from atlanta and although all of them might not be exactly from atlanta they were representing us in our city and letting people know that we don’t need any outside influence from anyone. That is what made people want to gravitate to our city. By doing this we are just like all the other cities who can’t hold there own we blend right in. Griff, Akini, Maria More, E4Real and Pezo were those unfortunately let go yesturday…It didn’t stop there. Sonya Hamm from Praise 97.5 and Renee Miller from Smooth Jazz 107.5 were also let go. I certainly won’t miss ALL of them, but I wish them well!! If you think this was about bringing more “intelligent” programming to the “A,” you are wrong. It was about MONEY first, and RATINGS second. Rickey Smiley (whose show I doubt I’ll like at all) and his syndicated show are just WAY cheaper to pay for than 5 seperate people’s salaries in one show. They also hope that Rickey will bring in big ratings…but it didn’t work the last time they tried syndicated programming in that slot…soooooo…

Believe me or not, I am the one who started the online petition for Ryan Cameron when he was in the contract dispute with Hot. I, as so many of you, knew then that if he left, Hot would not be the same. And it wasn’t.
In fact, once Ryan left mornings, I pretty much left mornings. There was just NOTHING worth listening to. However, lately, I have been giving The Steve Harvey Radio Show a bit of my time in the mornings, but it doesn’t compare to Ryan’s morning show.

As much as I would like to be happy about the situation I’m not. Even though none of them could rap (NO Rashan not you either) they were ALL annoying. Their topics sucked and Griff acts like his lil baby that hates him. I feel like when Ryan left 107.9 the whole station went down. Akini you are not a black mack, and Searcy keep your other job (making beats, and producing). Rashan you cant act baby I saw your smidget of a part and it was terrible. There were too many chiefs and no indians up there. Rashan acted like she was running the A-Team morning show so that turned me off a little by her arrogance towards the other staff. She always to me acted as if she was the main attraction and Griff and Searcy were her understudies or something. Please get over yourself Rashan The Dream was not talking about you on the single “Shawty is da Sh!” Well I guess we’ll see who’s helping who when the smoke clears. However I think the show fell by the wayside when she went out on maternity leave and they brought in Emperor Searcy. Emperor never fit in to me and Griff what can i say???? He never fit the bill either although I was happy when he had turned his life over to Christ but then to one the few days I would catch the show things just still didn’t seem to mesh well with him. CJ CJ CJ i was glad when she left the show I never knew what her calling was for the show besides to have a caucasian person on a perdominately african american show! Hope all will be well with them in the future and Rashan keep your head up and keep doing your thang! :) got nothin’ but love for you. miss our bookclub meetings.

I am glad the A Team is off the air. They sounded so ignorant!!! And the sad part is that I met Rashan and she does not sound like that in person.I felt like she dummed down to make herself sound ghetto for the radio. This in turn teaches our kids not to speak well. It makes me sad to see kids on television speaking like they have not spent a day in school. My comment is neither to rejoice in the firing of any African-American or bash any radio show. But it is obvious that we as African-Americans need and now are demanding(way over due) more than the “maistream images” from our entertainment world. The old excuse of “it’s just music, or movies or radio” has finally played out. We need to see more of the positive side of our culture in the mainstream media. It’s time to promote and support the portion of our cuture that produced the written art of Langston and Maya, vocal excellence from Marving to John Legend, the instrumental brilliance of Miles and Wynton and the “real Hip Hop” lyrics of KRS and The Greatest Lyricist of All Time, Rakim Allah. I understand that radio is a business and listeners drive that business, but innovation means taking something completely different and giving it a chance to appeal to the masses to bring about change. Radio One has a huge voice within our communities, and feel that this is an opportunity for them to bring to the forefront a new voice and new format that mirrors the ever evolving mentalities of our people, not just the commercial sterotypical characterizations that we are receiving now! And one last comment, when is the word “hater” going to ever get old. Why are we so focused on and convinced that everyone else is after us or does not want us to make it. Of course it happens, but too much energy is being placed on those we feel are like this. It’s to the point where we focus on them more than we focus on those that are trying to help us. We have now gotten to the point where we miss those who are trying to help us because our paranoia of “haters” causes us to mistrust everyone. Let’s wake up get prepared for the ” new dawn” that is coming on 11/05/2008.

It was not one of my favorite morning shows, however on days that I’ve tuned it…here and there they’d grab my attention at times with their email of the day or Rashan’s Sports commentaries. I wish the entire crew well. I think they all hardworking, caring, and articulate individuals. They’ve contributed so much to our community and have helped our children and young adult with social, economic, and financial problems amidst the black community. I wish them all well. Well someone tell why Frank and Wanda are on television. We are not seeing much. All I see is that Frank is a fat and a terrible dresser. I also fell out when he had on that rainbow tribe shirt last night. Wanda looks in person the way she looks on the radio and that is GHETTO. I am glad that Nina is not talking with that annoying voice of hers. I never will forget when she was complaining saying, He got my flowers from KROGER. I was like ewwwwwwwwww. It’s a shame that they need a man in a dress and a wig to keep ratings up. Channel 69 please replace this show with something else. This is a waste of airtime.

Ok … I just had one more thing to add. Has anyone seen Frank and Wanda’s TV show? It is the worst “TV show ever”! It’s even worse than the GEICO Cavemen show was! All they do is tape them doing their morning show and then show it like we really want to see what they do in the studio! And, although I like Miss Sophia, I think she should dress as a man and not wear dresses and makeup like she’s a woman. Even Flip Wilson wore a dress as Geraldine back in the 70s (yes I’m showing my age) but he didn’t go around tryin to dress like a woman all the time. He wore the dress to do the character but that’s it … Miss Sophia give up the dress please!!!

I Moved here from Washington D.C.The Local Radio Morning Shows here in Atlanta is awful. The A team suck. Griff voice alone almost cause me to wreck on I-285 twice. Frank&Wanda show play the same tired music every morning. When I riding with someone else on Friday nights an they are listening to V103 Frank ski plays the same music from the past friday like no one can tell the difference. I think Ryan is the best person at that station. Frank Ski can’t DJ a block party in Augusta.

WOW I’m a little surprised. Griff’s voice is very unique, I don’t believe in bashing what God gave you. His comments were very annoying at times though (but so can everyone elses). Searcy should be back on in afternoons and get rid of that ridiculous Mizz Shayneka. E4Real was my fav. I think Rashan would do better in a different format.
They need to get rid of that WHOLE v103 crowd. That has got to be the WORST show in the history of morning shows. Frank and Wanda are a joke and stale. They need a fresh crew over there. The people running that station must be on drugs or drinkin’ all day not realize that their morning show is complete crap! And why in the h*ll did they go and hire that Porche Foxx back. Her show is a snooze fest.
As for Rickey Smiley - I’ve got news for you, he’s not that great either.

I think it’s great that somebody finally said its over. The entire 107.9 broadcast, all 24 hours, is very juvenile. I’m a 29 year old listener with kids and I have always disliked the A Team morning show. I can’t take the “noise” they create in the mornings on my way to work or school. I don’t like Frank Ski either but I’d rather hear his show. I hope they find a place to fit in but not in the mornings.

Thank God…I hated that show. The hot day rhyme was a joke. I mean think they really thought they had talent. Leave rapping to the rappers fools…Griff was too much into himself and annoying and everytime Rashan spoke it sounded like she was yelling. I don’t remember anyone else. I stopped listening and tuned into V103 which isn’t to much better except for Ryan. I love Ryan….everyone else can kick rocks!

Wow, hate..hate…hate…I’m so glad most of us don’t live to please others…I’m glad there was an A-Team that let the world know that it’s ok to be hip-hop and have a wide-variety of conversation. I’m glad that Griff showed that it’s awesome for me to love the Lord and be a hip-hop head. I’m glad that they opened up their lines to dedicate some time to Teens on Teen-talk Thursdays for whatever they felt needed to be addressed. I appreciate their transparency which is so rare. Just because they weren’t a blessing to you, please believe they were commissioned by God for a certain period of time to be a blessing to someone. Lastly, I’m quite sure that them making it is the least of their worries because they are all intelligent and artistic personalities. Be blessed people..

I wish them MUCH success in their future endeavors but the show has been going downhill for quite some time. The station in general, not just the morning show, is extremely juvenile. The content of the various shows throughout day could use a face lift. I personally listen to Steve Harvey in the morning to get away from the TALK-A-THON on V-103 (Frank is annoying as HELL) and the wack hot day rhyme on 107.9. Wherever the members of the morning show up, I hope they find much success.

I do agree with “Big D” I cant stand frank ski. Im not hating but that dude is so arrogant and can be very condenscending to his listener. Steve Harvey is a piece of work with corny ole azz. I’m new to GA and from a smaller city with a smaller market, but with a couple local morning shows that were family because they’re all from the area. I’m a music head, so if i even get into my car at all there’s gonna be music playing. Puts me in a better mood. It’s ingrained in me, i don’t apologize.
But, I tend to flip the channel a lot in the mornings because i don’t feel as if Atlanta has a morning show for my age range (early 30’s). Either i get crunk or hear the same radio singles… repeatedly. I’m not speaking ill of ANY station or personality, but honestly, you’d think someone would realize that there’s a piece missing in the demographic puzzle of the radio stations here. I hope Rickey Smiley is grown and sexy with it! But that doesn’t even SOUND right, lol, so i guess we’ll see. Good luck to the 107.9 personalities on their new journeys. Think positive, we can only get better with change, you know??
BTW - to those of you who have a problem with slang. There’s a time and a place for everything, and i’d rather read the slang than hear it, if i had a choice. I don’t. Thing is, how ignorant and class conscious are we that we can’t see beyond words? We judge the delivery and keep missing the WHOLE message. Why is my conversation any less intelligent than yours if i use slang? Because YOU doubt yourself too much. When you focus on being something other than what comes natural to you it turns into self hatred. I LOVE me. Wendy Williams would be going deeper into the gutter. Besides this is ATLANTA. We don’t need anymore syndicated shows based elsewhere (Michael Baisden is a MAJOR exception). This is what happens when independent radio becomes at this of the past and you have the radio ones and clear channels of the world. The last thing on the boardroom list is catering to the community and listeners.

The majority of these comments disappoint me. If you would have taken the time to do some research, you would have realized that the A-Team was doing well in the ratings. And, that RadioOne did this as a way of saving salary expenses. If you think about it, lots of companies are struggling right now, so we could all be downsized to save expense dollars. Let’s stop judging each other…Let’s stop complaining about insignificant things like Griff’s voice, Searcy’s intelligence, or Rashan’s personality…Instead, let’s focus on what these people used their “celebrity” to accomplish—mentoring youth thru organizations like Positive Vibes!

I stopped listening to 107.9’s morning show after Ryan left. I cannot stand Frank Ski…something just aint right about him so I definitely dont listen to v-103’s morning show. When I was in college I just happened to turn to Q-100 and found The Bert Show, now they definitely dont play all hip hop but they have a really fun morning show its all I listen to now when Im out in the AM.

I stopped listening to BOTH morning shows years ago!! I got sick of “Name Throwin” Frank-Ski and Ryan “Talking About Frank-Ski All Day” Cameron going back and forth like 2 juveniles! Those guys really started the defections from both stations. Now, I’m listening to sports talk radio on the A.M. side or satellite radio…less talk, more music. At the end of the day, this city to which I am proud to call my birthplace, deserves quality urban radio with personalities who extend themselves out of the box. Just because you play Lil’ Wayne doesn’t mean that you have to act like him. There is a place for both morning shows in Atlanta, we just have to demand quality.

It’s about time! The A team is lacking so many things. I’m sure they are all great people, but they aren’t qualified to pull off a morning show. I always felt like Rashan tried to pull off an imitation of Ryan Cameron…ever notice how she emphasizes certain things?? And Griff…well, I couldn’t bare to listen when he was on v103 and sure didn’t listen to him on hot1079. He is not funny at all. I’m glad they’re out, but hope they find new gigs.

I can not believe the A team morning show got cancel. They were almost like family. I lived in Atlanta for 6 years and I listen to them every single morning. I was so upset when Ryan left, now this! I now live in St. Louis and every morning I wake up and listen to the live stream from online. Whenever I’m in town, which is like once a month It’s how I start my day when my alarm goes off the first thing I hear is the morning show. What now V-103 I rather die!

I guess all those hideous billboards that are all over the city will be removed? The addition of Searcy didn’t sit well with me, he just didn’t fit in, Griff speaks horribly, has a terrible vocabulary and if I hear him say “brung” one more time, I think I’ll vomit. Rashaan made the show worth listening to, she’s the only reason I tuned in, glad to see that she is staying. Otherwise, they had a good run, and recovered well after Ryan left. I bet he’s happy as hell he left when he did. I am ready for something new, but Atlanta will still be lacking other black morning show options with local talent. I really don’t dig Frank Ski and his irritating Kermit The Frog voice…him and those soap boxes he gets on are painful to listen to and the inspirational vitamin is awkward, especially when it plays right after ads of Frank inviting the city to Club Esso every weekend. sigh

I do not understand all the animosity towards the Frank and Wanda morning show. Both do a lot for the community and try to inspire, inform and get their audiences to think about the important issues of the day. They also take great interest in the youth of the city by sponsoring trips to the Space camp in Huntsville, to the Galapagos Island where Darwin formulated the theory of evolution as well as a student trip a few months ago to the Amazon in South America. Sophia is a bit much and almost everything from his/her entertainment report was on the internet the day before and Frank sometimes does too much name dropping but their hearts are in the right place and their actions benefit, uplift and inspire their listeners. It is no accident they have been the number one show for many years. They have good chemistry and do good works. To all you haters the three of them are not going anywhere until they get good and ready. They have been the number one show for years and that means major $$$ for their employer. I only thing I know about Griff was when he was at V-103 they dialed his mom live on the air to ask her about his upbringing but instead got the pre-recorded operator message “The number you have dialed is not in service”. They played that all morning lone. The other thing I remember about him was when Wanda got on him for being really rude to a flight attendant on one of their trips. He may have some issues but I wish him no ill will.

Honestly I am not surprised. I hardly ever listened to them. The only person I could remotely stand to listen to was Rashan—because she was educated—however, she too was never were able to dive really deep into issues that affect the black community. They would only touch the surface—Rashan often rushed callers off the phone instead of allowing the show to flow—it was just really “choppy.” Griff: he’s an example of a big person with no brain. Dead at the earring Griff. Not sexy.He would try to overpower conversations with callers who maybe disagreed with him and it was just plain rude. I happened to scan the station the morning Usher called in and Griff’s attitude needed to be adjusted. What he didn’t realize is that Usher does thousands of interviews and was possibly asked the same question 1000 times before. If he didn’t want to talk about his wife—move on. Beyonce: WTF? Try a new name-Be original. Akini and Searcy: Nothing really bad to say about them. Hot Day Rhyme just urked me. And if you listen to the callers—- everyone is SO DANG IGNORANT. Splitting verbs and all -Afternoon Crew: Shyneeka could use a couple of speech classes. It’s almost like she reverts to broken english in the middle of a sentence. -Dirty Boyz: A prime example of some wanna be rappers/cool dudes who clearly both give me a “DL” vibe. - I either listen to Q100 or my iPod.they are funny and the stories are interesting. I love R. cameron and often listen to him and Elle in the Afternoon. I also love Greg Street—he’s a legend and he is who he is. (Frank and Wanda—could too use some changes—Frank is just plain annoying but I wont get on that soapbox—and what’s with all the hate towards Miss Sophia. I like her. She’s funny and her and Wanda make a great combination) -Hot 107.9 should be scratched—-they should start over and make it a station geared towards young professionals with disucssions/parties/forums about fashion/hip hop/culture and other things concerning us——think of brining “atlantic station” vibe to the radio. we dont care whether Banneker HS is going to win on Friday night.-its too many educated black people in this city to have this ghetto radio station. I have empathy for the team. The best thing they had was “Teen Talk Thursday” although I rarely listened. I knew it was good for the community and students. They tried, but budget cuts are leading Radio One down a road to just playing automated music on Praise and WJZZ and some syndicated mess that won’t work on Hot. Most Atlantans prefer local hosts.
Open your minds, people. When Ryan left Hot, I turned to The Bert Show with it’s hilarity and diversity. I get Steve Harvey in the car (but not at home…damn that cheap Radio One signal!). If I need to connect with local news that affects my community, I might suffer through Frank and Wanda.
The only thing that would make this better is pairing RYAN and WANDA w/ Sophia. They have a great rapport, and I dig the alternative entertainment that is Sophia. I love V103 when Ryan transforms into The Ryan King for the mornings. Can’t stand Ryan Cameron at mid-day.

The show was terrible after I’m going to piggy back off everyone else comment, Ryan Cameron left. He was the and still is the man, I have to give him that much. The only thing that Hot 107.9 have going are the durrty boyz. I think that they are funny, entertaining, and just plain out good. If I was them, I would ask for a raise for sure!

Ok… I just took out some time to read alllll the comments on hear… From Griffs voice being annoying, to a man calling US morons…to rashan being high class or ghetto oh and some MORON even mentioned about Clayton County Schools loosing their accreditation. Imma make this short and sweet… It was a JOB.. Im sure ever one has had their days with a JOB… as long as a WHITE man run the show.. US African americans wont have NOTHING and just to show as long as WE go and degrade someone because of their JOB….and because they are entertainers…that mean ya’ll must wish you were in their position. Well, much has been said, but the facts are the show was struggling, but not due to lack of effort. Outside of Rashaan Ali, radio just doesn’t seem to be thier forte. On a personal note, it would be nice to see some intelligent black folks on the air using proper english. Barrack Obama is showing the world what professional African Americans are. They don’t “Ball”, encourage you to drink and blow your earnings every Friday and most off all tell you to buy a cheap a** Legacy Home (Frank Ski). They also don’t promote some of the most negative African American images in America (Ghetto Rappers). I am a big hip hop fan and a big African American Fan too……I wish them all good luck. BUT..black people if we don’t change our attitudes, speech and image(s)…You may be next to get let go from your job. Atlanta is The Black Mecca…but we are turning into the Black Hole..OK I am done now..

Not suprised. I used to listen to 107 when Ryan was on in the mornings. I flipped back and forth on the way to work with TJMS. When I got to work, I had no choice of black radio other than 103 because they had strong enough reception to reach me in the basment area of where I work.
103 got to the point I only listened on scruples Wednesday or ole’ school Friday.
Frank with his name dropping was a big turn off.He’s very opinionated and thinks his opinion is fact. Wanda and her contradicting self was rediculous. Always talking about “young people these days” and she’s got gold in her mouth? They always like to clown folks that have issues, but when one of their own(Porshe Fox)? came under fire, they didn’t want to hear any criticism of her!
I never understood why black radio has to have a man flaming.
My solution was to get XM satellite radio. It’s worth the $13/mo. subscription. Most people waste that in 20 minutes at the club in one night.
I don’te even listen to local radio.
I stopped listening to 103 when Sophia came on board. I couldn’t believe it. That voice and yelling early in the morning. Makes you cringe.

ATLANTA RADIO SHOWS COMMENTS: HOT 107.9, was not funny. It was very country-ghetto and also demeaning to our African American people.
V-103……. (GAG)Another demeaning African American Radio Station. I stopped listening to it the day I heard Wanda talking about “you sistas need to get your game right before all the white women take our men”. Then she proceeded to discuss why brothas go to white women, saying “it’s because Jenny will do more in the bed and she is freakier than Shaniqua”. Keep in mind this was aproximately 8:00am on a weekday morning. Unfortunately, some working parents have to place our children in daycare centers that have extremely incompetent staff allowing our impressionable young children to listen to this kind of filth in the mornings. Then you have Frank Ski. I believe we have all read this blog by now. Most everything we have read about him is true. He IS the biggest hipocrite and I think Tonya is stupid for staying with that sorry excuse for a man ! What an extremely bad example of what our black men should be. ::PUKE:: Next, we have that “Trans-gendered character”; Ms Sophia………wow, that’s what I want my child listening to while riding the school bus early in the morning or at day care during summer camp…… Need I say more?
Don’t forget both of these radio stations play music which is many times uncensored, that degrade our black women, calling them B*tches & Hoe’s and diss white people. I have yet to hear some country song or rock song from today, demean white women or diss black people.
As for me, I listen to The Bert Show, (after I have dropped my child off at daycare in the morning). That my dear people, is an awsome Morning Talk Show. Real people, speaking intelligently with educated conversation, talking about real issues concerning ALL people. Never ever, will you hear any of them bashing blacks, whites, hispanics,latino, Asian, Indonesian etc etc. NEVER ! They do occasionally poke fun at the stupidity of some of their callers’ comments. However, they never degrade anyone! Finally, when my child is in the car with me, we listen to 104.7 The Fish, because “It’s safe for the whole family” or the jazz music on 107.5 WJZZ.
Lord help us all. I’ve been in Atlanta for 12 years. I’ve lived in both “nearly” segregated areas, as well as in extremely diverse areas. However, living here in Atlanta has by far been the absolute worse experience! I cannot wait until I can get my job transfer so I can move out of this hole! I don’t understand how so many people can allow themselves to be so closed minded, ingnorant or just out right stupid. How is it that 2009 is fast approaching, and yet so many people here are still in a “southern Civil War-like mentality”? I’ve seen and heard so much ignorance here in Atlanta…..it blows my mind. What will it take for people to strive to have a better life for themselves and for our children. African American ancestors fought long & hard, with years of sufferering and many losing thier lives. So that we could have the “Right” to an education and to a better life. Yet all I hear is broken english, misused grammar or worse: EDUCATED people who would rather “talk black” or “speak ebonics” than to be considered a “sell out”. ::YIKES::
Then there are a majority of our black men (not all) who will lay down with many women(regardless of the woman’s color) make a bunch babies with them, and then not stand up for their resposibilites, ::DEAD BEAT DADS:: Next, there are our beautiful black women, with nothing but filth coming out of their mouths, bashing our black men. Yes, I know there are many of them out there who aren’t worth a flip, but give them some motivation and encouragement…… You might just be surprised ! Also, beautiful black women: Why on earth don’t you take better pride & respect in the way you talk, look and act? There is nothing at all attractive or GODLY about a woman, who has a trashy mouth with uneducated words coming out of it, a stripper’s wardrobe or acting as though you have the “Nastiest B*tch of the Year Award”!

Read this right before I left to go out of town. Wow, a lot of comments. I’m 33 and I stopped listening to 107 after Ryan left, but since he moved to middays, I ended up with The Bert Show and I love it. They are not trying to be anyone else but themselves. When my niece is in the car, it’s Radio Disney. Most of the other time in the car, it’s my iPod. It sucks that they would put another syndicated show rather than try to find some raw Atlanta talent.

Gosh I can’t believe I’m just finding out about this. Even though my comment will be quite redundant, I have to voice my opinion. I did listen to the A-Team while I got ready for work, but only because I couldn’t stand Frank Ski and his cronies, especially “Miss” Sophia. From what I hear in the mornings, all radio shows SUCK! I’ll be using that time to listen to some gospel music of my choosing. I was always annoyed by Rashan’s know-it-all attitude. She got on my nerves. Searcy…..I just don’t think this was the kind of show for him. As far as Griff is concerned, I actually did like him. Oh well, I hope they all land on their feet and find more success elsewhere.

I for one am very sad to hear this news…Frank and Wonda have a great show but I feel its more for an older audience..The “A Team” kept me going the show was more fun and not so political…I was so excited for them when they landed the morning show and to see what they started from(as far as the morning show) and what they made it become was really impressive!!! CJ was smart to get out early!!! Searcy grew on me but the thing is we were not use to him being on there and neither was he..Sometimes you just have to adjust to change and do what you can to not disrupt flow and thats what I think he did!!! They all seem to have Great Personalities and they all are going to go very far beyond what they were doing!!! Everything happens for a reason..

Its funny, because I read several of the comments here, and can honestly say, There are some truly judgemental people in Atlanta. I wish all those of Hot 107.9 well in any future endeavors.
I do not listen to V103 and reduced my listening of 107.9 to the bare minimum because of the music. The repetitiveness of the songs and the quality of the music being played. However, keep in mind, the radio stations are going to play whats in demand, so know that someone is demanding the type of music. If you want a change in the music, demand a quality format. That will introduce a change in the type of music being made. But I digress.
You have to remember, for many of us as we get older, we should be maturing, that means our listening ear and what stimulates us should change and grow as well. Many responders to this news are not of the age group that appealed to the A-Team, so of course some will have extremely harsh critisim. However, it is amazing, that so many of you who claimed to hate the show, made sure you listened to win the contests and prizes and the chances to hear yourself on the radio (most sounding far worse than anything the DJs were saying or doing.)
You must understand, it doesnt matter where you are from, or where you are located, the music that dominates the area is what will be played the most. Just like most northern stations play northern artists, southern stations play southern artists.
How many of you ever wrote the station and asked for a better mix of the music? How many ever went to the station to see how things operated or asked questions about how the programming was set up? I am sure not many of you. You get what you are given when you dont voice what you want.
I too listen to a lot of talk radio simply because I am not into alot of the music that is being played today. But I can say, I personally can attest to alot of the good things the A-Team has done in the community. Maybe they were not the most polished voices on radio, but I can honestly say, I didnt have a problem with hearing about the single dad, or the loving mom. If it rubbed off on anyone in the listening audience, then thats one for the good guys.
The A-Team is not being replaced because of ratings, or baffonery as someone called it, but because Radio One is looking to cut costs. But, this is what they do what all radio stations, conglomerates, etc do. They look to save money. The cuts are across the board, not only with 107.9 but also with the 102.5 Prze….Its all about the bottom line.
Those who liked the morning show…let your voice be heard to save what you think is important to you and your community. Those who didnt like the morning show, I guess you are satisfied. But dont complain about something or people that are actively participating unless you are willing to truly support your beliefs. The personal attacks listed here are unbelieveable. I commend Griff for following his dreams and doing something he loved.. there are alot of folks here that dont have the courage to back away from the keyboard to do what they love, whether they are good at it or not.
To all of those (A-Team)effected by the pending changes, May the Lord Bless you real good. He and only He is the one to whom you have to answer.
Do I listen to V103, no..I have seen things and heard things 1st hand to know its not something I would ever support, but I will not bash anyone from behind a keyboard. If you are not happy with the existing state of black radio, do something about it..let your voice be heard that you demand quality radio, whether its informative shows or pure entertainment. No one likes to be belittled, maligned, or made to feel insignificant, so take care when doing that to others.

Man forget ALL yall haters who can’t accept change. The A Team joked some times, but what morning show doesn’t. I been listening to them for a decade and I’ve accepted all changes. Searcy, Rashan, Griff, Akini, and Beyonce brought a lot of knowledge to the younger generation, especially the teens that otherwise would have never been reached. I’m not looking forward to the change I think it crazy and that was the only time I listened because otherwise it 97.5 all the way. Stay strong A-Team and know that a real listener will miss you.

I love the variety in the ATL radio market. I listen to Bert, Frank&Wanda, Murph&CJ, Steve Harvey, AND the A-Team. If you hate them so much just change the station. But what is pouring salt on an open wound going to accomplish? I’m amazed that a show that gave off so much “positive energy” has spawned sooo many negative comments. Keep your head up A-Team. I am so very upset about no longer having the A-team on the air. I believe the station made a huge mistake. I really enjoyed everything the talked about in the mornings on my way to work. Especially the morning listener emails, they always talked about things that needed to be talking about and things that all of us out there were probably wondering about ourselves. I think that letting them go will really hurt the morning ratings. They had some of everyone listeng and calling in, from black to white, old and young. I really enjoyed and appreciated the Teen Talk Thursdays, I believe Teens today need to be heard from and people to really care about what the have to say about certain issues that are going on in their world, for they are our future and everyone needs to hear what they have to say!!!! I really loved the A-Team and they will truley be missed. Hot 107.9 will now have one less listener to WHAT ever is to come to the morning show!! This is just SAD!!

I thought this was a blog regarding the Ateam morning show dismissal. This has turned, political,racist,judgmental and any other description I might have missed. I happen to listen to both 107.9 and V103 and I can draw good and bad from both. Just because one station decided to go a different route doesn’t mean that every other station should follow. Are we now at the point where we would much rather have only comedian as radio hosts? It would be the same disaster. We need people to inform and promote any community. I think Frank Ski and Wanda do a good job. That is not to say they can’t improve we all could. There are issues that we all as people need to address. Radio & media are to inform and most media we receive is censored. But to receive any amount of informative info is great. Would we be better off with no radio? Before my time, but we didn’t always have radio.

Its crazy to really read how people feel about the whole situation. As critical human beings, we always focus on the negative parts of a situations instead of the positive. Their might have been alot of things that annoyed everyone, but instead of digging a deeper whole in time of need, we should encourage, as well as be grateful for what they have done in the last 3-4 years. They did alot for the community on the air as well as off the air and that is what matters most. Tv personalities have a huge impact on people everyday, and some are sad, including myself, that they are off the air, but we(as well as they) can say at the end of “atleast we were able to touched someones life, thats all that matters” We are worried about the wrong thing. People are glad they are off the air because one just didnt fit(so you say, disagree) or a annoying vioce(i loved it) or didnt know if she was ghetto or high class(she knew where she came from regardless of her status), but what about the people they touched? The little kids that looked up to them as role models? the families they helped out during holidays? or even when they tried to help a lady find her father? or how about the importance they put on registering to vote! I guess we all forgot about their good deeds they have done for the community, our city, our race. When will we learn to uplift instead of tearing down. I wish everyone from the A-team success and prosperity. I enjoyed the morning show every single day and gained knowledge on many subjects for the past 3 years. love you all and God bless

The bottom line is they failed. So what they Dawn they did community work. But a job is a job and when you don’t perform well their are consequences. Enough of the pity party. They were straight up awful. Rashan who lived a prefect life she never could relate to anybody story. At least Griff kept it real. Even though his jokes was DRY as hell. My Goodness!! I have learned alot from these blogs. I appreciate all of the racists comments because they are only fuel for our black people to wake up. I am a 29 year old wife and mother and I listened to their show and V-103 as well. I switch back and forth depending on the topic. True, that HOT could be very immature at times, but who isn’t? How much control did they really have over the music they play? If Lil Wayne just sold over 2Million records then guess what,,they’re going to play his songs over and over again! I am so sorry for all of them losing their jobs. Its’ unfortunate for anyone. What I have learned though is when you have a position to influence so so many people then USE IT. Someone is always listening or watching you when you’re in the public eye. I agree, I don’t want my daughters wanting a thug or licking a lollipop, so I don’t let them listen to it or buy the CDS. I am an adult though and if I choose to listen then so be it. It’s about communication with your children. Music is entertainment. It, just like television, can only influence your children and society if you allow it to. Oh well, I wish the best for the A-team and I pray that God will show V-103 what they really should be doing? Should I pray or cross-dress or are they teaching everyone to be lukewarm? The fact that some people think the show sucked or that Griff’s voice was annoying….PLEASE note that the reason the A-Team is no longer is because of Revenue. Companies “Downsize” all the time and I am pretty sure we ALL know someone that has been impacted because of it. That DOES NOT meet an individual didnt perform well…companies have to do what they feel is appropriate to contain cost and in THIS case we just happen to know these people because they are were on the radio each day. When you say ugly/negative things about people you block your blessings. I pray that GOD continues to show ALL of us favor because we could be find ourselves in the same situation.

Please, please get Frank off V-103 he is a straight know it all and a lame. Wanda and Ms. Sophia handle the show better with Ryan. Oh and please, please with a cherry on top get them off of T.V. Griff voice was annoying, Emperor Searcy was cool during his other shift, I hope he goes back to it. Rashan was okay, I felt like sometimes she would dumb herself down to fit in with the others, she was too smart for that. I hope they all find jobs. Please, please get Frank off V-103 he is a straight know it all and a lame. Wanda and Ms. Sophia handle the show better with Ryan. Oh and please, please with a cherry on top get them off of T.V. The show is whack show reruns of something else useful or funny not that crap!!!! Please tell Frank to get off Ryan’s balls, everyone is not meant to be on T.V.

All Atlanta radio stations are the absolute worst. relocating here from another major city only to find that this so-called HOTLANTA only has two major stations with FAKE DJs who spend more time trying to promote themselves and their wack events instead of catering to the needs of the listeners..I’m glad they made a change hopefully they put some TRUE DJs on the air and let the fukin music play and shut their fukin mouths.

Wow, it’s a doggone shame that all “us adults” have so much to say about the A-team being cancelled but guess what “us adults” aren’t the ones whose really going to miss the A-team. The teenage/high-school students who had some place to call in and let their voices be heard on Teen Talk Thursdays are the ones who will be mostly affected by this change. What other radio station do you know of that teens can call and talk about what’s bothering them? Why can’t we get it’s not about us? What is the problem? They were reaching out to some of the teenagers and based on the different Thursday topics that they had I believe they were doing a great job, I don’t know about you but they were doing a bunch of stuff with the youth. That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day. I’m an 80’s baby so I can really care less about some of the music that’s played and what not but I listened to their show in the morning because I believe they had “something to talk about”. It’s a shame that instead of supporting one of our own we’re steady tearing you down. When will we get the picture?

Griff - He cannot help how his voice sounds - like it or not. These people have to talk for at least four hours straight, they can’t possibly please everyone all the time. Good luck to him with his future endeavors.
Frank Ski - He’s trying to share what he knows and tries to help folks. If you don’t like his “talking and name-dropping”.. stop listening. You obviously know everything you need to know and no one can teach you anything new.
Ms. Sophia - A fictional character played by a person who is trying to entertain you. If you are offended, stop listening and stop taking it so seriously.
Come on people… There’s gotta be more to life than a morning radio show. These people are just trying to make a living like you are.

I loved everybody that was part of the A-Team. They were the best morning show. I was always laughing when I listened to them. I wish everyone all the best. A-Team keep doing what ya’ll love to do. The majority of these comments are really harsh. Like it or not it was a fairly new morning show still trying to find their footing. It is really hateful to be glad that somebody lost their jobs. Griff was a needed bit of humor in the morning and he sounds like a great dad and husband, though Rashan can be quite overwhelming. The real crime in morning radion is Frank Ski’s old behind trying to talk like he is a “hip” teenager and name-dropping all the time!!

I find it interesting that, after reading both the comments that praised and criticized the “A-Team”, there seem to be similarities between the two groups.
For example, those comments that praise the “A-Team” tend to be filled with spelling, grammatical, and word usage errors. They also tend to use excessive slang to convey their point. However, those comments that criticized the “A-Team” are almost the polar opposite.
Judging by the number of errors and amount of slang usage, one could say that it is almost as if those people that liked this morning show possess less intelligence than those who did not. Hmmm…interesting!

Hmmmmm, I find it interesting that the last comment criticizes those that praised the A team by focusing in on grammatical errors and slang being used, when in actuality, they are speaking in the vernacular that we have become accustomed to living in the metro Atlanta area. I am a well educated (possessing a BS in Accounting and an MBA in Management), married, Christian woman, holding down a financial management position with a large corporation worth $500 million and I LOVED THE A-TEAM!! The A-Team offered a break from the self righteous views of other shows, but still were able to talk about current events in a way that most of us will talk about in our homes or with our closest friends. Yes, Rashan is clearly intelligent and very well spoken. She is able to discuss current events, politics, religion, and the latest hip hop news in a single breath and represent female-dom ( yes, I realize this is a not a real word that can be located in the Webster Dictionary) to the highest standards. What better role model can you have for a young female than to show them you can still be “down” in the community and act like you have common sense?! Griff is 1st a man of God, and doesn’t think twice to let you know where he comes from and where he’s been, where he’s trying to go, and all while making you laugh. Sometimes, that’s what I need in the morning to get me going. I don’t need to be hammered with the seriousness of politics and opinions be hammered down my throat. I just wanna laugh. Griff actually reminds me of Ralph Waldo “Petey” Greene. He says the things that most people are too afraid to say, but you’re thinking it anyway. Bottom line, I will miss the A-Team, I miss them much success in their future endeavors, and all things work for the good of those who love the Lord! Peace and Blessings…

The thing that puzzles me the most is how soooo many people have so many negitive things to say about a morning radio show that they DON’T LIKE OR CARE TO LISTEN TOO…hence why say anything at all(I thought if you didn’t have anything good to say you weren’t suppose to say nothing at all).
Atlanta has numerous cultures, classes of people, and levels of entertainment. Don’t knock others because it is not YOUR taste. That is why god created us all different. You have to take the good with the bad. Yet, BEING DIIFERNT DOESN’T MAKE IT BAD. The Ateam was a way for the YOUNG people the be entertained…Rickey Smiley is cut from a simliar cloth so if that’s not your cup of tea. Don’t listen.
I only read some of the comments(it got to be to negitive). It seems to me that some poeple don’t realize that, if the descion to let the Ateam go was made, IT IS NOT BLACK OR WHITE…IT IS TOTALLY BASED ON GREEN. I don’t know how much the morning show DJ’s make but I can guareete it is cheaper the go with the Rickey Smiley show because it is sydicated and in the Radio One network.I wouldn’t wish losing their job on my worst enemy, therefore if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all. NO ONE should take THIER JOB for granted in the economy.

I think everyone thats hated the ATeam suck!! For real Ryan Cameron wasnt all that funny . He was at times funny, but many times his jokes came from downing other people. On many occassions he “chumped”(means picked on) his coworkers so hard where it became rude and offensive and who wants to hear that in the morning. He was the one that was arrogant. NOw for the A-team they were real. Get real people no one is going to be perfect. They related and GRIFF was funny as He@@. Rashon was sophisticated at times but switched it with the ATL swag. COme on if you from here that’s our personality, we are educated but if you from a black school come one we got the ghetto in us to; so basically we are real folks that can cope so STOP HATING ON RASHAN. Now I dont know what Akini or Beyonce contributed but I do think Rashan and Griff were a good blend for the morning. Now I have nothing to listen to which means its back to the IPOD. Rickey Smiley you funny during standup but dont do that laugh all day you sound like a sick hyenna, which is annoying. People you can continue to hate on the ATEAM but this gave teenagers a place to call in the morning on Thursday to voice how they feel which no one can ever know how that might have changed certain lives. Although that may not be my choice to hear that on Thursday, I can respect it because it was doing positive things. Now we are going to have to hear someone from a different location not relating to whats going on in our city. I just foumd out about the A-team morning show a couple of days ago thru a friend who read this article. I really stopped listening to the A-team. I did give them a chance but I couldn’t take it. I think that the show was very juvenile. That rap song they did everyday was - awful. I felt embarrassed for my people. I must admit that I agree with what was said about Griff’s voice and know it all attitude. He may help the community (I don’t know) but he needs a voice coach and an english class. Rashan Ali, puhleese - I didn’t even like her as Ryan’s sidekick. Those of you who said something about teen talk Thursday being beneficial. Talk to your child to find out what they are thinking and what is going on in their life. Speaking of teens, once I heard the Durty Boyz with “you just got let go,” and I think that they are promoting violence and division in the community with that mess that they allow the kids to say. Think about it. I listen to Praise 97.5 in the mornings because I need some inspiration in the mornings. I don’t want to listen to sex songs in the morning - when did radio get so vulgar??? Plies with that song lyric “wet wet” ewwww. Bring back “Mike Roberts (& Carol Blackmon) in the Morning” yeah.lol

In this day and age its sad to see them lose their jobs. These people will be replaced by 1 person. Were in a world now where in no time there will be one radio host for the whole world to listen to syndicating from NY or something. And we wont have no other choices to listen to. Yes the hot day rhyme was horrible and kiddish, but adjustments could have been made to save the show before they were replaced. I think their failure comes from acting like children. People who listen to the radio in the morning are adults getting ready for work or children getting ready for school. They seemed like they were aiming for the children rather then the adults. V103 aims at the adults.Rickey Smiley is not the type of person you want to replace people with if your are truly trying to cater to adults. Only a child would like to wake up to crank calls and church jokes.

I am gonna miss the A-Team even though Griff could be a little anoying at times I will miss him to,butI am glad to hear that Rachaid and Sercy will still be on the air.I gonna miss the way I use to laugh off of them on my way to work.I am not sure about this Rickey Smiley thing but I hope it works for Hot. I really enjoyed the morning show!! It was so serious that it go to the point were my husband was not even allowed to change the station. I wish the A-Team the best of luck- they were always #1 to me!! As for all the negative comments….. The A-Team will be fine, they will continue to be positive and lead successful lives- even Griff!!
Whoever listens to V-103, is a fool!! How in the world can you listen to the sheman say, “VVVVV-1110000000033333333333?!?!” That is nasty and why do you even promote such foolishness?? So dont be surprised when your son starts doing the same thing!!

I never knew that sooooo many people hated this show. Honestly I did and still do prefer Frank and Wanda but I did listen to them occationally. I was very shock to hear that the A team was not on the radio anymore. I had to google to see if it was ture. I can’t believe the blogs I’m reading. In this economy I don’t really care how bad either one of the morning shows sound. Everybody needs a job right now. If you all where in there shoes you wouldn’t have a comment. Both morning shows talked about the election which is the most important right now. The young people need to hear it on 107.9 or V103. I like to listen to both. I like the fact that both radio stations allowed the morning shows to talk about their votes. Radio stations don’t need to change. The world needs to CHANGE. Obama/Biden 2008

I am glad to see the show gone. I listened to it for about 3 months when I first moved here and became increasingly annoyed with it. I agree that Griff’s voice was annoying along with his attitude a lot of the time, as well as Rashaun Ali. I couldnt tell if she was 15 or 30. She often registered to me as a spoiled brat, which is not cute when you’re grown. Searcy was grown and sexy and had the best radio voice of the group but definately seemed too mature to be fooled up with the crew. I wish them all well, but I’m definately more likely to listen to 107.9 in the A.M. now that they are gone.

After reading these comments, I’m shocked there was so much negative feelings twd the ATeam. I was bummed after Ryan but I came to love the ATeam more than the Poodah rants.

Well, I’m sorry that people lost their jobs and I know better things are always around the corner. Sometimes your forced to get to the corner in unfortunate ways. As for the show..IT SUCKED..I’m a radio channel surfer and each time I have tuned in I didn’t stay long because there was no substance..

I thought Rashan Ali was o.k. I could have dealy with her and Akini and Beyonce’. But when they put Griff on the show that ruined it for me. He’s just simply not funny and his ability to always give his insulting opinion was nerve wracking. Frank Ski is a know it all that half the time doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Wanda is intolerable. Sophia was funny, until I found out she is a guy, now I think it has a mental problem.

Wow now I know its true. I remember the days when I used to love listening to Hot107 in the morning. But in the past year I started to shift towards V103. Ive been listening to v103 for the past months but occasionaly tune to hot107. Its sad to see them go but Searcy and Reshan Ali were the only ones I loved to listen to.

I hate the New Rickey Smiley show it sounds like an old peoples show now and the way they say these nuts is really immature. I dont even turn the radio on in the morning anymore. I ride with my IPOD all the time now. Before I use to wake up ready to hear the A team. Please radio station bring them back in the morning. They would turn a bad morning into a great morning.

The A Team was definately at it’s best when Rashan was in charge and we all got laughs off Akini and Griff’s daily teasing of each other’s outfits, weekend mishaps, etc. Something was missing when Sercy joined. I didn’t feel the love between he and the others. But was the answer to get rid of them NO! I am really mad about it and I just can’t listen to that Rickey Smiley and his use of the way outdated phrase Deez Nuts. Now that is juvenile.
