12/30: “Bachelorette” DeAnna Pappas joins local “Get Married” show as host
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
“The Bachelorette” DeAnna Pappas, after two stints on two ABC reality shows, has found herself a new TV gig. Starting January 5, she’s going to be a host on the marriage advice and lifestyle show “Get Married,” seen on the Lifetime Network at 7:30 a.m. each day.
“She’s going to be the bride’s ultimate best friend,” said Stacie Francombe, the owner of “Get Married,” which is based in Atlanta. Although Pappas isn’t married (and recently broke off her engagement to Jesse Csincsak), Francombe said she knows the topic well. “She’s the girl next door,” Francombe said. “She has a tremendous following. We like that. Brides are intrigued by her.” Pappas also has the advantage of being local. (Until now, she had been known as a real estate agent from Newnan.)
Pappas takes over for Jessica Campbell, who left for Los Angeles to pursue acting.
“Get Married” also has replaced David Tutera with Colin Cowie as a host. Cowie is a 46-year-old New York lifestyle guru and party planner to the stars. He’s a frequent guest on Oprah Winfrey’s show and has designed parties for the likes of Jerry Seinfeld and Sir Elton John. Francombe said Cowie is a bigger name than Tutera.
I’m going to meet both of them face to face in the next couple of weeks since they’ll be taping more shows at the new headquarters for “Get Married.”

Francombe noted that her company has grown from 4 to 40 people in just two years. A year ago, she moved from a tiny office in Midtown to a current 7,000 square feet space. But they quickly outgrew that one and are moving to a 18,000 square foot space at DeKalb Technology Park off Chamblee Tucker. “We are not moving again,” she said.

Wait, did I get this right. Pappas who is not married, has no basis or experience in the subject whatsoever will be giving marriage counseling/advice to actual couples that will be getting married? You got to be kidding me right! She may be goodlookig or even cute and will bring in audiences to watch the show at least once. The advice should be given by professionals, not some hollywood wannabe.

She seemed like a nut case to me, really didn’t know what she wanted. I don’t think she’s capable of handing out advice.

DeAnna is definitely cute. Apparently it seems that’s the only qualification that matters when it comes to handing out gigs like this.

Deanna is, with out a doubt, physically beautiful. However, this asset hardly makes her qualified to give marriage advice. Based on the way she treated her fiance, Jesse Csincsak, she is just plain unqualified for a job to dole on marriage advice.
I watched the Bachlorette and became smitten with she and Jesse. They seemed very much in love and Jesse was different in a very charming sort of way. Publicly, he was always loving and respectful of her. This was not reciprocated by Deanna.
I followed them and was very dissapointed with Deanna’s rude, disrespectful and derisive behavior towards him in public. These are not traits that will make a good or even mediocre marriage. In fact, they destroy marriages.
I wish her no harm and these parts of her character will serve her well in Hollywood. I just hope that the people she is giving advice to, are not harmed.

I, for one, like the fact that she is the host of show. She’s real, and people can relate to her because of her experiences. I am so tired of weddings being a fake portrayal of perfection and life that is expected to be.
Let’s be honest- nothing is perfect, neither is marriage or the act of getting married. At least Get Married is accepting that we are all human- and at least DeDe has the guts to call it off- whereas many people would not have due to the media and people like us bashing them for their decisions.
Let me play devils advocate for a moment and say: “Do we know how her and Jesse were together after the glamour, fancy beach trips, etc were washed away by the reality of a long distance relationship?” Nope, I can only imagine how difficult that adjustment would…but then again, that’s why I did not apply to be on a reality show to find “fake” love…
Besides, she is the co-host of the show- she is still letting the “wedding professionals” do their job - which is inform brides-to-be the latest in the industry- She, herself, is just like every other girl and guy, for that matter…looking to find someone who they can connect with in this crazy world.

She is definitely not like the ‘girl next door.’ She is so fake. She let the show get to her head… and she forced the snowboarder to propose to her. She just wanted to “get married” so badly but I never believed that she was actually in love with Jesse (which is well proven by the way she’s swept the guy under the rug like he never existed). She just wanted to show off the ring for a few months!…. why would anyone want to take advice from someone like that?!?!?

Jesse had a girlfriend, this is not new nor condeming news to anyone. What type of a relationship could that have been? No woman in her right mind would let someone like Jesse go on a show with the possibility of losing him to Deanna. As long as you are trying to smear Jesse, the woman he was supposedly dating allegedly left her husband for Jesse. This does not make her an angel. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

Have you seen the show? It’s horrible. Like one big commercial that comes on at the crack of dawn. Won’t be watching again. Deanna is about as good at hosting as she is at relationships…which is horrible.
