Is Madonna Hall of Fame worthy?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Longtime Boston Globe music critic Steve Morse, who was a member of the Rock Hall of Fame’s nominating committee for seven years, says he considers Madonna’s induction into the hall this coming Monday an embarrassment. “If you think of rock ‘n’ roll, Madonna is not the first name that comes to mind,” he says.

Would you miss the Grammys or Oscars?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Thanks to the writers strike and the subsequent cancellation of the Golden Globes traditional awards show, the SAG Awards gave us the first televised red carpet and gala of the year on Sunday. But the strike is still looming over the Grammys, which are set for Feb. 10, and the Oscars, which are scheduled for Feb. 24.

Miss California’s musical crowns
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
There’s a new Miss California - again.
Miss California USA organizers say they have corrected a voting snafu that gave the title to the wrong contestant, Christina Silva. Critics claim the switch is less about a vote tabulation error and more about Silva’s Ecuadoran and Mexican heritage.
The “new new ” Miss California is Raquel Beezley, a 21-year-old waitress.
Silva, however, got to keep her crown, the sash, the necklace and received her $1,500 entry fee back.
Did pageant officials handle this appropriately? Should Silva have relinquished her title?

Can Hannah Montana sing?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
