Introducing Bella!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Bella is a 26-year-old daddy’s girl who has settled in Atlanta after living all over the east coast. When she’s not scouring the dating field, she’s throwing large dinner parties, jogging with her Labrador, or obsessing over things that are pink and sparkly. She also loves dancing until the wee hours of the morning and is determined to eat at every brunch place in Atlanta.

What’s the strangest thing a date has ever said to you? I can’t remember anyone saying anything strange, but once my date ate his corsage!
What’s your guiltiest pleasure? Incredibly large ice cream sundaes
What’s your karaoke specialty? lots of old rock, but “Hit me with your best shot” never fails me
Are you a morning person or night owl? night owl, even though I get up early.
Do you prefer the mountains or the beach? beach!
What’s one thing you would change about Atlanta? I would create a more “walkable” nightlife area! In fact, I would make all of Atlanta more pedestrian-friendly.
What’s your pettiest relationship deal-breaker? if you’re not six feet tall, I’m not dating you. Period.

Where you’ll find me on a Friday night: I may be at home or I may be out at dinner with friends or a date. It all depends on how I feel.
Something that annoys me…When people don’t let me in when you’re trying to merge on the highway or don’t turn on their turn signals. In men…when there is inconsistency between their actions and words.
In dating, I believe that…the dating scene would be better if people were just straight up with their intentions and treat others the way they want to be treated.

Do you prefer the mountains or the beach? The beach. I can be a little prissy sometimes. So, I can’t see myself roughing it in the mountains for more than a day or two. That is…unless I’m in the company of a strong gentleman who will keep me safe and make sure I’m comfortable:-)

Something that annoys me: Ugly behavior. Some people seem to get off on being nasty, belittling other people for little or no reason.
In dating, I believe that…. Honesty is the best policy.

Are you a morning person or night owl? Both. I can stay up most of the night, but I’ll still hit the floor running at 6.
Do you prefer the mountains or the beach? I like them both. Apples/oranges, mountains/beach.
What’s one thing you would change about Atlanta? You can’t change anything about Atlanta! Now, there’s plenty of bad stuff about the place, but plenty of good stuff too. Why change it? It is what it is.
What’s your pettiest relationship deal-breaker? I can’t think of anything like that… if there’s something superficial that is unappealing, I’ll probably not even do a first date.
Pizza or sushi? I don’t eat much pizza, but I don’t eat much sushi either. Meat and potatos, mostly.

T-Mango I’ve never been to Helen but I have rented out a cabin up in Gatlinburg, Tn. It was one of the best times I’ve ever had. And out cabin was literally up in the mountains. It was so funny when we first got there because when we pulled up to the cabin there was this wolf looking creature just standing there watching us. Us City Slickers didn’t know if it was one of those Alaskan Husky dogs or an actual Wolf. We all counted to 3 then ran inside. LOL!!! I actually planned the trip for me and a group of friends. Out cabin slept about 16 people. We also had a hot tub on the deck which was extra nice after coming back from White Water Rafting in freezing water temperatures…but fun nonetheless.

T-Mango the first time I ever went was with the Nature Guy. I was kind of like you…couldn’t really see myself doing the mountains. But I was glad I went. It was one of the best weekend getaways I had had in a long time. Every since then I have been a fan. I prefer sitting by the lake rather than the beach. The night air is the best. Laying in bed listening to things go bump in the night…I’m looking forward ‘til the next time I go.
If I am taking my kids somewhere then a beach is the way to go. They have mega fun at the beach but I can do without the all the people trampling by and the sand in undesirable places.
We gave my oldest a choice to go anywhere this summer before he goes off to college and the boy chose Florida. What an idiot. We gave him a blank check option to go anywhere and that’s all he could come up with because he wants to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure again and then do 3 days at the beach.

There’s not much to see in Toccoa, unless you’d be interested in visiting Curahee, something of a WW II interest in the 506th PIR, Easy Company, Band of Brothers and all that. I’ve read about some supposed ghost sitings in the old downtown area, something about a dead lawyer as I recall.

Jewel 100% Beaches, mountains, Big Canoe (not far but a great little getaway for you and that someone special) lakes, trails, biltmore, cherokee (gambling) tenn aquarium, panama city, savannah, hilton head, Alabama(wtf is in Alabama? scratch that) Reynolds Plantation (has anyone been there? nice) Allatoona, Helen, the list goes on. Never been to Tocco.

Truth In Shorter, AL there’s a casino……Harrahs Triple 7’s, I think……about 2 hrs from Atl. His brother had been sick, and died suddenly. Funeralized/buried…pretty much the same thing except funeralized could mean service w/o burial (like in a cremation)….I don’t know which is accurate here.

Gatlinburg area, or Townsend, are great for mountain weekend getaways. Gatlinburg is awfully touristy, but you can get away from that pretty easily. Townsend has a lot more in the way of horseback riding, but the big spot in the mountain stream where everyone swims can get pretty crowded. I know some secluded spots closer to Gatlinburg where the locals will gather and skinny dip. A cold mountain stream in the middle of July will make your tipples nurgid.
Helen is nice for weekends too, but watch out for snakes in the lake, they get pretty thick. I need to get up to Helen just for some boiled peanuts, can’t find a peanut stand ‘round here anymore. Tubing is a nice waste of a couple hours.

We gave my oldest a choice to go anywhere this summer before he goes off to college and the boy chose Florida. What an idiot. We gave him a blank check option to go anywhere and that’s all he could come up with because he wants to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure again and then do 3 days at the beach.

Hey Jewel. All is well in my neck of the woods. Yes my son did have a procedure but he is doing better the okay. In fact he is turning into the average teenage boy knucklehead. But anyway…
As far as weekend getaway spots I usually just like to go somewhere that I can relax in a nice atmosphere. If I am only going for a weekend I am not looking to do or see much of anything. In fact my goal is to not see and do as much as possible.
There are some nice bed and breakfast spots in Georgia. Last year we went to one in Thomasville and had our own cottage away from the main quarters. Very nice despite the long drive.

Alvin please don’t remind me. My brother did me a favor and got him setup with a job and what was suppose to be a one bedroom apartment. I have agreed to pay a percentage for his living arrangements and the rest he has to be a man about. Behind my back he changed to a 2 b/r and for what? He will not have a roommate as of yet. Why the extra room? His answer “so the baby can have his own room when I get him on some weekends”. Who does he think he is fooling ‘cause I am not the one. The Truth I stays for two weeks two years ago…I am not going to go into details, but I will say…Never in my life have I felt so good to be black and chocolate. I do not have to pay for my pleasures 75% of the time…if I did, it’s because I had to have that chick.

After hearing all the hype about Jekyll/Simon Islands I visited it and I was not impressed. The beaches were’nt all that great and those flying bugs was everywhere. My dream vacation is Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

jraw I’ve never been to the Houston’s here but I can say this is the birthplace of the Pappas restaurants (Pappadeux, Pappasitos, Pappas BBQ, Pappas Seafood). I’m glad one of us likes Houston, LOL. My main beef with H-town is the smoking! Atlanta’s non-smoking atmosphere spoiled me.
