Halloween: Hook-up Holiday

You managed to get through all those hot summer nights alone. Fall is here and you are ready to mingle and meet someone. Halloween is the perfect excuse to play that mysterious stranger. You could meet someone new and flirt shamelessly as “your alter ego” or you may prefer to get out there as your wonderful self. The point is to get out of the house and have fun! Wearing a great costume provides the perfect ice-breakers.

I have been approached by Austin Powers: “Do I make you horny, baby?” (Yeah, he got the digits, he was cute!); another guy dressed as “Dr. McSteamy offered to give me a physical. It was a crazy night, but I have to say that I laughed the entire time!

How are you planning to celebrate the hook-up holiday? It’s the single person’s “Valentine’s Day”, so the options are endless. Are you going to a party? What will you wear? Have you ever had a Halloween Hook Up (flirting, number exchanges, kissing, etc.) that sparked a new romance? It’s always so fun to watch adults run around living out their fantasies. Do you think your costume says a lot about your personality, taste, or style?

Whatever plans you have this weekend, please be careful! Happy Friday!

HAPPY FREAKY FRIDAY ALL—BOOOOOO

I have no plans for the Halloween Holiday…so no playing dress up for me; Unless I get bored and dress up for my kitty.

Never had a halloween hookup. Your costume may or may not say a lot about your personality. A costume could’ve very well just been a suggestion by a friend.

I packed up all momentos, pictures etc from my past relationship and put them in the closet. No need to have little reminders laying around of that failed relationship;.

In the last few years, Halloween has become the “I’m really a slutty chick, but I want you to respect me” holiday.

The time where women feel more comfortable than any day wearing the most revealing outfits because it’s “fun”.

As far as hookups and ex’s, I’m trying to avert either circumstance, so I’ll be spending my Halloween around a relative group of strangers. If you see a big guy in the corner with no costume on….it’s probably me.

Well, I have business to attend to this weekend, so I will not be able to celebrate Halloween, which used to be my favorite “holiday.” So what I’m most looking forward to this year is staying home on Halloween night and passing out candy to trick or treaters. This is my first Halloween in my new house, so I’m excited about all the firsts that will happen there!

This time last year, I had bought my baby the cutest costume for halloween even though his father was trying to be anit-halloween. After seeing his child in his costume his heart softened and we took baby boy trick-or-treating at family members houses only..fast forward to this year and now we are being anti-halloween again. (sigh) I digress

Anyhoo….I wont be dressing up this year though I would like to! I think its so cute though to see the kiddies all dressed up and going around getting their candy! As for the hooking up….I am just taking everything one day at a time and doing whatever I choose! If I want to date, I will, if not I wont. But if Jake comes along I am in there for sure!! (LOL..kisses to Jake the Handyman)

Hello all and happy friday! Hugs to the MLB and mimosas to the WLB!

Halloween is a hookup holiday? You learn something new everday…

Well, with all of the weeding through folks that seems to occur in dating to separate who’s real vs. who’s not I’m surprised that this is a hookup holiday.

You mean a grown a* masked man dressed as Batman with a voicebox attached to his side doing the “souljah boy”(sp?)at a costume party could be a potential hookup for me?* Hmmmm. LMAO.

Have a safe, fun weekend.

Good morning everyone. Had to laugh at SlimOne w/I always wanted to be Catwoman but I don’t think a baggy catsuit on a skinny chick would be a good look…looking like a stray. That made me spit out my tea. Thanks for the early laugh.

Off topic, a few months back my daughter’s class had to write an essay on someone they admired. Had to recite in class yesterday. She said she got a standing ovation. On our way to Wal-mart I asked who she wrote about. To my surprise, she wrote about ME. The things she said had me cheesing all the way to Wal-mart. They do pay attention!

On-topic I’ve dressed up for Halloween once as Dianna Ross and won $50.00. Thinking about doing Tina Turner this year.

I must say I love Halloween…I get to dress up in costume and no one will think I’m nuts. Not when I do that during the rest of the year I gets strange looks. But I don’t care. I learned not to care what others think as a kid who got the nickname Tinkerbell because I would always put on my ballet tutus all the time. My mom just let me wear them to apease me. I think that is why I love to act and how I got into theater because I can dress up and be other people. So this weekend, I have a few costumes I can choose from.

Slim a baggy Catsuit..you are a complete nut girl!

Hey if you really want to get rid of the momentos of the ex…I say burn them…oh wair…we have no water. Nevermind! LOL

Tina aka Anna May bka Sexyleggs do that thang girl!!

Good morning Everyone!

According to the AJC, the Top 10 all time scariest movies are:

The Exorcist

The Shining

Suspiria

Carrie

Rosemary’s Baby

Jaws

Alien

Frankenstein

Bride of Frankenstein

Psycho

Does anyone agree with this list? Can you think of others? Does anyone on here remember Abby? It was the Black version of The Exorcist. I will admit, I am chicken when it comes to scary movies…the only scary movie I cared to watch is Scary Movie—-with the Winan brothers! LOL!

I got confess: Halloween is not my fort

Off topic (parenting) - Weeks ago, I visited a couple for what was supposed to be a short stay. Their 11 yrs daughter was simultaneously watching TV and reading some teen magazine (with Montana on the cover). I chatted with her about music and pop culture but when I asked about school, the excitement vanished and all I could read on her face was uncertainty. When she confessed that she is not that good in school, I offered to help with her homework and she jumped on it. After two hours, she finally solved every problem on her math homework …….. afterward the excitement on her face was so rewarding.

School teen’s competition is about looks, friends, athletics and grade; with extreme peers’ pressure, the lack of any those factors can be a tragic source of low self-confidence. This little girl needs someone to validate her, to encourage her and care about her school work. She is smart but the lack of school guidance is a major obstacle to the development of her intellectual abilities and conceivably her self confidence. The sad part is that the couple is totally unaware of the girl’s needs

ARed…LOL..Ok, I stand corrected. Amazon doesn’t have to mean thick or brickhouse all the time. It does represent tall as well..still laughing!

Staceye we had blow dryers w/us at work, deodorant, etc. We all kept a change of clothes at work just in case. Hey, dancing to house music non-stop can leave a person pretty funky. We would dance that hard for that one hour.

Hi All (in for a day) @ Jewel

I pretty much agree with the AJC but have to admit that I got tickled in The Exorcist when Linda Blair was jumping up and down on the bed and her neck was turning around and started laughing my azz off. After that it just got funnier and funnier until the very end and when the priest went out the window I about (well you know). Made everyone in the theater mad but I thought it was hilarious. The Birds scared me as a kid (by the way, I saw where they are remaking it next year), and Alien scared the crap out of me…it went places no movie had gone before at that time.

Got to run, but wanted to say hi.

Blogsville: I bring glad tidings.

There is a website:

www.pandora.com

that allows you to program songs only you want to hear. And the best thing is the songs are generated by style.

So if in the morning, you’re feeling some Goodie Mob (be careful becuase the site is unedited) and in the afternoon, when that -itis hits you feeling some Luther or Al…you can have different stations for different moods.

I listen to it every chance I get and man, it’s a hot concept and hot station. Check it out at that link!

SexyLeggs, SexyCool - I did not have to worry about the level of interaction because both parents were there with me. I realized that parenting is even harder that what it appears to be (Hat off to all good parents). I don’t consider myself kid-oriented but it was clear to me that she needed regular after school tutoring. I compare continuous poor school grades to continuous negative criticism; both can make a child feel incompetent, unable to measure up to the rest.

They say that one day I’m going down and not getting up. I was at a going away gathering for a friend a few weeks back and a few there just found out my age. I dropped it like it was hot during one dance # and one girl said out loud “Damn girl, you didn’t even buckle.” I smiled and said oh so sweetly, “Don’t Hate.” She ^5’d me.

Wise Diva Your question reminded me of Staceye’s earlier question… Anyone believe in ghosts? Do you have your own story to tell about an encounter?

Okay. Let’s keep this a blog secret…

When we moved into our home, my grandmother would say that the house was haunted. Everybody agreed, including my mother, sister, brother and stepfather, who was from Mississippi. But not me. I was about 16 at the time and had the “I ain’t ‘fraid of no ghost” attitude. LOL! Well, one morning, I woke up before anyone else and was on my way to the kitchen. It was a ranch-style house, so the livingroom was directly across from the kitchen. I was about to go into the kitchen when I looked towards the livingroom and saw this white shape on the sofa. My large eyes widened and I ran down the hall screaming, “A ghost! A ghost is in the livingroom!!!” Woke up the entire family. My mother got her shotgun. I guess she didn’t know that bullets went straight through ghosts. My 6’ 3”, Army sergeant stepfather followed behind her. She turned the light on to find…a sheet laying across the sofa, the top of it rested on the curtains. In the early morning shadows, it really, really looked like a ghost (that I didn’t believe existed). LOL! I don’t remember how it got there. I think my sister left it on the sofa the night before. Of course, everybody laughed at me.

Wise, I believe there are spirits amongst us. This may sound strange, but you know how your in a rooom and you think you saw something pass by the door but you know you’re the only one home. I believe a little spirit just went by. Out of your peripheral vision you think you saw something, but nothing’s there. You saw a spirit.

Do you have your own story to tell about an encounter?

My grandmother passed back in 2000. I was who she called her “special” grandchild. I was very, very upset. Since she died back home, I wasn’t able to see her in the hospital. The night she died, my boyfriend was with me here and I told him specifically “I need to sleep on the other side of the bed so that she will not be confused if she comes through the door. She’ll need to see me first”. Surprisingly, he wasn’t all that bothered by my request and understood immediately, I guess because I was so matter of fact with it.

I did see her that night, but she didn’t tell me anything. I can’t describe it. But I was so much more at peace afterward; it wasn’t scary at all, it just WAS. I told my sister and she was disappointed that she didn’t come to see her too, but she ended up seeing more of her in dreams, where she did get to ask her some questions.
