Spring in the City
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
What a gorgeous weekend we just had! It was perfect Atlanta weather: not a cloud in the sky, no humidity, perfect temps. I made sure to get out and mingle as much as possible. Just about every restaurant patio was filled with patrons soaking up the sun, including me.
Spring fever is definitely heating up the dating scene. The ladies are showing off their assets gained from all the time spent in the gym; the guys are strutting around, looking extra casual and good enough to eat. It’s a great time of year to be single and looking!
Spring is also what I like to call “recycling the ex” season or in my case, the Boomerang Boyfriend time of year. It never fails, every spring, I have an ex-boyfriend resurfacing out of nowhere. They start with forwarding emails (probably to see if the account is still active), then they move to text messaging (to see how annoyed you are), and finally it’s the old “running into you” in your regular hang outs. Transparent much?
Have you ever had a spring fling with your ex? Did you regret it?
Do your exes, former flings, and/or booty calls come out of the woodwork this time of year? If you aren’t interested, what do you use as your ex-repellent? What does it really mean when they keep coming back?
How was your weekend? Any hot dates, serendipitous encounters, or potential romances brewing?
Where do you plan to spend your spring? Where do you go to meet people with similar interests as you? Where do the single people go!!
I took up tennis for the first time this weekend, and I am totally hooked! What activities are you looking forward to doing in the city this spring?

Do your exes, former flings, and/or booty calls come out of the woodwork this time of year?
Yes. Someone will pop up like a bad penny it never fails.
If you aren’t interested, what do you use as your ex-repellent?
Just say I am flattered that you thought of me- but No thank you.
What does it really mean when they keep coming back?
Hmmm lets see, it was good, boredom, it was really good, lonely, Did I mention it was really really good? I joke..maybe anywhoo..I had one guy tell me he missed our debates.
This spring I will be camping with the boy, volunteering and attending a few Wednesday Winddowns. As we roll into summer there is family reunion, more camping, and volunteering, and a few road trips. Gas prices ughh!!

i was about to say ‘no’ but then i remembered a friday IM from a dude i dated almost 8 years ago.
his dumb behind decided then that he couldn’t commit to me then so i ended it. he’s been trying to get back in ever since.
keep in mind that by “commit” i meant “stop sleeping with me and his ex.” silly me, i assumed that when he told me he had an ex that he wasn’t still effin her. and do you know his bama a** got all indignant because she was ‘acting crazy’?
===
as for romance brewing? not for moi. i’ve given up on trying to find love — or at least a date — in atlanta. i’m now hatching a 3-5 year Escape From Atlanta plan. i would leave sooner, but i bought a house last year under duress (break-up with a live-in + some serious mama guilt).

I have noticed in my 2 years in Atlanta that when the pollen hits, that is the first sign that the dating game is about to pick up. The thing about the Atlanta dating scene is that you have to put yourself in the position to succeed. No one is going to knock on your door and say, hear you were single, so get out there!
Where do you plan to spend your spring? Where do you go to meet people with similar interests as you? Where do the single people go!!
I hope to get in a little traveling, but not start any long distance relationships. We already have plenty of talent in Atlanta! Where I have meeting people lately is just things off the beaten path, just network with people and try new stuff. The single people I have been meeting lately have been at events and networking mixers.

Morning everyone! It was a fab weekend. I actually spent it in Los Angeles. Went to a wedding full of doctors and there were only like 4 single guys. None of them cute. LOL. Did meet a cutie out on the town Friday night.
Great topic today WiseDiva. I do hear from an ex around this time and one of them is taking me to dinner this weekend. I let 6 months go by before taking his calls. In that time I reviewed our relationship and determined if he really committed any gregious errors or if he simply took me for granted. Turned out it’s the latter. So he wants to “talk” and I’ll allow it and go from there…
Activities I’m going for this spring: more pole dancing, tennis, and golf. I also want to spend more time outdoors, probably just sitting on patios during brunch and happy hour. LOL

I’m ready for the spring! Ready to get my rear end out there and meet women. I had the Binford-mini-makeover! recently and well, I maxxed out. If a lady doesn’t love me now - I’m investing in cats and trips to Reno and Amsterdam.
If an ex calls, it’s usually just for a hook up. Worst case, they call with the “I was stupid” spiel and I confirm that yes, in fact, they are stupid. Friends need that affirmance.
Need to figure out where those lovely ladies congregate - rest assured I will be there ….”how YOU doin!”

This year I will be doing some major spring cleaning. That will include completing the downsizing of my wardrobe which my friends girls have agreed to pitch in and go thru their stuff and we will take the clothing to some women shelters.
We are also planning a yard sale challenge to see who can raise the most money from “stuff” we already own. The total of all the funds will be given to charity.
This spring cleaning will also consist of getting rid of some negative dead weight in my life. I am going to wash my hands of this particular person and not look back. And should any other arrive I will do the same for them.
We are going to plant some trees in my b-i-l subdivision this coming weekend in honor of Earth Day.
My sistah friends and I are planning to go see Alice Walker.
I have one more wedding to attend this month. A lingerie party. A recital. And a masquerade birthday party. A freakin masquerade party. The theme is “The Wild”.

Good Morning everybody!
To me, spring and summer are the best seasons of all. The sun is where my most positive energy, and good feelings come from!
I plan on spending as much time as possible doing all the things I love like playing badminton and throwing the frisbee in the park, swimming, bike riding and of course people watching out on the patio at some of the local watering holes.
I am also very passionate about traveling, so far I have 3 exciting travel adventures already set up and looking forward to lining up more! My motto is, “have passport, will travel!”
As far as rekindling an old flames, that probably won’t be happening. Of the two men I’ve had in my life in the past 17 years, ex-hubby has remarried and we are good friends happily co-parenting our daughter. Then there is ex-fiance, who still very unhappy with me about ending the relationship so I doubt I’m on his list.
Anyway, life is good and the weather is great so I’m looking forward to a glorious spring hopefully full of new adventures!

Staceye I rode with a club when I first started riding but now I just really do it by my lonesome. Me and my ex husband use to ride together. I really enjoy the camaraderie of the club thing but the women either are jealous of you because of the men and the men are jealous of you because of the women. I was the talk of the club. I hated it. Everytime I turned around my name was coming out of one of the members mouth. It got to be ridiculous. But the messed up part was that I didn’t phuck anybody.

My mother would always plant tulips to bloom around Easter. I think when I leave work today I will go by David’s Flower and a dozen or so to sit on the kitchen counter. I am kinda missing her right now.
Staceye when I was growing up my dad would not allow us to participate in Halloween activities. I use to sit and look out window watching all of my friends run up and down the street in their costumes. Now I get my chance LOL. The Man wants to go as the leopard and her trainer. I sketched up a pretty nice leopard top and bottom. The will be a halter top that stops right below my rib cage and the bottom a boy-short cut design. A pair of extra sheer hose and yeah possibly some thigh high boots. May as well go all the way.

Highly doubtful that the Bunny Ranch would get old. Though my goal is a relationship/family - the nookie never gets old. Never heard a guy who says he gets too much!

Morning Folks!
It was a nice weekend in Houston too. I actually got outside and did some yardwork instead of having my lawnguy do it - nothing major though. I also went to my first spinning class Saturday morning and it wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be. My bottom still hurts but I will be back.
I don’t have a lot of exes so I don’t get those Spring calls. Guys that never even made it to relationship status have a tendency to call to check on my status but I just keep the convos short and let them know I’m not interested.
For everyone trying to leave ATL, I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact if you want to buy a house in a very nice area north of Houston, let me know.

Binford - if your goal is marriage and family then RANDOM nookie will certainly get old. Isn’t that one of the main reason that guys settle down to begin with? Because playing the field got old? LOL
Bit-O-Honey - Feel you on the oversaturation bit. Feel you on the new relationships bit. But you often can’t even get what folks did the past weekend social/dating wise. Because (some) folks don’t do anything! Sure it’s “none of our business” but isn’t all the personal things we post on here none of our business as well? LOL.

More Spring Activities: My son is on spring break this week. He chose to spend it with his father which is fine by me. Now I can walk around the house freely in my undies. At least for a week that is.
Amazon and BinF you all’s comments made me remember a song that the man was singing in the shower two days in a row. I had never heard it or maybe just never paid any attention to it. I asked him what it was then when I got to work I looked it up.
Here it is:
I used to be the type of brotha
That thought i would never slow down
I used to swear that I dont even care what happens but baby right now
(I see that) you changed my mind
(I mean that) and it took some time
But now I understand I can be a better man
I never had the chance to meet a lover quite like you.
You revealed another part of me
Gurl your love is trial and true
(Never) will I break your heart
(Never) will we ever part
(Never) Can’t believe I used to say I use to say
(Never) will I love this way
(Never) give my heart away
Never would this player hang his jersey up and leave the game
Never would’ve thought in a million years I would be here
Thats why I say
(Never) will I know the truth
(Never) would I’d known that you would come into my life and make everything new

Reduce-Reuse-Recycle is best reserved for plastics & paper goods. Even the most casual ‘recycleable’ can be problematic b/c he may expect some sort of priority since they technically got there first. That’s either a headache or a heartache waitin to happen so I try hard not to backslide…

Tazzee Hey there girl I was just looking at some houses in Houston. I am comtemplating moving myself. But not because I dont love Atlanta its home.(Southern Gal until I die) But because I am looking to buy a home and I cant find a house in a decent school district. Without paying 300k plus to live in that area. Out of my league. I know this is not the get schooled blog but frankly schools heading south are proving the old sayings you want a good education head north-I hate thinking that but right now it is holding true. Homeschooling is looking better and better.

@don dada so true. i seriously considered moving out west a few years ago. but i stayed here for love and the cost of living.
the love thang didn’t work out. and i finally got honest about the fact that i might have to suck up the cost of living thing in return for a city that works better for me.
re: what am i doing this spring? answer: same thing i’ve been doing. i go to a concert, restaurant, or play at least once a month. i plan to squeeze in a trip to see my folks and maaaaybe one to NY too. i’m overdue for some serious quality time with my BFF.
@amazonred: i don’t date because i hardly ever have. always feels like a waste of time. it just doesn’t work for me.
besides, when i do go to places where single folks congregate, i don’t get approached. might as well save my money and stay home if i’m going to get the same results.
i’ve made peace with my impending spinsterhood … lol.

anonymousella, your post is very disheartening. However, don’t you feel good just going out by yourself even if no one approaches you. Do you think there’s a reason why no one approaches you? Are you, as they say here on this blog, mean mugging?
Shouldn’t some of your results be that you simply took yourself out and had a good time??? Just wondering. Hell, I’m going to force myself to go to concerts, movies and dinner by myself. Something I don’t like doing, but this spring/summer it’s about me exploring things on my own and not waiting around indoors feeling bad. Hell to da naw!

Anon that sounds serious. Why is it you feel you don’t get appraoched? Also, do you feel it will better in another city? New faces, same people.
After I got divorced I thought about heading home. I’m so glad I didn’t. Atlanta is the nicest place to live in I’ve been to. Low cost of living, plenty to do and plenty of places to travel to. If they would just cut out the land between here and the ocean i’d marry this place. We need more water, an ocean. LOL

Helllooo in here….is everyone out planting trees, collecting & cleaning their recycle bins, arranging car pools , etc.? For tomorrow and Earth Week i was thinking about purchasing some recycle canvas bags that most retailers sell now, and pass them out here at the office*.
Lets see…
How was your weekend? It’s the playoffs I had a faboulous weekend!!…And i also went shopping for couple babyshower events coming up soon…the weather was marvelous.
Any hot dates, serendipitous encounters, or potential romances brewing? lol…almost. let you know Tuesday
Where do you plan to spend your spring? outdoor around the grill (of course), joining the church in a effort/task tent event for the public, baseball fields, T2Tennis events, Book Club Girls Day out @ Braselton Ga. Chateau Elan, Atlantic Station i always meet nice ppl their, OH, and i joined the Ga. Aquarium Volunteering Program dunno how that happened.
Where do you go to meet people with similar interests as you? networking events, places mentioned above.
mytwocents - reduce, reuse, recycle…got it! But nah…i can never go back to a “place” where i was hurt, lied too, used, blamed…etc, etc.

anonymousella Thank you for your response and being pulled out of lurksville. I think you should try speed dating. It forces you to be social and highlight the best part of your personality…in 3 minutes. I think if you kick into gear, you will be more approachable by men. You sound defeated.

For single people moving or buying a home it is fairly simple. But with a school age child it is a nightmare. How was my weekend? It was ok but I didn’t get to spend much time with the wife (she had a wedding to coordinate.) I got in town on Friday evening and went straight to my kids flag football practice and then spent all day Saturday at the park watching their games, then I had catch a flight yesterday afternoon to NY.
My wife and I normally travel in the spring. We just came back from San Francisco about 3 weeks ago. I froze my butt off in San Francisco (Fisherman’s Wharf). We also went to Savannah the following week for some additional time to ourselves.

Kym and Tazzee I am so glad that my youngest has the opportunity to go to a good private school. I wish I would have sent my oldest. But he did go to a fairly decent high school. The main reason we decided to stay in the house I lived in prior to the nups is for the school district. My ex s-i-l says that Atl public schools are falling off the academic scales of excellence. She is a teacher so I can take her word for that.
RandomStuff Saturday morning we lying in bed and the doorbell rang. I looked toward the window and it wasn’t quite light out yet so it was fairly early. I just laid there and it rang again. Somebody was acting like they were asleep but he forgets that I know what his breathing sounds like when he is truly asleep. But anyway, it rang a third time and this very unfamiliar voice ran past our door saying “I’ll get it.” Huh?? I asked Mase who in the heck was that. He said, “Your son”. LOL That voice was not coming out of my baby. That was a grown man running past that door. His voice finally snapped into tune. He is a nice clear baritone and not that itchy, scratchy, nasal toned accent we have had to listen to for the past two years. And now I have to look up at him. Only 13.

Ared there’s a house down the street from me sitting on Lake Spivey and it has my name all over it. Had this market slowdown not occurred I’d be closer. Jet skiing in the afternoons, pontooning on the lake for lunch, the whole thing. Also has an infinity pool facing the lake. Somehow that’s gotta be my house. I gotta figure this thing out. The bad part is it’s in Clayton county which is south hell as far as school districts. I think eventually it will drop the home values in that area. They’re now 1.5 mill plus to be on the lake. Somehow, someway. LOL I have a picture of it near my desk. To tight.
Also, the school systems across the country are dropping off. Even cali, which had a nice thing going, is slipping. Homeschooling will be the big thing in the future.
Kym have you thought about peachtree city or one of these magnet school districts? You could definetly find a nice home in one of these areas.
ABC I must retract a part of my statement on Constantine from friday. He didn’t choose christianity because he sought forgiveness. That was just a theory. Actually nobody knows why he chose it but speculation is christianity had a better infra-structure in place. My bad, I stand corrected. (Yes, i had to go do some research after I thought about it.)

BriteEyez will be enjoying the outdoor while playing four squares with her garage.

ARed is nosey azz hellz. What did you do this weekend besides attending a funeral?
Six-One is no longer in a bike club because dem tricks alway talking about her because she ride with no pants on.
Raqi’s daddy couldn’t afford halloween customs when she was little.
Somebody forgot to tell 2E’s that halloween is once a year but you wearing that big bird custom tho.

Truth Homeschooling will be the big thing in the future.
Exactly what qualifies the average parent to think they can successfully educate their child at home by themself? Teachers have to go to college for at least four years in order to earn a license and be “highly qualified” to teach one subject area. How can a parent think that they are doing their child justice unless they themselves have the same educational preparation as a teacher?

Blakgirl - There are weddings happening each weekend in Atlanta. Someone is getting these guys to propose. You’ve got to set yourself apart, but eventually the right one will come along.
I don’t see how taking yourself out the dating game accomplishes this task though…
On a side note, I saw both Juno and I Am Legend on the plane. I liked Juno and didn’t really care for Legend. At the end of these movies I often ask myself “what was the point?” That started after seeing Monster’s Ball. What was the point in spending millions to make that dumb azz movie. LOL

Sunshine put your pistols away. If I had a child, which I don’t want one, I would be concerned with the enviroment as well as the education. Some of these schools are a mirror of the shoddy households these kids come out of. Also, personally there’s not a subject I couldn’t teach my child up through the 3rd or 4th grade. And we’d have some hellified school trips to the planetatrium, aquarium, zoo’s, and anything else where they could learn something. My .02.
Ared* **There are weddings happening each weekend in Atlanta. When I dealt with similar odds in the dating field (In germany the odds were 10-15 guys per girl) I still pulled the cutest chick in the spot, and I had a few spares. I think alot of it is attitude. Hey Everyone Not recycling here…just moving forward.
BTW all the good public schools in GA are in Cobb County, North Fulton, and some in Gwinnett. Actually, if you adjust for the population difference, GA and CA would have about the same number of high schools ranked in the top 1300 public high schools in the US. The difference in the educational systems is in how the “average” schools are performing, but GA’s and CA’s TOP schools are performing about the same.

Sunshine With all due respect to the teaching profession. I know there are quite a few teachers tuning in..but 4 years in college and a sheepskin do not a quality teacher make. The qualities of teaching are more than that piece of paper. Just as to parent is more than birthing a baby. If you are going to teach then you have to be dedicated. You have to be willing set aside ego and blame and get down to business. Which is not what I see going on in the public school system.

Cemeeli I met a few parents who home school and alot of the museums and attractions have homeschool days. The materials for teaching are available online and parents even have a network setup where their children interact with other homeschoolers and they hold graduation ceremonies. Take a look at the kids making it to the finals in alot of these math and science competitions..They are homeschoolers. I agree with Truth on this one. If I knew then what I know now.. I would have stayed in North Fulton or homeschooled my bambino. They even have virtual highschool now.

It is just plain sad that our school systems across the country are failing the children. I do not think that we need to educate every child to be a “rocket scientist” but every child does need to know the basics of reasoning and other skills in order to remain viable and ept in our society and the competitive job market. And this whole emphasis on quantitative measures of skills only skews the issues more so…if the children were being properly taught, then the test would be taken with some show of comprehension of the skills being assessed.
By Raqi

The quality of education is only as good as the quality of the instructor. That’s with any type of education…private, public, or home schooling. I know a set of kids that are home school because the parents want to protect them from the “transgressions” in the public school atmosphere. Now that is a huge price to pay when one could just as well discipline their kids well at home and then send them off with a sense of morals and good behavior.
I think a child is cheated when not allowed to venture into the unknown of the variety that the world has to offer.

Kym you’re schooling me. My sister is actally a teacher and attempted the Home School network while she was having her kids (didn’t want to put her babies in daycares so while @ home she taught 2nd grade twins and one 6th grader the twins big brother she made her garage and den up to be classroom replica) To me it look like a lot of work and she had to PLAN a lot. She is back teaching in the private sector now but she HATE the benefits. From my understanding pvt school benefits are not as rewarding as funded schools. Anyway, if i homeschooled i would definitley need a network with other homeschool parents and it what would be even better if they were all within the ame neighborhood or 10mil radius.

Truth I wasn’t personally attacking you. I just get a bit offended when people constantly attack the public school system when they have absolutely no idea of what actually goes on in classrooms. If most parents knew how their little darlings act as soon as they leave the house, they’d be shocked! Also, homeschooling should not be taken lightly. Most people can’t honestly say that they know enough about six different subjects to educate a child.

Secondly, lemme add:
Private school is not all that some ppl think it should be. Parents/families are resorting to the pvt schools as a refuge for reform kids. That is not the purpose/goal at these schools. As a matter of fact it would be better to try and send your kid into an school/atmosphere where there are trained staff that are skilled in teaching/supporting those kids to better their behavior…THEN maybe enroll the in the private school. I have seen to many a times where the child has been expelled from a pvt institution b/c of unchanged behavior problems and the family where put in a situation at the beggining or mid-year to find a new school. In most pvt schools there is NO refund (at least at my kids’) for the year. So to lose $$$ and you’re still out looking for a school for your child is not easy. Make triple sure the decision is the right one, before you are out and oust!

Sunshine Any parent worth their salt knows exactly what their children are capable in and out of school. IMO if they dont then they are off their game. I tell “the boy” that there is not a trick in the book he can pull that I dont know. If they say he talks to much..i know he is my kid, gets off track..i know he is my kid. But at the same time dont think that teachers should not be held accountable…because they have a 4 year degree. I have said it before to my son’s teachers and I have made this statement on the Get Schooled blog as well. It is my job to lay the foundation for my son’s education..I may not know what the plans are of the house that will be built on that foundation but it is my job to lay the foundation..that means I am the chief foreperson and the chief stakeholder when it comes down to it. Teachers, counselors, etc.. you are hired help. That means if you are laying down on the job. I am the parent that will come in and address that. Why? When all is said and done if you are still slipping then I know it is time to get some new help.

Ethel was a bit of a demon in her wheelchair, and loved to charge around the nursing home, taking corners on one wheel and getting up to maximum speed on the long corridors.
Because the poor woman was one sandwich short of a picnic the other residents tolerated her and some of them actually joined in.
One day Ethel was speeding up one corridor when a door opened and Kooky Clarence stepped out with his arm outstretched. “STOP!,” he shouted in a firm voice. “Have y ou got a license for that thing?” Ethel fished around in her handbag and pulled out a Kit Kat wrapper and held it up to him. “OK” he said, and away Ethel sped down the hall.
As she took the corner near the TV lounge on one wheel, weird Harold popped out in front of her and shouted “STOP! Have you got proof of insurance?” Ethel dug into her handbag, pulled out a drink coaster and held it up to him. Harold nodded and said “On your way, Ma’am.”
As Ethel neared the final corridor, Crazy Craig stepped out in front of her, Bu tt- Naked, and holding his “You-Know- What” in his hand. “Oh, good grief,” yelled Ethel, “Not that Dayum Breathalyzer Test again.!!!”

Home schooling is becoming more of a trend because of all the violence and unequiped teachers these days and now it’s spreading to the colleges. Most teachers who are in a union don’t even meet the requirements to teach, and no matter how terrible that teacher is they can’t be fired. Teaching should not stop after the school bell rings at the end of the day,but it should continue at home just as well.

I knew of a family (friend of mine) that kid is a product of behavior issues ( don’t follow rules) he was 2nd grade and he was expelled because he just wasn’t gonna do seatwork/classroom participation and was always up overtalking the teacher to his peers during classtime. I never go back out with Exes, there was a good enough reason that we are exes and thats a good enough reason to stay exes. Its just my thing sorry. As for my weekend, I spent it piddling out in the yard, cut grass, weed eated, swept the gutters and roof, and cleaned house.
As to where this single man hangs out, well thats a secret. Lets just say you would have to have the same tastes as I do and be fortunate enough to cross paths with me.
Dating to me is not about booty calls or how many notches I can put in my bed. It’s about finding the right one and having semi-sorta the same interestis. Hopefully spending the rest of my life with someone, and sharing good times togther.
Lastly, my plans for this spring is to, do some quality fishing. A couple friends and myself are planning to goto Minnesota and spend a couple weeks in the cabin I own near the border to Canada. It’s like TV fishing there, clear water, no tourists, lots of wildlife, and if your lucky, you can see the bald Eagles dive bomb the lake for fish which is pretty cool.
Other than that, prolly do some hiking, camping, and the traditional drinking suds with the buds. About it.

Military and other private schools aren’t for disciplinary problem children. They’re for serious academics and scholarly pursuit. Perhaps the kids are more motivated due to daddy shelling out the bucks it takes; private school kids certainly don’t enjoy a higher IQ or anything like that. But, to get in, they have to have and maintain an excellent record, both academically and behaviorally.
There are ‘boot camp’ programs operated by such as the Nat’l Guard, but the kid has to be an actual criminal to get in — that’s not a formal requirement, but it might as well be. Other such programs can be highly suspect as to whether they’ll help or hurt the situation, and get quite expensive. Yeah, I know that gig, I often wanted to ship my problem children off to something like that.

I’m not assuming this is happening everywhere i’m just stating what happened at lily field. Why in da hell did they put his smart self private school in the first place…i’on even know shawty. Enjoy your tulips…they are beautiful flowers.
abc i agree with your 4:29 about military & private schooling…that is why i stated you have to do your homework on all institutions.
Dreams this weather is making me wanna come up with something. hmmmm

Anon you have to have a program that travels well. You have to do good no matter the market. Flavor smavor, when you can sell you sell. Mean mugging is not good. Your homework assignment: Slightly smile at the next 10 guys you walk be and say hi. Doesn’t matter what they look like. When you can do this we’ll go on to your next lesson. When you can snatch the pebble from my hand it’s time for you to get the hell outta here. Now bow, a little lower.

For those who are thinking about leaving ATL because the men are played, let me tell you this.
If you can’t not date successfully in Atlanta, you can not do it anywhere. Atlanta is a melting pot of black singles from EVERYwhere. Remember, this was the black mecca everyone was trying to go to.
I’ve lived up north, down south and in the west. Here, you can get all different types of men, because they come from all those areas. In other places, they are the same men.
All this to say, leave ATL if you want to…but I think you’ll be quite disappointed.

oh! Adam just reminded me, thanks. Is anyone interested in booking some cabins somewhere as a group for a weekend? Would be a cool way to meet new people.
I prefer the colder months, but that’s just me. Let me know, what you guys think tomorrow. Maybe we can research some places nearby or somewhere out of state.

Wise Diva the cabins in the Blue Ridge mountains are cool. They are about an hour and 15 minutes away from ATL.

Ared I agree with your last post 100%. They’ll just be sitting in another city talking about ” those cats in atlanta were nice”. LOL Remember, it’s not city, it’s you.
Triple post Kenyan you’re right, they could be undeveloped socially so a prent doing this has to get that child out to sociallize with other kids their age. Supervised.
Sunshine I knew you wasn’t attacking me personally, as I was not attacking you. Just passing along my thoughts. Smooches.

Ya kiddin’, all these folks holed up in a cabin for a couple days would make for a lot of mayhem! Could lead to some serious brawls… on the other hand, not having the police handy might be a good thing. Hm.

WD I think it would be great to have a face-to-face convo with some of the anonymous bloggers. It’s always good to put faces on perceived personalities. A cabin escapade..ahem, I mean escape (blushes) might be a bit much. Maybe start with some sort of mixer to weed out the “all talk no gamers”
